The Strongest Vampire Returns

A mysterious particle arrived on Earth. Scientists didn't know what it was, but they called it Mana. This Mana particle was just the beginning of the catastrophe. Strange buildings appeared all over the globe, and a horde of monsters came out of it. Humans called these places dungeons, and a new era began on Earth, an era of Runners. Runners' only purpose was to explore these dungeons, trying to find out what caused them, and how to stop the horde of monsters to take over the Earth. The particle they called mana had provided mutations on humans, based on their genetics. Every individual acquired abilities based on the cells in their body. These abilities gave humanity a chance of fighting back the horde of monsters, and a way to explore the dungeons. One dungeon, in particular, had a youth lying down in a coffin. The name of the youth was Mikael, and he was a vampire. Humans thought vampires were only a tale, but Mikael was there to prove them wrong. He had slept in that coffin for thousands of years, and now some silly Runner had awakened him. Mikael found himself on an Earth he didn't know a thing, alongside monsters who could danger his very existence. Follow Mikael's journey as he learns more about this new era, and uses strange powers gifted by the mana.

Arriving at the city

The three of them slept like babies. Well, two of them, as Mikael was awake the entire night. He didn't like the idea of waking during the day, as the sunlight rays made his body weaker, and he felt more sleepy. But, if he wanted to go back with them to have a better time when arriving at the city, then that was a price he had to pay.

"You'll love our school Mikael," Evelyn said to Mikael. She loved talking with him, and felt like he was somewhat mysterious. Nicolas was more vigilant towards Mikael, and he knew that the story about losing his memories were bull shit. He didn't ask further questions. Nicolas knew that if Mikael was a threat, the academy would discover it, and eliminate him.

"You're really lucky Mikael. Our school is recruiting new students in a few days. You should be able to take the entrance test as well, if you want to," Nicolas tried to get Mikael inside the academy, where they would have more tools to uncover the truth.

"Really? If I got to spend more time with you Evelyn, then I'll surely participate in the test," Mikael said.

Evelyn cheeks blushed after hearing it, and she looked towards the ground. Mikael was handsome and she liked his personality, so she didn't mind spending more time with him.

The sun slowly disappeared, and the night came once again. Mikael's body felt lighter, and he wasn't in a poor state anymore. Their destination was getting closer, and they wouldn't need to camp like the other night, as it would not take long for them to arrive at the city.

A huge wall entered their sights, and cars lined up in front of a gate. The wall was reinforced with magic, a way to prevent against the attack of beasts. Everyone who left or entered the city had to pass through the main gate, where guards would check your ID and stuff. Mikael was scared because he didn't have an ID, but the siblings reassured him that they had a way, and in the end, they did. Nicolas lend a school uniform to Mikael, and they entered claiming to be students of the Battle Academy.

"This school sure is respected," Mikael thought as they passed the main gate. Nicolas asked for a driver, and they all hoped in a car with the Battle Academy as their destination. The entrance test would happen in three days but Evelyn told Mikael that everyone who would participate could stay in the academy for free, for a week at least. Mikael agreed with that instantly, as he was broke.

"Wouldn't I need and ID to take the test?" he asked.

"No worries. The academy don't ask for it, and if you don't have one, they will make one for you after you enter it. The purpose of the academy is to find the strongest individuals in society, so they don't care about that," Evelyn answered all of Mikael's questions with a smile on her face.

The more he got to know about the academy, the more he felt that it was the right place for him. Soon, the academy was in their reach. The place also had a wall, but the number of guards in that place was countless. One guard saw some sort of ID that Nicolas had, and they all entered without any trouble. The place was crowded with people. Mikael assumed that these were all the people that wished to take the test. They were all training their abilities against each other, or against some training dummies. Mikael was impressed. It was late in the night and yet those people were training with everything they got, truly inspiring.

Nicolas and Evelyn said that Mikael could stay in their room while the entrance test didn't happen.

"They are good people, I will not kill them," they were treating him very well, and he was starting to see them as friends. It was a nice feeling to not be judged, and see that they really wish to help him.

Their room wasn't big but it was enought for the three of them. Mikael was so focused that he didn't notice that he had to eat...

He went to the rooms bathroom, as his eyes turned red and his fangs grew, showing even if he had his mouth closed.

"Damn it. I'll have to risk it and feed on a student," he thought, opening the window and leaping into the darkness.
