Chapter 118:

A/N: I'm back with another chapter, and let me just say, having minimal memory or motivation sucks. But nonetheless here is another chapter. I will admit that I've been a bit frustrated the past couple of days from some not so great comments ridiculing the work I've put in for this. I know this story isn't the best, and won't ever be, but at least I'm trying here. I'll never get why people are so quick to hate on things they don't like. But enough of my complaining, I hope you're all doing well and having a good day thus far. Rhino out.

Ruby: "What's wrong Uncle Qrow?"

Qrow: "The Staff of Creation is what's keeping Atlas in the air. We take it away and the city falls."

Everyone: "…"

Topaz: "So we do what we trained for."

Nova: "What's that?"

Topaz: "We be the huntsmen and huntresses we trained to be. We fight against the grimm Salem throws at us, we save everyone we can."

Everyone gets a glint in their eye when that's said, and they give a firm nod. The only person the looks any different is Qrow.

Qrow: "Don't get me wrong kiddos, I'm all for the fairy tail endings… but how on Remnant do you plan on doing this? As much as I want to believe that Ironwood will be fooled by this, I don't think it will be the only problem. Ironwood had Watts mess with Penny, he's the reason she keeps having those glitches. And if I know anything, he has some sort of program that would eliminate Penny once she has the staff in her hands."

Ruby: "So Penny doesn't grab the staff then."

Oscar quietly makes his way in front of the group and clears his throat to grab everyone's attention.

Oscar: "Ozpin says he has something to say on that front."

Ozpin: "Thank you Oscar. Right, I believe that your group has the right idea with this. Something I would like to point out is like Jinn in the lamp, the staff has its own… unique personality within."

Weiss: "Unique?"

Ozpin: "He's the type to take everything at base value, and will only do what you ask of him. He will not read between the lines."

Ariel: "So with whatever we ask of him we will more than likely need blueprints, or plans for what to do. Or be overly descriptive to not lead to any issues."

Ozpin: "Very astute miss Tumaki."

Topaz: "Qrow. You said Ironwood had Watts hack Penny. How did he do it?"

Qrow: "Ironwood had one of those blades Penny uses. And from what I was able to overhear, they are all connected to her system, even if they are out of range."

Topaz: "Is there a way to disconnect that blade in particular from her system?"

Ozpin: "A different approach, and one that might work."

Qrow: "If we could get the plans Dr. Polendina has on her, we might be able to figure something out."

Topaz: "So we need to get down to Mantle. Do you and Robyn still have that airship Qrow?"

Robyn: "No, we don't. Because someone decided it would be funny to land on a beowolf."

Qrow: "Well it was funny. And how was I supposed to know there was a group of centinels below it."

Topaz: "Enough. So, we don't have the airship, that leaves me to go and find the plans."

Ruby: "True, but you can make yourself into that huge nevermore again to carry some of us down with you."

Topaz: "I could yes, but I don't think it's the best idea given the current conflicts going around Atlas."

Ozpin: "I have to agree with Topaz. It would also be more beneficial to get it done quickly with no one else knowing what our plans are."

Qrow: "I'll come along then. The two of us should be able to take care of anything thrown at us."

Topaz: "Works for me. The sooner we do this the sooner we can help Penny."

Waving goodbye to everyone Topaz and Qrow rush out of the mansion and make their way towards the Mantle edge of Atlas before leaping off. With the two transforming into birds the trip downwards was quick and easy. Landing outside of the Polendina clinic they make their way inside and begin looking for the plans. Qrow begins opening every drawer and skimming the files while Topaz takes the terminal at the main desk.

Qrow: "These are all patient files. Nothing on Penny."

Topaz: "I think I've got it here."

Qrow looks over Topaz's shoulder and begins reading the file Topaz has pulled up.

Qrow: "You've got to be kidding me."

Topaz: "That was my first thought as well. And done. I've got the file copied over. We're good to head back."

Qrow: "Good work kid."

The two make their way back onto the street and look around before jumping out of the way of a sabyr that lunged towards them. Qrow makes quick work of the lone grimm before looking around for more. Seeing nothing he looks towards Topaz.

Qrow: "Looks like he was alone. Let's get going."

Topaz: "I would hold off on that, we have company."

Qrow: "Huh?"

The building next to them suddenly bursts towards the street, and a massive goliath looks towards them. With a shake of hits head the grimm howls to any grimm in the area. In a matter of seconds groups of sabyr and beowolves stand before the large grimm all looking towards Topaz and Qrow.

Qrow: "Brothers above."

Topaz: "Qrow, I'm going to toss a fire dust crystal in the middle of the small ones. Take the shot to cause the most damage possible then get behind me."

Qrow: "Sounds reckless but what the hell."

Tossing a glowing red crystal into the air the grimm in the area all look towards it with curiosity. After a few seconds it begins falling into the group, bouncing off the head of a beowolf who howls in pain and anger. Using that time Qrow fires a single shot at the crystal, detonating it in a ball of fire, and then jumps behind Topaz. Topaz calmly spins his spear while looking at the cloud of dust and smoke. Thrusting forwards he stabs a sabyr that rushes him from the smoke, then rolls out of the way of an incoming beowolf that Qrow makes quick work of. The two continue holding off the sabyr and beowolves before the cloud obscuring the grimm's vision fades away. The right side of the goliaths face is charred from the dust explosion and the creature looks livid.

Qrow: "Uh… Topaz. I think you pissed it off."

Topaz: "That was the plan."

Qrow: "WHAT?!"

The goliath rushes towards the two, crushing the last of the sabyr and beowolves under its feet. As it gets close to them, Topaz and Qrow dive out of the way. Topaz slashes at the goliaths belly as it goes by.

Qrow: "Kid, you're only going to make it angrier with that."

Topaz: "Wait for it."

Qrow: "Wait for what exactly?"

The goliath turns to them once more and begins rushing. Topaz doesn't move an inch as it gets closer and closer.

Qrow: "Kid, move!"

The goliath suddenly tenses up and falls onto its side, slowly turning gray before bursting into the usual black dust. Qrow looks towards Topaz with wide eyes.

Qrow: "Okay Topaz, what the hell was that."

Topaz: "I told you guys I was able to harm Salem. I did the same thing to that thing."

Qrow: "What did you do exactly?"

Topaz: "I don't have the same silver eye ability as Summer and Ruby, but my eyes still have power. I just used that power through my aura, sending it through my spear into the wound I inflicted on the goliath."

Qrow's eyes go wide before he bursts into laughter.

Qrow: "You really are something else kid, now come on. We have a robot to help."

Topaz: "I think she's more along the lines of an android."

Qrow: "Same difference kid."

Topaz: "No, there's a big difference."

Qrow: "I know there is. You know what, just shut up until we get there."

Topaz: "Sore loser."

With a huff Qrow changes into a crow and takes to the sky with Topaz right behind him. After a short flight the two land outside of the Schnee mansion. They knock on the door and are quickly let in.

Ruby: "Did you get them?"

Topaz: "We did, and it will be easier than we were anticipating."

Ariel: "Really?"

Topaz: "Yep."

Ruby: "So what do we need to do."

Qrow: "We turn her off and then back on again."

Ruby: "What?"
