Middle School in Japan

A month has passed since Andrea and Co. have moved to Japan. During this month, she studied hard to learn the language and, much to her mother's annoyance, started to really like watching anime and reading manga. While the family didn't think it was bad, it was certainly a rabbit hole leading to more anime. So now, Andrea is watching some of the older stuff from the Gundam franchise.

Now, we are watching Andrea awaken before her first day of school.

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

She reaches over to her phone and, to her annoyance, knocks it off her nightstand, trying to turn her alarm off. She slowly gets up from bed, clearly in a mood that non-morning people normally have at six-thirty in the morning. Jinwoo's powers had become even stronger, and can now grant his shadows a human appearance, so Andrea had a driver that would pick her up and drop her off from school.

Slowly climbing out from the bed and picking her phone up off of the floor, she begins her morning routine while watching the news on her phone. She washes her face, does her hair, eats breakfast, brushes her teeth, and now, at 7:38 in the morning, is ready to go to school. She grabs her coffee-filled tumbler and heads downstairs, where her driver is waiting. The fifteen-minute drive goes quickly as she plays on her phone.

Now, at 7:55, Andrea climbs out of the car, catching the eye of many students, including one Shizuku Yaegashi. Andrea's purple and blonde hair making a striking contrast, and it's tied into a loose ponytail reaching her upper back. She was currently sporting a white, long-sleeved blouse and some slate gray jeans. Paired with some light pink sneakers that, for some reason, worked between the blouse and hair.

She began walking toward the school only to be stopped at the gate by the teacher. "Miss, are you a student?" This was a young girl that he's never seen before. Clearly a foreigner, but at the same time, not?

"Yes, I'm supposed to get my uniform tomorrow, but they wanted to introduce me to the school today," Andrea says in Japanese with a slightly foreign accent, showing this isn't her mother language. The teacher nods and asks if a nearby student can take her to the staff room. Shizuku, being Shizuku, volunteers before one of the guys gets any ideas.

Walking up to Andrea, Shizuku introduces herself, "Hi, I'm Shizuku Yaegashi." She reaches out a hand which Andrea takes happily. "Andrea Thompson, I just moved here from America and will be attending this school until graduation at the least." She slipped some English in by accident, but, again, it's Shizuku. She doesn't have a problem understanding and even nods to show that.

Walking through the halls to the second-level staff room, she then says goodbye and that they could meet up later, as they found out they're in the same year. Happily agreeing, Andrea turns to face the sliding door and knocks. Unsure whether to wait or not, she decided to wait until somebody told her to enter. She didn't have to wait long before hearing it. "Hello, you must be Ms. Thompson. I'll be your teacher for this year, Shimura Soei."

(A/N: I don't know if they were named for middle school and don't particularly care either. AU BULLSHITTERY FOR THE WIN!!)

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Shimura. I'm Andrea Thompson. By you knowing my name and expecting me, I guess you'll be my new teacher?"

"At least for homeroom and math, yes. English, Science, History, and Japanese will all take place with different teachers. Now follow me, I'll guide you to class. Luckily you're the only transfer this trimester, so it shouldn't be too much work. You'll find your click soon enough." He then leads Andrea to class 2-A, where he told her to wait in the hall.

From inside, she could hear him making a small greeting and then "We have a new student joining us today." *Transfer student class noises and gibberish ensue* "Calm down, everybody. Please come in, Andrea."

She slides open the door and walks toward the teacher. Seeing 21 other students made her nervous, but she was always a social butterfly, so it wasn't too much of a problem. It also helped to see Shizuku smile at her. Nodding her head in return, she joins Mr. Shimura by the podium and introduces herself. "My name is Andrea Thompson, and I just moved here from America due to my dad's job. I hope we'll become friends." She bows a bit then Mr. Shimura directs her towards her desk. Sitting down, she's greeted by Kaori, who shared her books for the day. Even if Andrea had Hyperthymesia, she wouldn't turn down the niceness of another student.

During school, the class asked a lot of questions about clubs and relationships. Much to the class's surprise, Andrea mentioned she was a lesbian, instantly turned down every boy in class while giving the girls feelings of uncertainty. Of course, this era didn't look down on same-sex relationships, but it wasn't like America. She also said she'd be joining the archery club, another surprise for the class.

"Alright, class. That's all for today. I'll see you all tomorrow." The class then dismisses, and the students start to leave. During the day, she made friends with Kouki, Shizuku, Kaori, and Ryutarou and joined their group. "I have to stop by the staff office, but I'd bet my Mom would be okay with me inviting friends over if you want to?" Shizuku and Kaori agreed immediately, and only after Kouki agreed did Ryytarou. Of course, Andrea asked Hae-in earlier if they could come over, and Hae-in readily agreed, happy that her daughter already had a group of friends.

Walking into the staff room, Mr. Shimura waves Andrea over and hands her a student rulebook and uniform. "The rulebook really only covers the obvious stuff, but there's also stuff about piercings, sunglasses, and uniform code, along with phone usage. Sadly, we aren't as open as America, so keep this stuff in mind, okay?"

"Understood, Mr. Shimura. Have a good day." Smiling at him, Andrea made her way out of the staff room and to the gates where the group of four were waiting. Hae-in had sent the driver with an SUV this time so that the whole group could come.

The night went well, with Hae-in and Jinwoo introducing themselves. Jinwoo gave a glare to the boys, much to everybody's confusion, until Andrea realized why. "Hey, dad?" "What's up, cupcake?" Getting a bit embarrassed at the nickname and hearing a few chuckles, she chose to ignore them. "Why are you glaring at them so much?" Even Hae-in seemed confused by this. If he was going to glare, it should be at Shizuku and Kaori.

"Hmm, I don't want you getting tricked and stolen by any guys." The ENTIRE room facepalms, a few shadows even had an audible facepalm, much to the four's confusion. Meanwhile, Hae-in began the demon smile after realizing how much her husband has been paying attention to home life since Andrea was 9 when she came out to her parents and brother. And yes, all of them were in the same room and present.

"Jinwoo," Hae-in says in a cold yet very pissed-off tone. Jinwoo tensed up and began to visibly sweat. He then turns his attention to Hae-in. "I think we need to have a chat about your priorities if you can't even remember to expect a daughter-in-law instead of a son-in-law." She said that pretty much perfectly, and everybody, even the four, nodded in agreement. I mean, that's pretty bad parenting.

The rest of the night, nobody saw Jinwoo, but Andrea knew where he was. A very dark room that even he was somehow not able to escape. Even if he did, he'd get the cold shoulder from his wife for a month, which he still might for this one.

Finally got the chap out. I had this prepped for a while, but I kinda fell into a hole filled with Fairy Tail fanfics. Might make one off to the side. I mean, most of these are either short, don't have enough chaps, not enough SoL, or simply grammer and pacing issues that are noticably worse than my own.

Anyways, Love you guys and I'll see you in about two days with the next chap!
