Chapter 17: First Kill!

Ning found herself powerless to argue against Eggie, the almighty system. Thus she hastily resumed her journey to look for a zombie. All the while, a betrayed expression drew on her face. She felt the need to complete the Quest as soon as possible.

What if an accident happened and she failed the Quest?

It would be unimaginable!

Around the surrounding vicinity of the convenience store, there are hundreds of zombies wandering. Moreover, their strength varied.

[Zombie: Level 4 (HP: 98%)]

'Level...It was something I couldn't see before.' Ning pondered in her mind.

According to Eggie, it should be the primary advantage after one becomes a player since it doesn't come from the system.

However, if she could complete the Quest, which requires her to kill a zombie, the skill Observation would do just the same but much better with more detail provided.

Ning also realized that almost all the zombies were higher level than her as she couldn't found a level 1 zombie anywhere at the moment.

'Since the level of the zombies is varied, it means that they could become stronger themself. And the more time passed, the more powerful they became.'

'Haha—how predictable!'

After quietly searching for nearly 20 minutes, skimming through various zombies, Ning finally found her ideal target.

It was a Level 1 zombie!

'Finally.' Locating her sure kill target, Ning sighed in relief. 'But this one...aimlessly banging its head against the wall...how stupid!'

Still, despite both of them being on the same level, Ning didn't move recklessly like a noob.

After inspecting the surrounding, she stealthily ran over, closer to the zombie, and kicked its leg, luring it to a more deserted place, away from the open road.

As expected, this zombie was rather stupid.

Its speed accelerated for a while before it resumed to walk sluggishly, chasing after her.

Soon, Ning successfully lured the zombie into a dark and secluded alleyway. With a crooked expression on her puppy face, she looked at the zombies greedily.

"Woof! Woof!" (Kukuku—How stupid of you to follow a stranger into this kind of place, this is the end, hahaha!)

"Gagar—grggar!"

As the zombie gradually caught up to Ning, it quickly accelerated again, charging at her, exposing its rotten sharp teeth and flowing black blood.

"GaaArRggGAR!!"

Already anticipated this situation, Ning also made her move. She opened her mouth and used her skill as the zombie closed the gap between them.

'Fireball!' She aimed at the zombie's head.

A blazing fireball soared through the air in an instant.

Boom!

After the sound of a mini-explosion, the zombie suspended for a moment before continuing its aggressive assault. Almost half of its face was missing from the point-blank explosion.

The undead doesn't feel pain. That saying couldn't be any more accurate at this second.

'You don't go down so easily, huh?!' Retreated backward, Ning maintained some distance from the zombie.

Then, she quickly looked at its remaining HP.

The offensive power of the Fireball was quite something, blowing off more than half of its health.

'Since you wouldn't fall after one attack, then take one more!'

'Fireball!'

Boom!

Instantly, the zombie's head exploded, smelly blood and brain chunks covered the two narrowed walls of the alleyway.
