Insidious Vegeta

Seeing how the Saiyans didn't intent to fight, they sighed in relief, after having a few banters, they bid farewell and split up.

Originally, Raditz had been worried, but Vegeta had somehow forgiven him. However, he knew how ruthless Vegeta is. So he immediately found a secluded place and contacted Vegeta, he hoped the information he gives Vegeta will make him so happy he would forgive him completely, and even if his group lost. He could probably come back to Vegeta's group again. After all, the dragon balls was so magical. According to Krillin, it was able to grant any wish. If it wasn't for them not mentioning where they were, he would have secretly wished for immortality already.

Kalan found Piccolo, Goku and Gohan's Ki and met up with them.

"Huh, there was no fight...?" Kalan asked curiously, he hadn't sensed any fight and found the group had split up.

"It seems Vegeta wasn't that heartless and cruel. He said it was fine if we don't want to follow him." Gohan smiled, he was relieved they did not have to battle to the death.

"Vegeta... What are you planning?" Kalan thought. He wasn't a genius and had no way to know what Vegeta was thinking. But he felt like Vegeta wasn't that kind to let them off just like that. But after hearing he gave Raditz a spare scouter, he could vaguely tell what was going to happen soon.

"Even if I don't know what he's planning, but Raditz might tell Vegeta about the dragon balls. So in the end we'll still fight. I bet they can't control their greed once they learn of the dragon balls." Kalan inwardly nodded. He believed he had already speculated correctly.

Piccolo went to a secluded place to meditate. Goku and Gohan went back home, they hadn't met Chi Chi for a year now and Gohan especially missed her mother.

"Well I doubt it'll be long before they act..." Kalan took care of some business in his dojo before flying to Mt. Paozu as well. He intend to train Gohan a bit until the fight began.

The rest of the group was mostly focused on continuing their training, Krillin, Yamcha and Chiaotzu were mostly focusing on learning Kaioken. Tien Shinhan was training his Kaioken technique in the gravity chamber to improve his proficiency. Since they four of them shared 2 gravity chambers and brought them along in their capsule forms when they were waiting for the battle. They didn't mind training wherever they were, so they trained close to the place they had chosen as their battlefield.

"Hahaha!" Vegeta and Nappa closed the communication link with Raditz. They had just finished talking with Raditz.

"Do you think the dragon balls are real?" Nappa asked Vegeta.

"They should be, there's no reason for Kalan to take a weak Namekian as his student if it wasn't for this. I've heard that Namekians have mysterious and magical abilities that were miraculous." Vegeta speculated.

"I see! Kalan must have taken monopoly over the dragon balls. Even that earthling voicing his opinion to kill us with the dragon balls were immediately rejected by the Namekian." Nappa nodded in understanding.

"Hehehe, luckily Kalan is a Saiyan. If a cowardly earthling really wished for our death. We would be the only Saiyans dying by the most ridiculous reasons." Vegeta had cold sweat seeping out his back. Unfortunately they did not know the dragon balls did not have the power to kill them as Kami was way too weak. They got scared for nothing.

"Damn it! How dare those insects even think of killing us!" Nappa was hotheaded as usual.

"But we should personally interrogate the earthlings quickly. I believe Kalan have started collecting the dragon balls, otherwise he would also be with the group. Raditz said he left as soon as he heard we were going to arrive soon." Vegeta speculated.

"You think he's going to wish for our death?" Nappa wondered.

"No you fool. He's a proud Saiyan. He'll definitely not do something so humiliating. He might wish for immortality. Once that happens, with his Saiyan blood, he will become the strongest. Think about the endless Zenkais he will achieve without any risk of death!" Vegeta said.

*Bibibip* Vegeta scanned with his scouter.

"Hehehe. Perfect opportunity. The group have split up, Raditz told me the Namekian and Saiyans left the group. Those four should be the earthlings, let's take care of them first." Vegeta smiled.

"Great, I've been looking forward to a battle!" Nappa clenched his fist in excitement.

"Nappa, your battle power is only 8,400. These earthlings' battle power are all over 5,000. They are also able to manipulate their Ki, you better not let your guard down." Vegeta reminded.

"I know." Nappa nodded.

"We had better be quick, they can sense Ki without scouters, if they don't spill the secrets of dragon balls. Just kill them, I don't want any additional variables." Vegeta said. He was still wary of Kalan's strength.

Vegeta and Nappa flew rapidly toward the four earthlings.

"Hey, those are the Saiyans' Ki!" Yamcha yelled.

"What do they want?" Krillin wondered.

"Let's be on our guards!" Tien Shinhan stared solemnly at the distance as two small dots quickly grew in size.

"What do you guys want?" Yamcha yelled when he saw Vegeta and Nappa land.

"Hehehe, we heard you guys have some kind of wish orbs called dragon balls. Would you be so kind to enlighten me about it?" Vegeta smirked.

"Damn it! How do they know?" Krillin shouted in surprise.

"It must be Raditz! That bastard! He received that scouter!" Yamcha said. They had heard Vegeta say to Raditz that he could contact them with the scouter.

"That bastard!" Krillin cursed Raditz.

"Hehehe, you guessed correct. Quick! Tell us everything you know about these dragon balls and I'll let you live." Vegeta said.

"What do you want to wish?" Krillin asked warily.

"Immortality! Don't worry, once we have gotten our wish we'll leave this planet." Vegeta lied. He intends to kill everyone after getting his wish.

"No way! We don't trust you!" Yamcha yelled and put his hands up in guard, he could sense the hostility these two Saiyans emitted.

"Suit yourself! Die!" Nappa impatiently rush forward toward Yamcha.

"Careful!" Tien Shinhan felt the strong Ki from Nappa and warned Yamcha. He was the strongest of the group and had also learned Kaioken. He prepared to intercept Nappa.

"Don't worry! Let me handle him!" Yamcha said confidently. Tien Shinhan stopped in his tracks.

"You damnable insects dare to look down on me!?" Nappa was angry upon seeing a mere earthling dare fight him alone.

*Bang Bang* The two fought at high speed, Yamcha was losing by a bit, but he managed to hold on as he received new wounds every now and then.

*Bibibip* Nappa and Vegeta's scouter beeped as it measured Yamcha's battle power.

"What! It's actually over 7,000!" Nappa was shocked, he believed the earthlings had a battle power of 5,000 earlier could only slightly raise their battle power, but not this much. His own battle power was only 8,400. He would be in trouble if more of the earthlings fought him. But the most humiliating part was that he had trouble to just defeat one earthling.

"Enough!" Vegeta got impatient, he worried that the rest of the group would find out about their fight soon.

Vegeta rushed forward and punched Yamcha once, incapacitating him.

"Gua-" Yamcha grunted as he fell to the ground.

"What!? He did in Yamcha in just one punch!" Krillin yelled in shock.

"Let me handle him! Chiaotzu, Krillin you two take care of the big guy. Don't worry guys, with such a big commotion, Goku and Kalan will notice the battle and come soon!" Tien Shinhan could feel just how great Vegeta's Ki was. He was the only one in the group that had learned Kaioken and had a chance to fight Vegeta. He encouraged the group before charging at Vegeta.
