Where, am I? (Rewritten)

'Ughh, so bright.' "Can someone turn off the lights..." But no one answered. 'Why is no one answering?' Musashi slowly opened his eyes. Expecting to see the ceiling of a hospital room, he was instead greeted by the vast expanse of blue sky and the clear sun shining down on him. The short grass hugged him, and he felt a gentle breeze swaying the blades. "Wait, shouldn't I be in bed? And where are all those devices that were keeping me alive?"

'Did the doctors take me outside? Where are they, anyway? Maybe this is some kind of last happy hour they made for me.' His thoughts wandered. Musashi took a deep breath and was flabbergasted to find he could breathe normally again, without any pain or coughing. He was brimming with joy—he should have been on his deathbed, but now he felt full of vitality.

'Did they find a cure? And where is my family?'

Musashi slowly turned his head to look at his surroundings. On the right side... nothing. On the left side... nothing. Musashi started to feel nervous, realizing something was wrong.

"Wait, this isn't my voice." His eyes trailed down his body, and what he saw shook him to the core. Instead of the body of a 28-year-old man, he saw the small frame of a boy or girl around 6 years old. He was skinny and wore a yukata that was brown, dirty, and a little tattered.

He was in total panic mode. 'Where am I? Where is my family? What is happening? Why am I in this body?'

After a moment of constant barrage of questions, he tried to calm down and make sense of his situation. All he could think of was that it had to be a dream. He tried to rationalize what was occurring to him, and it kind of worked, but he was still uneasy.

'Calm down, it's just a dream.'

The next thing he did was try to sit up. It took him a few seconds. "This is harder than I thought." 'This body is really weak. How can I have such a real dream? I need to get out of this dream. I want to see my family.'

'Well, one way to get out of this dream might be to mortally wound myself. Or wait here, which is boring. And the last option that comes to mind is to reach someplace... but where?'

He stood up, which took another few seconds, and then took a few more to maintain his balance and avoid tumbling into the grass.

Musashi looked around again. In front of him were grass fields. To the right, more grass fields. To the left, yet another field of grass. But behind him, in the far distance, was a peculiar city.

'This place reminds me of something I saw somewhere, but I can't put my finger on it. Well, I don't remember right now. "One way to find out what it is. Is to march forward."
