The Strongest Thief

What could be worse than death? The answer was the loneliness of never being able to die. Of billions upon billions upon billions of creatures across worlds and realities, no matter how powerful they were they would always be consumed by that feeling. It was the true terror that would devour any living entities until their mind shattered and turn to void. What happened if there was a creature, a person, a human who could overcome the fear of nothingness? In the world of Loriana, the world of magic, the world of endless battles between heroes and demon lords. The young boy Torei summoned with his group of friends and his unrequited love. Like any Isekai transmigrators, they were given powers and fame. Well, except for Torei his class was a thief, a lowly infamous class only for thugs, and criminals. What could Torei do in this cruel world filled with endless hatred, suffering as a thief? Cough cough I stare at myself in the mirror for a long time after writing this synopsis. I think I'm serious this time about WSA contest I'm not a native English speaker so expect some grammar errors in my novels I will try to improve with time. If this goes well I'm gonna update a more thoughtfully editing version later. Q&A: Will this has harem? (a small and complicated harem I would say, cause at least one of them was just playing with the MC, even if there's a harem MC gonna choose only 1 love interest, there'll be no harem ending) Will this have NTR? (No) Is the cover yours? (No, I'm just borrowing it please don't kill me) Final word I'm a newbie writer so please be easy on me.

Abyss crawling part 13: Captured

As the last chaser got killed by Ilirielth. The chasing stopped for a short time but Iliriendil's group could still feel something was observing them from afar.

" Killing those creatures is useless. It's impossible to escape their sight as long as we're in this land. The only way is the passage underground that my father created a long time ago and its entrance was in their city."

The female giant explained. If what it said was true then continuing this path might be very dangerous. They knew nothing about the enemy but it was said that even the titan had a hard time passing this place, they couldn't be that weak.

" How about turning back? They can't leave this area, can't they? Then shouldn't we just wait for some time, for them to forget about us?"

" G-Great One. Your suggestion is … not bad but then we may have to wait a very long time and they'll probably seal the passage. It'll be very hard to return if that happens."

" What if I just kill them all?"

Iliriendil took a glance at Ilirielth who had been strangely quiet for a while. But there was no reaction from her. He thought killing beings of the same race made her sad but it didn't seem to be the case. He disliked seeing her like this, whenever a female human acted like this, they were hiding something.

" That… Although this one hasn't yet comprehended the depth of your strength. I strongly advise you shouldn't. These creatures might not be a problem but the thing inside that castle… If you killed too many of them it'll attract its attention."

The female giant pointed at the giant structure which gave off an eery atmosphere. " What's in there?" Iliriendil asked.

" I'm sorry I can't describe it in detail. This one only inherits the knowledge from my father. The thing inside that castle's not very strong but its ability's the main problem. Even if you can kill it, Great One, you'll still be on the lost side."

" So you're saying that we can't run, can't fight, and can't hide? In other words, just wait to die?"

" N-No! Of course not! I have a plan, b-but… "

The female giant took a peek at Ilirielth as Its voice quivered.

" W-we could trade her for our safety."

" Say that again?"

The murderous intent rose intensely making the female giant body shrank to a ball. Iliriendil almost decided to end the creature's life but the voice of Ilirielth stopped him. Her hand was holding one of his tentacles.

" Iliriendil, just listen to what she has to say."

Ilirielth voice sounded weird, she even refer to the creature as a human. Iliriendil wanted to say something but when he looked into her eyes, he swallowed his words.

" P-Please don't misunderstand, Great One. This one wouldn't dare think of harming her. What I meant was to negotiate with whoever was tasked to deal with us. Trust me those creatures are all greedy bastards they wouldn't want to share the trophy. They'll try to get us into the city quietly. Once we can get our foot into the city we will strike and head straight into the passage."

Many things could go wrong with the plan the female giant suggested.

" Your plan relied too much on how those creatures react. And we have no idea where the hidden passage is. How can you be so sure that it's still there and we can reach it before anything happen?"

" Please trust this one, I can't explain but I can guarantee that the passage is still there. About the other stuff, it's just as you said. It depended on who're we dealing with. But this's the only plan I can think of besides retreating to the old level."

They currently didn't have much time to waste so returning was out of an option but neither did Iliriendil want to put Ilirielth's safety at risk. Iliriendil had more confidence in killing whatever was inside the castle than in choosing that option.

" Let's just follow her plan." - Ilirielth said

" But…"

" Iliriendil, I know that you're worried about me but remember what happened last time when we fought those green creatures? If the opponent this time is something like that. Are you confident that you can fight… and keep me alive? "

" …"

Anger rose in Iliriendil's mind. Since he lived in this place he always thought he was strong and it was not a delusion, he was indeed strong, but his ability had too many limits. He never thought too much of them, only until now he had a thing to protect. Iliriendil slowly shook his head. He suddenly feels the warmth coming from Ilirielth's chest.

" Don't worry. Everything will be alright."

After another half an hour. No sight of any chaser. The female giant was saying something on a device that she took out from a helmet of a dead soldier.

" Good. They said they'll send a team to us. Please don't resist, they won't use any kind of anesthetic as long as we stay obediently."

When the female giant's words ended there were multiple strange metal boxes looking vehicles that came to where they were. Came out from them was a group of soldiers, this time they looked bigger. Their armor and weapons looked much more developed compared to old groups. Ilirielth gulped as she saw their levels which were on an average of 270. The leader of them was a woman. She was very beautiful with red eyes and ivory hair. The woman's eyes were cold as ice, she scanned through the group but rather than Ilirielth, her eyes stopped on Iliriendil. Not bothering to introduce her name, she signaled for Ilirielth to step forward. Just when Ilirielth stepped close to the woman. A terrible shock ran through her body as she instantly dropped to the ground. Her mouth foamed and her body convulsed.

" W-What." - The female giant gasped, could not understand what happened. A terrible murderous intent spread through the area but the group of soldiers didn't seem to be affected by it. The species 115 woman lifted Ilirielth on one hand as she calmly look at Iliriendil.

" I suggest that you don't do anything. If I die here this whole area will be wiped of existence."

The woman tapped on her neck. A light was blinking inside of it sending waves of some kind of signal.

" Do not resist."

She order a soldier walked to Iliriendil, he gritted his teeth but there was nothing he could do. He spent a long time watching the image of a giant fist swinging at his face.
