Part of me couldn't believe that I was standing toe-to-toe with a demon who wanted my money and my body.
His overconfidence told me that not many dared to oppose him and the way the other four obeyed him was a giveaway that he was the leader.
I wondered if they would show this attitude if my father were here. Probably not. My father had that royal arrogance that demanded submission. Just by looking at him, one would know that my father is a deadly creature.
Would Duke be able to beat them up into obedience? Definitely. My Duke was the strongest person I've met, regardless of how big his opponent was.
I was not my father, and I was not Duke, but my impatience was rising by the second.
