I head back to the common room. I can't believe he didn't destroy it as soon as possible. I wonder who's house elf it was, and who has the book. I reach the common room door and use the knocker.
"What is it that given one, you'll have either two or none?" The door asked.
"A choice." I reply, thinking it was way too easy.
"Good answer." It said, and the door opened.
I see Ginny and Luna waiting, I walk up and tell them everything. Once I've finished, Ginny gets a strange look.
"How can someone so powerful, be so careless. I mean if he kept it on him, then no one would be able to steal it." Ginny said, with an incredulous look.
"Just because he's powerful, doesn't mean old age hasn't caught up to him." Luna said, looking serious for the first time since we met her.
"Luna's right, no one can hide from Father Time." I say, thinking about how fragile he looked. "But that isn't the point, we've got a evil thing on the loose in the school, and we have no idea about it's whereabouts or what it even does."
Time passes slowly, and Halloween arrives. We leave the common room, for the feast in the Great Hall.
"I think something is going on with Rose." I say, as we walk.
"Yeah there might be something going on or it might just be stress." Ginny said, looking at it in a different way.
"And the fact she is always first out and last in." Luna said.
"Next time I see her, I'll use my eye ability. That might be able to shed light on things." I say, starting to get a headache.
Why did he trust a bunch of first years with this, I'm sure there is something else, but what? I know my eye ability will help, but he could find it even without that. It's something we've discussed to death, and I'm still nowhere near an answer. I just sigh and Luna pats my back.
"I'm ok Luna, it's just me being a bit stressed. Thank you though." I said, smiling at Luna.
"Just remember me and Ginny are here to help." She said, still patting my back.
Just before we get to the Great Hall, we see Harry, Ron and Hermione, they seem to be going somewhere else.
"Where are you three going?" Ginny asked, looking at them.
"I promised Nearly Headless Nick, that I'll go to his death day party." Harry said, with a sigh.
"You know there is no edible food at a death day party, right?" I ask, remembering what mum told me.
"Wait what, that sucks." Ron said, as his stomach grows.
"Ok I'll be nice and tell you something dad told me. Go through that door." I say, pointing towards it. "You'll see a painting of a fruit bowl, tickle the pear and it'll take you to the kitchen's."
"Your dad sure knows a lot of things about Hogwarts." Ron said, with a smile.
"Yep and be nice to the house elf's or else." I threaten the three of them.
They nodded and walk towards the dungeons, and we entered the Great Hall. As we were eating, I looked up and down the table, but couldn't find Rose anywhere. I confirm it with Ginny and Luna, and finished eating. Leaving the Great Hall we see Harry, Ron and Hermione looking a bit strange. Before I could ask, we hear a scream from the second floor.
Everyone rushed there, only to see a dead looking cat, hung from a torch rack. We then saw a message on the wall that says. 'The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir, beware.' I use my eye ability, and look around.
"Something's off, the magic in the air is wrong? I really don't know how to describe it, but it's not normal." I say, looking around.
"Dumbledore's here." Luna said, pointing.
"Professor Dumbledore, I need to talk to you." I say, walking up to him.
"Ok then, follow me to my office.…" he starts, but I interrupt.
"Sir the magic here is wrong, I might be able to track it." I say, looking at him.
"Ok then lead the way." He said, with a soft smile.
I follow the strange magic, and it leads to the second floor girls bathroom. I try to enter when Dumbledore stops me.
"I'll go first, just in case." He said, pulling out his wand.
I just nod and wait. He entered and after about five minutes, he comes back.
"It's safe for now, come on." He said.
I just nod again and enter. I see it goes towards a sink.
"Professor, there it's that sink." I say, looking around.
