Chapter 22: Diamond

"What do you mean they're not coming back?"

Well Ryo feel something when the old man said no one is returning

"There is some creature that live there, I don't know what creature it is but it is terrifying, I guess"

The old man also didn't know what is the creature that live there, Ray once again ask them if they still want to go.But none of them lose confidence they still want to go eventhough they know it will be dangerous.

"It seems my team is ready to go don't you agree old man?"

"Hm, There is nothing I can do to stop you guys"

So that's it, It's been decided that Ray's party regardless what the situation on the cave. After finish eating their dinner they immediately go to sleep, But Ray still up, He's holding a dagger and swinging it around.

The smith who witness Ray's determination become speechless he know Ray is not a bad guy. The smith also know that Ray would go alone if his friends doesn't want to go with him. The trust that he his friends have on him is big it can't be severe easily.

"Kid why don't you sleep already"

"Just a few more minute"

"I know you love dagger, But don't worry I will forge you an unbreakable dagger, Oh kid I have a wish can you inherit my forging skill?"

For a second Ray become speechless, What does this old man want? Why did he want Ray to become his successor?,

"Haha, I know it's sudden but please I want you to continue my legacy after I died"

"Stop spouting nonsense old man!!! Why would you say that why?"

Tears drop from Ray's eye, Just why he wonder why him?, So the smith explain it to Ray. This is just move of precaution if someone kidnap him he would kill himself rather then forge a weapon to some villain.

"It's okay kid even if I'm alive, You can still use my forging skill because I know you wouldn't use my skill for a bad things right?"

Ray speechless, He he didn't know what to say so he agree with the smith wish, The smith start to transfer his knowledge to Ray. Ray receive a lot of knowledge about forging. After 10 minute of transfering his knowledge, It finally done.

"So kid how is it?"

"This is insane"

"Imagine if this fall into the wrong hand what would have happen to claude kingdom"

Just thinking about it give Ray a chill, But this is also dangerous for Ray because he need to prevent this knowledge to fall into the wrong hand. So he need to protect this knowege as if to protect his own life.

The reason why the smith hand his knowledge to Ray because no one is qualified to inherit his knowledge. Even his own successor, So it's a miracle that he found Ray. But if the knowledge do fall into the wrong hand, The smith wont't blame Ray for it.

"Don't worry old man no one is getting this knowledge, If they want it so badly, Then it's over my dead body"

Such determination the old man knows Ray wasn't lying about that, His eye is sharp as fang, But the smith are relieve he wasnt wrong about Ray, So he worried about nothing.

"Alright you can go to sleep now, About the knowledge you don't have to practice it"

"Wait, Waht do you mean?"

"Then goodnight kid"

After receiving the knowledge about forging Ray goes to sleep he want to prepare for the adventure. The old man also goes to sleep now he can rest assured because he has found his successor.

It's morning, As usual Ray wake up early and ready to venture, Of course Ryo is the last one he always late. Zed smack Ryo face until he wake up, fortunately it is successful Ryo awake.

Ray tell him to prepare himself, Because he is late. The smith already prepare some breakfast for them to eat. After finish eating their breakfast they excuse themself and leave the old man.

The old man wish them luck and told them to always cautious about their surrounding. They listen and thank the old man for the advice, So their journey has begun.

"So will it be a fun adventure?"

"There is no fun when you can't come back stupid"

This is the first time for bell to venturein a group, So he doesn't have a good sense of danger. Of course Ryo who has experience danger know how dangerous it can be. He smack Bell's head for his weak danger sense.

"Enough you two, Let's focus on our goals"

Ray can be cold sometimes, He has change a lot since he has a girlfriend. But he never turn his back on his friends because for him they're precious friend that Ray had in his whole life.

"So if it's too dangerous we will immediately bail out and abandon our goals, Our life is precious so when it come to life and death situation I want you guys to run"

They all keep that in mind, It's true that their life is precious and they need to achieve their goals in the future. They nod and keep that in mind, So after some briefing they finally there.

They enter the cave, It is dark fortunately for them the old man prepare an oil lamp so they can see it cleary in the cave. At first it seems nothing seems dangerous for them.

Until Bell trigered a trap by stepping on some random floor, An arrow is shoot towards them rapidly.

They manage to avoid them, But got some minor injuries. Bell apologize for not noticing a traps. Ray didn't blame him because they're always on the guard.

"It's okay Bell, We are naive for not preparing our self for traps"

Now they know that this cave have some traps. Ray lost in deep thoughts on how should they avoid this traps.

"I think we should analyze our path before we continue"

An idea come from Zed, So he start explaining to the team on how to avoid triggering the traps.

"That's it thanks Zed it's a brilliant idea!"

Ray thank him for the idea, So the goal is Ray need to activate his Tracking skill to detect all the traps. Once he figure it out where the traps is. The other will continue first and follow Ray's order to avoid the traps.

Of course, Thet will mark the area that has a trigger for the traps and let Ray continue without triggering the traps. After a long journey inside the cave.

They found a weird door inside the cave, But for now they should rest it's dangerous to barge in without energy because they don't know what will waiting them.

"Let's rest for now"

After using same skill for a long time it's time to replenish Ray's mana. It should be replenished around 30 minutes.

But they heard a roar it's loud coming from inside the door. The roar send chills to their spine, It's not something that can be taken lightly.

"Roooooarrr"

"Let's prepare for now"

"Alright"

"Understood"

"Yes"

Ray's never expect the real threats is some creature at first he thought that the traps was the threat, But he was wrong.

"Heh, What's with that face kid"
