The Headbutt

"Kami invite you to the Lookout" Mr. Popo popped out of thin air, standing on his magic carpet.

"Oh." Kalan jumped onto the magic carpet.

*Swish* As if teleporting, the magic carpet moved at such high speed, in mere seconds, they arrived at the Lookout.

"Kalan, there is something I have yet to tell you. I made the mistake to not tell you before..." Kami sighed.

"Oh." Kalan knew what Kami was going to tell him.

"A long time ago, Piccolo and I were one person. We were the former Kami's apprentice, he was dying and we wanted to succeed as the next Kami. But Kami sensed the evil deep inside my heart. So, after extensive training, I was able to expel it. That evil was Piccolo. Later, I took the Kami's place, but Piccolo ran off..." Kami told his story.

"Because we were once the same person, Piccolo and I share the same look. I don't blame you for mixing up our identities. For certain reasons, I'm unable to stop Piccolo. Kalan, I know you're strong enough to defeat him, please kill Piccolo for the better good of the world." Kami requested Kalan.

"Kami..." Mr. Popo looked sad.

"This is nature's way, besides, it's my fault Piccolo has caused so much destruction and troubles to the world." Kami said guiltily.

"Kalan, you're the only one capable of killing Piccolo." Kami looked at Kalan.

"I'm not stupid... From the way you two talk, it's like you're dying too." Kalan said, even though he normally wouldn't be smart enough to grasp the truth from these few hints, he acted like he did since he already knew the truth. Piccolo and Kami shared the same life, if either of them died, the other will too.

"It's true! If Piccolo dies, Kami will also die, the reverse is also true." Mr. Popo hurriedly said with tears threatening to spill out of his eyes.

"Mr. Popo!" Kami said sternly.

"Kalan, even if I die, you can still revive me with the dragon balls." Kami persuaded.

"If only they will still exist after your death." Kalan rolled his eyes.

"I see... You already know... Then, I'll teach you the Evil Containment Wave, with this you will be able to seal Piccolo." Kami decided to have Kalan seal Piccolo instead, with Kalan's strength, overwhelming King Piccolo was no difficulty, he simply needed to seal him away to restore peace to the world.

"The sky turned dark!" Yamcha yelled. The only reason the sky would turn day during day was when Shenron was summoned.

"Oh no! What about Kalan? He was searching for the dragon balls!" Bulma was worried.

"Kalan has no reason to summon Shenron, our plans was gather the dragon balls and use them to lure King Piccolo. Then all of us would attack him together..." Master Roshi said with a serious face.

"King Piccolo must have killed Kalan!" Oolong shouted in fear.

"Shut up! Kalan isn't dead! Waaaah!" Bulma cried.

"Teacher..." Nam looked sorrowful.

"We need to prepare... I'll teach you Evil Containment Wave." Master Roshi said to the group. He had originally intended to keep it a secret and use it if they failed to defeat King Piccolo. But now it seems that Kalan had succumbed, their chances of success is now close to nil. All they can hope is they succeed in sealing King Piccolo, and whoever dies will then be revived through the dragon balls.

"Bulma, we aren't sure if we'll survive. I'll leave the search of dragon balls to you. Find them and revive us all. Goku, Kalan..." Master Roshi entrusted Bulma.

"Good, you've mastered Evil Containment Wave! Here, use this bottle." Kami smiled and handed Kalan a new small bottle with the red seals written "Demon King Sealing." It was the same seals written on the paper talisman stuck on the rice cooker Master Roshi used in his attempt to seal King Piccolo in the story. In order to make sure there was no problems, Kami materialized a new bottle instead of using the old one Kalan had used in training the technique. It seems the evil containers are all quite easily damaged, no wonder after Tien Shinhan successfully mastering the Evil Containment Wave, his rice cooker was damaged and unusable in the story.

"Alright, I'll be going then!" Kalan waved his hand and jumped down the Lookout.

"How should I do this? Hm... I need to make sure King Piccolo spawns his son... Otherwise, if I just seal him, it'll mess up the story greatly..." Kalan was in deep thought as he flew down the sky.

"Goku is fighting Piccolo? Let's see how it goes first." Kalan sensed for King Piccolo's Ki and found both Goku and him fighting in King Castle in Central City. He hid nearby and watched the fight unfold. He wasn't in a hurry anyway, in worst case he'll beat up King Piccolo and then find a way to make him spawn Piccolo Jr.

The fight were rather equal, but due to Goku being unable to fly, when King Piccolo blasted the whole city, Goku couldn't escape in time and was caught in the explosion. Goku continued punching King Piccolo as he got more and more injured as King Piccolo blasted strong Ki attacks at Goku. Both were badly injured and exhausted, Goku was more injured and less exhausted. While King Piccolo was less injured but more exhausted due to the high expenditure of his Ki attacks.

"Seems like they were equal, and Goku only managed to stay in a better shape due to Tien Shinhan's interference. But the very same reason put Goku evened out..." Kalan thought. Goku's state was similar to how he was due to Tien Shinhan being held hostage in the story. He had had the advantage when Tien Shinhan had flown Goku up in the air to avoid the explosion that destroyed the city, but in return Tien Shinhan was held hostage and King Piccolo managed to injure Goku badly,

Due to being caught is several explosion of King Piccolo's Ki beams, Goku's whole body was badly wounded, but unlike in the story, his limbs could still move, but not good enough to punch hard or kick.

King Piccolo charged down from the sky to kill the weakened Goku.

Goku created two mini Kamehamehas, one in each hand and flew up like a rocket, he squeezed out all his potentials and energy. Kalan seemed to be seeing an illusory great ape appear behind Goku and roar as he gathered all his strength in his head and headbutted a hole through King Piccolo.

King Piccolo spit out an egg far away, it flew toward the woods in the distance. After spitting out the egg, he muttered a few words about revenge before exploding into dust.

"Great, why would I need to interfere when everything happened just naturally." Kalan smiled and flew toward the falling Goku.

"Kalan!" Goku saw Kalan hold him while floating down slowly from the sky.

"You did well, I saw your fight." Kalan praised and healed Goku.

"Wow! I'm all healed!" Goku happily waved around his limbs, all the pains that wracked his body had disappeared and his body was filled with energy again.

Kalan could see a plane flying toward them, he sensed their Ki and knew it was Master Roshi, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu and Nam.

"Ugh, how am I to explain everything... I'll push all the blame on Kami." Kalan thought quietly in his mind. He didn't follow their plan and disappeared instead.

"Krillin, I've avenged you..." Goku had tears in his eyes.

"Kalan, Piccolo said he killed Shenron..." Goku said in a downcast tone. He had originally intended to gather the dragon balls and revive Krillin, but if Shenron was dead, how was he supposed to revive Krillin?

"Don't worry, I know who can revive Shenron." Kalan smiled.

"Really?" Goku's eyes widened in shock.

"Yes, first, take your staff with you. Go see Korin, he will explain everything to you." Kalan used telekinesis and grabbed Goku's staff lying around the rubbles and handed it to Goku.

"Where going back to Korin Tower!?" Yajirobe had apparently come as well, maybe he was worried about Goku after all.

"Let's go, Yajirobe!" Goku grabbed Yajirobe and jumped on his cloud and flew toward Korin.
