There Will be a Wedding

"This wedding cannot go on!" An Nuan's father, An Qi's voice was loud in the bride and groom's waiting room. "Mr. Pei, let's not talk about this matter now. I will visit you another day with my lawyer to settle this."

The Pei couple's face turned pale upon hearing this. They were unwilling to cancel the wedding. Especially when they thought of what will happen next.

An Qi will definitely bring his lawyer and sue their family.

The An family was influential in the business world. 

The Pei family's business depended on several projects from An Group. If this wedding was canceled, then, the project that they should forget the cooperation between them.

At this time, the Pei family elders wanted to curse Pei Zhi Yi for his recklessness.

The room was now filled with their close friends and family who were concerned about the delayed wedding. Some of them hung around just because they wanted to watch the excitement.

Mrs. Pei's gaze fell on An Nuan who sat on the sofa. Her mother sat beside her to accompany her.

After a brief hesitation, Mrs. Pei walked over to An Nuan.

She reckoned that convincing An Nuan to wait for Pei Zhi Yi to return would be easier.

An Nuan loved Pei Zhi Yi very much. If she coaxed her a little bit, An Nuan would surely listen.

"Nuan Nuan..." Mrs. Pei called. Her voice was gentle.

However, the moment she spoke, An Nuan's elder brother, An Jian stepped forward to stop her from approaching. "What do you want?" There was a trace of hostility in his voice.

Mrs. Pei trembled upon meeting An Jian's gaze. Subconsciously, she took a step back from An Jian. However, once she recalled that she needed to talk to An Nuan, Mrs. Pei forced herself to calm down and smiled. "I just need to talk to Nuan Nuan."

Shi Xi stood up, blocking her daughter from Mrs. Pei's line of gaze. "My daughter has nothing to say to you."

"Sister..." Mrs. Pei approached, deciding to coax her first. "Don't be like this. Let's sit down and talk properly first. What's important is An Nuan's feelings. As the elders we should not obstruct the children's happiness." She turned to An Nuan. "Nuan Nuan, I'm sure that Zhi Yi has his reason. Jiao Jiao knew that today was your wedding day. An Nuan closed her eyes tightly, wanting everything around her to disappear.

However, she could still hear the voices of people around her talking about her.

Her parents were arguing with Pei Zhi Yi's parents about the wedding. At the side, she could pick up the voices of others discussing how pitiful she was to be left alone before the wedding ceremony.

She could tell that some were laughing at her. Some were saying that she was too cold for her lack of reaction after Pei Zhi Yi left.

She supposed she could cry her heart out. However, she was still finding it hard that Pei Zhi Yi would choose to look for Sun Jiao on their wedding day. 

Her dignity did not allow her to cry in front of many people.

An Nuan was tired. 

She only hoped that everything around her would disappear.

"Nuan Nuan?" Ren Di called as she watched An Nuan stand up suddenly. 

The room was quiet as everyone had their eyes on An Nuan.

Then, Mrs. Pei stepped forward with a smile on her face. "Nuan Nuan, let's wait for Zhi Yi for a while longer, alright? Mom knows that you and Zhi Yi love each other. Zhi Yi said that he was going to return. Then, he will return."

An Nuan finally shifted her gaze to Mrs. Pei. "No. I gave him a chance. I told him that this relationship was over once he left."

"Mrs. Pei. This isn't the first time."

The elder woman was shocked when An Nuan addressed her as Mrs. Pei. After An Nuan and Pei Zhi Yi were engaged, An Nuan would always call her 'Mom' with affection.

Then, the shock turned to embarrassment as Mrs. Pei realized that An Nuan had pointed out that this was not the first time for Pei Zhi Yi to leave her side for Sun Jiao.

"There will be a wedding," An Nuan said before her mother got into another fight with Mrs. Pei. 

An Nuan's words brought different reactions from many people.

Her family members were in disbelief, thinking that An Nuan still wanted to wait for Pei Zhi Yi.

Meanwhile, the Pei family was happy to hear that An Nuan was willing to give Pei Zhi Yi a chance.

"There will be a wedding," An Nuan repeated. The corner of her lips tilted to a smile that did not reach her eyes. "Since Pei Zhi Yi refused to marry me, then, I will just grab someone else who is willing to marry me."
