Unravelment of Cariosity

"Burn the sacrifice! Offer him to the new god! The true god!" Incantes an old lady as two orange clad priests carry a screaming man towards a cauldron of burning fire.

"Let him be reborn as the second son of Nebinar, for flesh is only a hindrance of his true manifestation, chant with me my brothers; and sisters!" Screamed the old lady while the two priests kneeled by the fire, holding the man up next to its devilish tendrils.

The chorus chanted as the priests rose, ready to finish the ritual of their beloved god. "Let him be embraced Nebinar! Let his hands purge the filth of Denair out of his very soul; nigh done is the rite!"

"Then let his will be forged, cast flesh into flame; hear the screams of purification!" Cantillated the old woman as she watched the priests lay the man within the fire's sacred pit.

"It shrieks!" "Nebinar has accepted our most humble gift, he claims him as his own!" Laughed the old woman as she looked up at the sky to meet Nebinar's eyes.

"My lord, we offer only our most gracious thanks for killing the scourge that had plauged our town for oh so many years; how may we repay you?" Smiled Enoch as he looked up at the figure of Imogen, the sun blocking her visage.

"Uhh... I don't think I'm a lord, you might want to take another look." Suggested Imogen while streching out her arms, and sliding down the sand dune she was on.

"Oh please accept my dearest apologies madame, the third sun was preventing me from seeing your true visage in its entirety; what do you desire for compensation?" Inquired Enoch as he held a golden heirloom up to Imogen, offering it to her.

"I need naught for a reward, for I don't deserve it, so keep your trinkets; and give them to someone more worthy." Denied Imogen while pulling out the key that had materialized in her pocket a few minutes before.

An old man pushed his way to the front of the crowd with a frown plastered onto his face, and snarled. "Are you saying that saving hundreds of lives is trivial to you, do you think a reward is only worthy of a thousand lives saved; you insult the dead!"

"Father!" "Don't insult her kindness, she's done so much for us... I beg you; swallow your pride just this once." Pleaded Enoch as the vibrant smile faded from his lips.

"No, it's quite alright; I can see why'd you think that... I mean no disrespect." Mumbled Imogen while combing the sand out of her hair, and trying to smile.

"I claim no reward not because the task I completed is not deserving of it, but because I myself am the one who's not worthy." Sighed Imogen as a bright metallic blue door suddenly appeared in front of her.

"Oh, and sorry for taking The King Of The Dunes' corpse, it was simply an act of curiousness; one plagued with emotion." Grumbled Imogen while turning the door knob, and entering The Dimension Of The Eternal Hunger.

"Hoist those sails boy, we need a cabin boy; not a snail!" Shouted a man as he walked up to The Rebellious One with an exaggerated frown on his face.

"I'm sorry Mr. Morzan, I'll pick up the pace immediately!" Complied The Rebellious One while looking at the man with fear.

"You better, or else I'll cut your hands off; and raise the sail myself!" Grinned Morzan as he put one hand over the other, and showed The Rebellious One what it'd be like to hoist a sail with another's hand.

"You're scaring him Morzan, at this rate; he'll tire out before all the sails have been raised." Objected Craigen while walking up to The Rebellious One, and showing him how to hoist the sails up more effectively instead.

"Heh, this place looks different... that old geezer must have some really bad taste." Chuckled Imogen as she looked around the gloomy library in disappointment.

A scowl was soon seen on Imogen's face after hearing several shrieks resound around the library. "But perhaps I'd like it better if there wasn't all this distasteful shrieking, it really irks me... how am I supposed to hear Clarence's screams when there's thousands of them breaking my eardrums!"

"... Speaking of Clarence, I don't get why he's still here, I thought it made sense at first; but now I realize that he probably should've left by now." Pointed out Imogen while pulling a book off one of the shelves, and watching the dust settle onto the floor.

