Elizabeth’s Secret

Vanessa met up with Clara in an abandoned cabin near where Eliza died. Why had she brought her here? What could she have possibly found. Clara refused to tell Vanessa what she found. Vanessa looked like she'd been crying. (She probably had) When they got to the cabin something scurried across the floor "RATS" Clara shrieked. The cabin had been decorated by someone. There was pink dusty furniture, the walls had been painted. It hadn't been abandoned for long. Clara showed Vanessa a book. "The Diary of Elizabeth Rose" Vanessa read. "Read the rest" ordered Clara she had always been so controlling. Vanessa turned the page. "Dear Diary" she read aloud. "Today Steve proposed obviously I said no he got mad and stormed off" the other pages had been ripped out. All except for one. In bold letters it said BEWARE OF GOLD! And nothing else. "What does that mean?" Asked Clara. "I don't know" replied Vanessa "isn't your cousin's last name Gold Clara?" "Yeah but Ava would never kill anyone she's new to town. That reminds me she's starting at our school tomorrow." "I don't care" yelled Vanessa "what" "I'm glad you helped me but we aren't friends anymore" Vanessa started to walk off. "WAIT! There's another page!" The last page had not been ripped out it read: "dear diary he won't stop asking he's gone insane he shows up everywhere I have to break up with him he's a crazy stalker I feel really bad about what I had to do yesterday but it had to be done..." Vanessa finished reading "what happened the day before?" But the page had been ripped out "We should turn this in to the police" Suggested Clara. "No I'm keeping it" said Vanessa firmly. "If we keep it that's withholding evidence we could get arrested!" "Not if they don't find out." Then she walked off with the book.
