The Light Scale

I don't know how many hours I passed out, but I can tell you that my physical and mental state was miserable... Physically, it was as if I had run a marathon in Seville at 45 degrees in the summer; mentally, I was sore and my head hurt from the previous effort. 

I was still in the room; the remains of the monster were scattered everywhere. I got up as best I could and went to check the room, now, that there was no danger, nor was there a dangerous darkness around me. In a corner near where the body of the Nightmare materialized, there was a strange circle on the ground. I couldn't decipher it, but I had no doubt that it was some kind of invocation.

When I got closer, Data's voice echoed in my head.

I didn't even have the strength to meditate, I didn't have the strength even to breath but I musr to do it, plus that would give me some peace of mind.

The energy of dreams felt strange, it could even tell you that the reality of that world or that body became clearer, more understandable.

I didn't manage to complete the core but I extracted every last drop of that energy I could, So leaving, the work with that the dream core Will need to grow, for the Lion of the Future its the best option. I crawled towards the hallway.

There was all my loot and profit... I activated my detect magic ability.

The two-handed sword radiated five different magical auras, it could recognize air, lightning, water, but not the other two.

The shining metal shield was adorned with engravings and radiated strong earth magic.

The two short swords gave off a sharp magic, although I couldn't know what it was. I only imagined it because of how cold they were.

The black jade bow of a somewhat baroque ornamental taste for my taste emitted powerful wind magic.

The plate armor was too heavy and uncomfortable for my taste, but the quality was noticeable. It was hot to the touch, but I couldn't identify what it was, although I assumed it was fire magic.

The staff with a dark blue orb at its end was clearly the water element.

The glowing gem was linked to will magic and psychic magic.

The Morningstar emitted pulses of stone and lightning magic.

The whip had air magic infused into it.

Luckily, the backpack emitted space magic (if that was what I thought, there would be no more problems carrying all the junk)

The knife game with wind and space magic

The belt with emanations of life magic

The robe emanated magic, but I couldn't identify it; I didn't like the feeling anyway.

The majestic cloak that had darkness magic and other additional magic that I didn't recognize

The spear had water magic; well, lightning would have been cooler, or even the wind, but gaining the penetrating power of water wasn't bad.

The crown, or diadem, gave off psychic magic

The hood didn't give off any magic that I knew of.

The gloves surprised me; on the one hand, they had an unknown magic, but on the other, they emanated a clear metal mana

The book with runes on the cover only gave off temporary magic, a magic that had just been felt by the magic of dreams.

The glasses only had willpower, but in huge quantities, more than any other item in my loot.

Although, without knowing what they were or what they did, they were of little use to me, all the objects fit in my new dimensional backpack. I also kept my old backpack and the items I didn't need inside.

Would the other players have been able to collect all the objects like I did? Or would they have followed the dynamic of taking one alone and passing the test? Would those who were greedy have died as it seemed expected with that monster?

It didn't make sense to think about it all, but after accomplishing the feat of emptying the room, I knew I had laid a good foundation for my future.

I don't think that the sight of the loot recovered me physically, perhaps my spirit... but little else.

I continued moving down the hallway until I reached another door. The main offensive magic I had was exhausted. If there was a fight, I would have to rely on luck and my imagination.

The room was small, no more than 3x3 meters; five small pedestals in a row with a stone on top were in the middle of the room; and on the opposite wall, the pendant was held by five metal rings...

I took a deep breath and examined the gems; nothing unusual, not even on the pedestals... Even though I was a player without physical skills, I still hated puzzles. Although my electric mana reserve was empty, thanks to the hours of sleep after fainting, I had enough to make a small spark. I moved my hand to the first gem and released the spark. The gem lit up with an inner force and stayed that way. Since I still didn't have fire mana, I resorted to the handy lighter; when I brought the flame closer, the gem also lit up.

So far, he had overcome the obvious, but only two of the iron rings had broken free from the pendant.

If I wanted to pass the test, I had to think like an inhabitant of a magical and mystical world. What could I shed light on besides the obvious? Give birth... give birth.... life, that was a common and valid response. The gem reacted to my life mana by lighting up... Okay, this one was easy and obvious, but let's see how the logic works for the other two...

I had been playing games, especially RPGs, since I was a child. No matter how much the stories tried to be original, it was difficult to really surprise with this genre, so let's think about topics to resolve the issue, because it couldn't be something so dramatic or so strange that I didn't have a way to get it...

At first, and thinking about not failing with the energy I put in (it was not a question of failing the test), I couldn't think of any idea... an idea... I don't know how it will be said in other languages or if the word can be translated. Said, but in Spanish, to have an idea was called in another way, "turn on the light bulb."

I projected some psyche mana onto the stone, and it lit up.

Come on Lion, you can do it... just one more... the will illuminates the world... no that wasn't it... the light travels through space, too scientific for a fantasy world... the Metal conducts the electricity that makes light, buffff that sounded worse, water shines when the light hits it, indirect and inconsistent, stone constructions illuminate the story, it didn't even make sense to me.... Lion thinks... that It would give you a way out if you are in the dark... darkness... light has no meaning without its opposite...

I concentrated some darkness mana on the last stone and it lit up. Phew, I had started to sweat...

The pendant was unlocked and fell to the ground. One less test... I was tired, I had already gotten two side quests, so a level three core was enough for me... if I noticed something at the next door I would ignore it...

Indeed, my hair stood on end a little at the next door; it wouldn't have been enough to not enter if it weren't for fatigue and my low mana reserves...

I ignored this and the next door and moved forward until I saw the scale room.
