Ajax breathed a sigh of relief; the abomination was finally dead. Ajax didn't waste a second and gutted the beast, taking out the edible parts and packing them in his bag. After his little scavenge, he left the place as quickly as possible because abominations are sensitive to the smell of blood and a beast of that rank will surely attract a lot of attention.

'There are a lot of notifications, but I will check them when I am safe.' He got back to his cave and collapsed. He was tired from the battle and his astral energy was barely half. After resting for a while, he summoned the system and checked the notifications.

Ajax decided to continue sleeping. The next morning, Ajax continued his exploration. His main priority was to find a lake or river to get water from. In the afternoon, Ajax finally found a lake... However, that lake had an abomination guarding it. Luckily, the monster seemed to be an Awakened rank, giving Ajax a higher chance to kill it.

'An awakened rank abomination... can I kill it if I face it now? No,no,no, let's not be hasty and do this in a more safe manner.' Ajax looked at his surroundings to see if he could use anything in his environment. While looking, Ajax accidentally stepped on a berry. The berry was red and it produced a small gas fog when crushed.

'That could work.' Ajax gathered as many berries as possible and launched his attack. He threw berries near the abomination, blinding it with fog. Ajax sprinted and made a noise towards the nearby tree. This distraction caused the beast to lunge at the tree, thinking it was the attacker. The beast and the tree fell down. Ajax took this chance and sprinted towards the monster, cutting off one of its legs.

The duration of the fog had already ended, blowing his cover away. The beast tried standing up and realized its leg was gone. The beast used one of its claws as a stabilizer.

"Shit, this one is smart!" Ajax didn't waste a moment and coated his legs. He sprinted towards the beast, dodging its other claws. Ajax saw a massive swipe coming his way, so he slid across the grass,coated his arms and delivered a devastating blow to the side of the beast. The beast screamed in agony and went berserk. It threw its claws everywhere and hit Ajax, causing him to launch towards the nearby tree.

Ajax tasted something metallic in his mouth. His vision was dizzy, but he stood up and fought the pain. The monster lunged at him with tremendous speed. Ajax expected this and rolled to the side. With the beast's momentum, it hit the tree and destroyed it. Ajax ran towards the beast, drawing a clean arc. He managed to destroy its other claw. With its other claw gone, it stumbled and fell on the grass, unable to balance itself.

Ajax noticed the beast's skin was slowly turning black and melting. Ajax rejoiced because the corrosion was already taking effect. Ajax circled the beast and delivered multiple slashes on its body, making the corrosion take effect faster. Soon the beast wasn't able to move as its body was already melting. It was dead.

Effects: Provides the user with low corrosion defense, causing anything that comes into contact with the user to slowly corrode.

"This is a good skill!" Ajax stood up, got some water and left the scene quickly to avoid unnecessary attraction.

After securing his water, Ajax prioritized hunting abominations as it strengthens his heritage.

Ajax knew that in order to get stronger he would have to hunt. However most of the monsters in this place weren't ordinary. Most of them were at predator rank above the weakest being Awakened abominations.

The next morning, Ajax started hunting, finding abominations. While exploring, Ajax found something interesting in the distance: a massive wall.

Could there be a sanctuary there? Ajax contemplated for a while.

"Looks like my next goal is that place afterall."

Ajax stood up and prepared for his journey.