"He always manages to find himself in some kind of trouble... sort of like me, but at a lesser extent." Mused Imogen as she slid the book back in its place, and heared a faint ligernace of Clarence's voice coming from the direct left of her.

"Well, the one good thing about Clarence is that he's loud, very loud; it makes him easy for me to find." Admitted Imogen while shifting left towards a pathway filled with old rotting bookcases.

"No, no, no; that isn't how you steer at all... by Denair you're hopeless." Griped a man as he fruitlessly tried to teach The Rebellious One how to steer.

"But I thought you said I was supposed turn the wheel left..."

"You were, but after you avoided the wave; there was a rock; a rock that you had to turn right to avoid!" Raged the man while taking the wheel from The Rebellious One, and grumbling as Craigen walked up.

"Now, now Pajin, not everyone is gifted in the way of the wheel; some can never learn it." Twinkled Craigen as he slapped The Rebellious One on the back, knocking the air out of him.

"You're only saying that because you couldn't learn how to steer either, always crashing the damn training ships." Grumbled Pajin while ramming the boat through a giant squid, one in the lower tiers.

"Agh, don't listen to him kid, he's a sorry sort; some say his mother was a 𝘏𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘴." Laughed Craigen as Pajin's scowl deepened.

"Is this place a fricken maze, I've trying to find Clarence for the last hour!" Fumed Imogen while pushing over a bookcase, and making her own path.

"Oh... why didn't I just think of pushing over the bookcases in the first place, I have to remember that this isn't game." Coughed Imogen as she caught a glimpse of Clarence, and Augustine fighting.

"Finally, I found him, it only took killing a fricking colossal sand beast, and all my metal fortitude!" Fumed Imogen while watching as Clarence's blade took on a radiant glow.

"Wait, is Clarence's blade glowing... is this some light verses dark crap; I bet Denair is having fun." Muttered Imogen while sitting down on a fallen bookcase, and pulling out a book.

"Well, I'm going to be total dick; and sit here while reading a book until he's about to die." Chortled Imogen as she opened the book, and started to read while Clarence battled Augustine for survival.

~~~
"Great job, it looks like you've gained a lot of muscle mass these pass few days; well enough to finally hold the great axe that is." Congratulated Craigen as he watched The Rebellious One hold a great axe with only some slight strain.
"Now you have to swing it... but the most important thing is not hitting the target; rather, not dropping it on your foot will your true aim here." Instructed Craigen while watching The Rebellious One's body sway, and tip over as he swung the massive axe.
~~~

"Well, It looks like Clarence is losing... and all the lights are going out; I better put an end to this now." Yawned Imogen as she got up, and snuck behind the distracted Agustine so she could mess with him.

"Hey, you know; it would be nice if you didn't do that." Chuckled Imogen while tapping Agustine on the shoulder, and grinning.

"Enjoy my halberd in your face... maybe if you're lucky, the aether will be kind on you." Sneered Imogen as The Cursed Blade flew up, and blocked her blow.

"You fool, you missed your only chance at living; only a dunce would announce their attack!" Snarled Agustine while turning to face Imogen.

"Oh, I know; it isn't any fun though if I kill my prey without struggle!" Cackled Imogen as she used Stance Of The Unrelenting Inanition to block an attack, and cut off Augustine's left arm.

"See, now we're even; and the real battle can begin!" Howled Imogen while pushing Agustine into the defensive.

"No!" "What are you, I thought you were only a second evolution creature; my vessal is not ready for this fight yet!" Cried Augustine as Imogen cut off his other arm.

"You seem like a pretty crap tier creature if you ask me, this is really quite boring; I thought you'd be more of challenge." Snickered Imogen while cutting off both of Augustine's legs.

"It matters not, for I've found you to be a much more... suitable host; prepare to be the holy vessal of a god!" Bellowed Agustine as The Cursed Blade flew up, and seemed to phase into Imogen's halberd.

What are you talking about... I didn't miss a chapter.
