After Dinner

After the conversation about the earlier events and the relief of returning home, Mahiru feels a mix of emotions. Although she is certainly safe now, she still fears that something like what happened earlier might happen again.

Feeling the need to clean up and relax, she turns to Mateus, who watches her with concern.

Embarrassed, she asks him, "Mateus, I would like to take a shower. Would you mind if I use your bathroom?"

Understanding Mahiru's need, Mateus responds without hesitation, "Of course, make yourself at home. Feel free to use it as much as you need. And if you want, I can lend you some clothes."

Once again embarrassed, Mahiru accepts Mateus's kindness. While Mahiru heads to the shower, Mateus grabs one of his larger shirts. He picks a light blue shirt, knowing it will be enough to cover Mahiru and provide her with some comfort.

As Mahiru takes her shower, Mateus is left alone for a few moments, reflecting on how much the situation has changed in such a short time. He worries about Mahiru's well-being, hoping that this time of tranquility will help calm her fears and anxieties.

After a while, Mahiru comes out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and accepts the shirt Mateus offers with a sincere thank you. She puts it on and smiles, feeling more comfortable. Mateus has to agree; indeed, the shirt is perfect. It gives Mahiru a touch of casualness that he likes a lot. Seeing his girlfriend wearing his clothes gives Mateus a strange but comforting feeling that he can't quite explain. He just knows he likes it.

Turning his attention back to Mahiru, Mateus smiles, happy to see that Mahiru is a bit more relaxed.

"I'm glad you like it. Shall we prepare something to eat? I think a nice dinner will help you unwind a bit."

Agreeing with Mateus's suggestion, Mahiru heads to the kitchen with him.

Meanwhile, a certain dragon returns home happy to see Mahiru safe. Assuming Mateus has taken care of the situation, Ophis doesn't worry about the details. However, the idea of having something to eat does catch her attention.

Looking at Ophis, Mateus extends the invitation, "Ophis, would you like to help us prepare something together?"

Ophis blinks her big eyes, interested in the idea, and with a nod, she agrees to help and approaches Mateus and Mahiru.

Appreciating the help from another person, Mateus asks Mahiru, while he begins to gather some ingredients from the pantry.

"I'll prepare something simple. What would you like to eat, Mahiru?"

Mahiru, still a bit shy, smiles at Mateus and replies, "I'm not really picky. Something light would be great."

Mateus starts cooking while Mahiru helps set the table and prepares some simple side dishes. Ophis, with her small size and a bit of enthusiasm, also helps with arranging the dishes, occasionally using her magic to make the process more efficient.

As they cook and chat, enjoying each other's company, the atmosphere in the kitchen becomes completely relaxed.

After a while, the meal is ready, and they sit down to eat. The dinner is simple but comforting. The conversation flows naturally, and the friendly atmosphere helps ease some of the tension Mahiru is still feeling.

After dinner, the ambiance in Mateus's home completely blurs the events of the day. The cheerful and peaceful atmosphere makes everything seem like just a bad dream.

While tidying up after dinner, as he cleans the table, Mateus sees Mahiru approaching him. Noticing that she looks a bit embarrassed, Mateus can't quite guess what she wants.

Hesitantly, Mahiru approaches and says, "Mateus… I know you've already done so much for me today and it might seem strange to ask for more…"

Gathering her courage, Mahiru continues her request, "After everything that happened today, I'm not sure if I could sleep alone… Could I sleep with you tonight?"

Almost whispering the last part, Mahiru makes her request to Mateus. Surprised and seeing how cute Mahiru looks, Mateus finds his thoughts wandering.

'Calm down!' In his thoughts, Mateus tells himself to stay calm. A beautiful girl is asking to sleep with him.

Mateus is not the kind of guy who would do anything he might regret later, especially if it involves hurting Mahiru; if she wanted something else, the story would be different... quickly calming himself, he responds to Mahiru.

"It's okay, Mahiru. We can definitely spend the night together. If you want, you can even hug me all night and I won't mind." Agreeing to Mahiru's proposal, Mateus sees no serious problem in them sleeping together.

Teasing Mahiru a bit, Mateus lightens the mood, and Mahiru plays along.

"Thank you, Mateus. I'll accept your offer too." Laughing together at the situation, they both get ready to go to sleep.

In the corner of the room, a small dragon watches the whole situation with curiosity while also preparing to rest.

When everything is ready, Mateus and Mahiru settle into the bed. A bit hesitant, Mahiru lies down beside Mateus. Seeing this, Mateus resumes the playful teasing, "Didn't you say you were going to hug me all night? I'm waiting."

With his arms open and a little smirk, Mateus continues to tease Mahiru. Not expecting her to actually hug him, Mateus decides to withdraw his arms. To his surprise, Mahiru determinedly fits into Mateus's embrace.

With a flushed face, Mahiru looks up and sees Mateus looking back at her, also a bit embarrassed. Not knowing what to say, Mahiru simply says, "Good night, Mateus."

In response, Mateus says, "Good night, Mahiru."

With the soft sound of breaths gradually becoming calmer and more peaceful, both drift into the world of dreams, relaxing after all the stressful situations they faced throughout the day.
