<Hand Seals (Proficient)>

[Description: Hand Seals are used to perform many Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and other secret arts other than Taijutsu. They are designed to aid people in properly summoning and molding chakra necessary to perform a technique. There are different sequences of hand seals for every technique, requiring memorization.

While techniques may require a number of hand seals to work, a skilled ninja can use less or even one to perform the same technique. By reading the hand seals of the opponent, a ninja can predict the nature of the technique to be performed, which is virtually unavoidable if read by the Sharingan.

Although rare, it is possible for a shinobi to be able to do hand seals with just one hand. It is also possible for shinobi to form hand seals with one of their hands while using the hand of another person as a substitute for the opposite one. This can happen voluntarily or forcefully.

Even rarer than one-handed hand seals, are shinobi who have abandoned this traditional practice altogether, usually because their fighting style revolve around speed and quick reflexes and have developed techniques that require no hand seals to complement this fighting style.

Certain elemental releases often end in the hand seals they are affiliated with. For example, Fire Release often ends with Tiger, Earth and Wood Releases often end with the Snake hand seals.]

<Chakra Control (Proficient)>

[Description:

Because chakra takes time and a great deal of training to gradually build up, the key to its use is not actually having large amounts of chakra but instead being able to sufficiently control and conserve it. This is called Chakra Control. In order to have good chakra control, a ninja should only mold as much chakra as they need to perform a given ability.

If they mold more chakra than is needed, the excess chakra is wasted and they will tire out faster from its loss. If they don't mold enough chakra, a technique will not be performed effectively, if at all, likely creating problems in a combat situation. Because chakra consists in part of spiritual energy, the user is more easily able to mold the correct amount of chakra by remaining calm and focused.]

[Description: Fire Nature Transformation is an advanced form of chakra control that entails the molding and defining of the nature of one's chakra, altering its properties and characteristics for use in Fire Style Techniques. It is one of the necessary components to create Fire Style Techniques.]

<Dagger Style: Downward Thrust (Expert)>

[Description: Downward Thrust is typically only useful if the other party is not proficient in knife combat. There are occasions however wherein this technique is in fact useful, for example when the opponent is equipped with certain alternative types of melee weapons or a firearms.]

<Dagger Style: Slashing Technique (Expert)>

[Description: This is to utilize with the blade facing downward and the hilt facing upwards, which has a much more useful character, is the slashing technique. Careful attention should be placed on the position of the intended part of the body one is aiming for on one's opponent. This position is useful due to the inherent defensive nature the position of the blade affords its wielder. It must be said however that the position makes slashing motions the most effective technique while utilizing the dagger in this manner.]

<Evasion (Expert)>

[Description: The art of dodging attacks with the least amount of movement.]

<Accuracy (Novice)>

[Description: The term Accuracy refers to how close a result or measurement is to the actual value. A common analogy is an archer shooting arrows at a target. If the group were outside the bull's-eye area, the archer would be precise but not accurate. If the arrows found their way to the bull's-eye area, the archer would be both accurate and precise.]

<Precision (Novice)>

[Description: The term Precision refers to the reproducibility of a result or measurement. The accuracy of the archer would be determined by the location of the group of arrows. If the archer shoots three arrows in a tight group, his shooting would be considered precise.]

<Throwing (Novice)>

[Description: The ability to throw anything with your hands. The greater the proficiency, the more efficient the throwing ability.]

<Clone Jutsu (Proficient)>

[Description: This technique is most often used to disguise the user as another person, but they can also turn into an animal, plant, or inanimate object; it is most difficult for users to transform into inanimate objects, and users are shown familiarizing themselves with an object's weight and feel before assuming its form. Users will gain the attributes and physical features of whatever they transform into, such as a weapon's sharpness or an animal's fangs. To be able to assume so many different forms makes this technique invaluable for not just combat, but intelligence gathering and diversionary tactics as well. Some transformations are shown to take some getting used to, such as if the assumed form has a different height than the user or if the assumed form wears clothes that the user isn't accustomed to.]

<Body Replacement Jutsu (Expert)>

[Description: The instant before they are to be struck by an attack, the user replaces themselves with a block of wood or something similar. Because the attack does hit something, opponents may briefly believe that they've successfully struck the user. But this is merely an optical illusion and opponents will quickly notice what's happened. If users are fast enough, they can use this brief lapse in the opponent's attentions to stage a counterattack; in the anime, the replacement log itself has been shown used as an attack, being applied with explosive tags. Alternatively, this is a good opportunity for users to escape.

The Body Replacement Technique can evidently only be used in response to what would be harmful attacks]

<Cloak of Invisibility Jutsu (Proficient)>

[Description: The user covers themselves with a cloak that has a color and pattern matching the nearby surroundings, concealing their presence by seamlessly blending in. The user can then gather intel from their position or wait for an opportunity to stage an ambush on unsuspecting targets.]

<Rope Escape Jutsu (Expert)>

[Description: A tenet of shinobi is that they must escape any situation, no matter how difficult things may seem. When the user is bound, they do what they can to escape, such as by finding a way to untie the knot or dislocating their joints in order to get free of the bindings. Although this is the most basic of the escape-based jutsu, it is still fairly complicated to perform.]

<Body Flicker Jutsu (Expert)>

[Description: The Body Flicker Technique is a high-speed movement technique. By using the Body Flicker Technique, a ninja can move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported.

It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalize the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination.

A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. Other elements or substances can be used instead to distract the opponent]

<Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Jutsu (Novice)>

[Description: This technique subjects targets to visions of their greatest fear, regardless of whether or not they're aware that they're afraid of it. This "fear" can be something that the target is actually scared of or merely the one image that they least want to see.]

<Dynamic Entry (Novice)>

[Description: This is a flying kick directed at an opponent, typically their face. The kick serves two simultaneous purposes: as a surprise attack, for which reason the user may first throw a kunai to distract targets from the approaching kick; as an act of self-sacrifice, with the user's exaggerated stance, confident expression, and the sheer inconceivableness of the attack combining to intimidate the opponent, in the process enhancing the kick's offensive potential.]

<Manipulated Shuriken Jutsu (Novice)>

[Description: With this technique a translucent string, both elastic and highly durable, is attached to a shuriken, making it possible to alter its path after having thrown it. An expert will have the ability to freely glide the shuriken in any direction with just a single movement of their fingertip. The first attack, challenging the enemy, is avoided and after a time-lag of several seconds, it will come from behind.]

<Shadow Shuriken Jutsu (Novice)>

[Description: The user places two shuriken together and throws them both at a target simultaneously; the larger the shuriken that are thrown, the greater the necessary skill. The goal is for targets to focus their attention on whichever of the two shuriken is on top, not noticing the second shuriken travelling below it. Ideally, targets will dodge the upper shuriken in such a way that they are left unable to dodge the second. If targets do at any point realise there's a second shuriken, the technique is rendered ineffective.]

<Temporary Paralysis Jutsu (Expert)>

[Description: Using this technique causes a target or targets to be physically immobilized, as though they've been tied down with invisible steel ropes. Because it's a relatively simple technique, even genin should be able to perform it.

However, the strength of the binding varies significantly from one skill level to the next, so a mere genin could not hope to restrain the same targets that an Anbu could, for instance. The Temporary Paralysis Technique is a useful way to stop an opponent from attacking or, alternatively, make an opponent easier to attack.]

<Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu (Novice)>

[Description: The user kneads chakra in their body and turns it into fire, which they then expel from their mouth; the more chakra they use, the more flames that are produced. Sometimes the flames lack a distinct shape, being only a stream, but more often than not they take the form of a giant orb that maintains its shape until hitting a target. Upon impact, the fireball is powerful enough to crater the ground and vaporize the surroundings. Against living targets, the fireball can cause extensive burns.]
