Into the labyrinth
Stella's face a deep red hue, as she breathes to calm herself. Her gaze lingering on Ignis in the dim light. Shaking her head to rid herself of stray thoughts, she focuses on being a lookout. Ignis's grip on the back of her shirt tightens, a string of slurry mumbled words pouring out.
Stella place her hand on his cheek, softly humming in the darkness. The tension slowly melting away. Stirring in his sleep, he roles off her lap with a thump, "hrgg?" He mumbles sitting up in confusion.
Stella's covers her mouth, a giggle bursting out. "Your finally awake?"
Ignis sits up, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "Y-yeah, thanks for keeping watch. You should sleep some too." He leans back against the wall, patting the top of her head.
"Before that you need to heal," she says concerned, brushing her hand over his bruised and cut body.
"Yeah, I guess I forgot, Fiery Regeneration." Flames wreath his skin, slowly mending together. The discoloration slowly easing away. He grunts slightly as the pain in his ribs melt away. "Ah, that feels better," he groans, his hand lacing behind her head. With a smirk he tugs her head onto his lap, "There. Now it's your turn to rest."
"W-whatever," she stammers, her hand clutching onto his pants. "These mana clothes are soft but their warm..?" She mumbles her eyes drooping closed.
"System Interface," Ignis's quiet voice rings out.

A gentle smile plays on Ignis's face, as he lightly strokes her hair. "Sleep well." Ignis waits for quite some time before gently nudging her awake. "We should get a move on."
Stela sits up, rubbing her eyes with her hands, she stretches with a little grunt. "Which way should we go?"
"Well, we have no clue where we are to begin with. Lets just follow the passage this way." Ignis points in the direction they'd fought the goblins.
"Shouldnt we go away from where the enemies came from…?" Stella looks up at him in confusion.
"Well, labyrinths are like massive caves right? By design the weaker monsters are forced into the deepest area's, while the stronger ones," Ignis points to the ceiling, "Monopolize resources from the surface. At least thats what the hunters main info-brokers say." Ignis says with a shrug, Light magma armor forms along his body.
"I'll follow your lead then," Stella says walking beside him.
As they trail their way through the dimly lit multicolored tunnel, slight noises can be heard. Eventually the tunnel starts glowing with a faint light. Ignis holds a hand to his lips, signaling for them to be quiet. Their footsteps light and slow as they approach the end of the tunnel.
Slowly emerging they find themselves faced with a massive cavern filled with lush vegitation. The pair stand, slowly taking in their surroundings. Listening closely, they can hear the sound of far-off animal calls.
"Looks like theres going to be more then just goblins," Ignis says in a quiet tone.
"We should find food first," Stella responds, her stomach rumbling lightly she hides her face. Covering her stomach with a hand.
Ignis looks over his shoulder incredulously, "Yeah, sounds like it," his tone slightly amused. "With these trees there should be fruit of some kind… lets explore a bit."
Entering the foliage, they find a small trail carved into the ground. A rustle comes from the underbrush, pausing they prepare themselves.
The bush rustles again, a rabbit like creature popping onto the trail. Immediately noticing the two it freezes in place.
"Shoot it," Ignis says slowly.
Stella stands staring at it in shock, "B-But its a rabbit…" she hesitantly responds.
The rabbit chitters, more and more popping out around them.
"Their monster's not cute fluffy earth bunnies!" Ignis scolds her, magma erupting around his body, a sword forming in each hand. He stands facing the 4 small rabbits.
Stella points her hand at one of them as it runs towards Ignis, "Solar Ray." Impacting the rabbits chest as it leaps at Ignis, sending it rolling back. It twitches on the ground getting back up, a scorched portion of its chest leaking blood.
Ignis moves slashing at the rabbits as they dodge around his attacks. "Stay still you bastards!" He exclaims, leaping backwards a step. One jumps for his chest, its pointed claws and teeth exposed. He slices with his sword, carving it in half. As stella blasts another shot into the same rabbit, this time it falls limp to the ground. After finishing the other two rabbits off, Ignis picks two up. "Lets head back to the tunnel," he grabs a few branches along the way.
"O-okay, she responds hesitantly eyeing the rabbits.
In the distance, two gleaming red eyes peer from under the foliage. Watching the two as they retreat back to the tunnel. Fadding away into the forest, the humanoid monster licks its lips. The intelligent look in its eyes as it smiles eerily.
The duo sits around the small fire, rabbit legs skewered above the flames. Stella stares at the food. Ignis reaches down pulling a leg off the fire, "Should be done," he smiles taking a large chunk into his mouth. After swallowing he hands the other to Stella. The only sound in the tunnel for a time is them chewing.
Ignos finishes first sitting back against the tunnel wall, his shoulder brushing against Stella's. I'm sorry, If I'd been stronger I could've kept you from this mess." He draws a leg to his chest, gripping his knee.
The sound of stella chewing pauses, followed by a gulp. "What are you saying?" Stella pauses taking a deep breath, "I'm right where I want to be, if anyones at fault its that Vel person."
Ignis looks at her long and hard, when loud padding footsteps echo in the corridor. Springing to his feet, Ignis stands a few feet in front of Stella.
"Solar Ray." Stella calls out, a blast if white magic leaves her hand, illuminating the passageway. A large group of goblins shrieks, charging at them. Ignis moves to meet them, his magma sword slicing through the goblins as Stella launches magic into the fray. The noise dies down, Stella panting for air.
Ignis kneels beside her placing a hand on her shoulder, "Are you alright?" He asks in a concerned tone.
"Just a little out of breath," Stella wheezes lightly.
"How close are you to leveling?" Ignis asks, walking among the bodies to make sure their all dead. His jaw clenched as he feels a stirring in his chest, retreating to Stellas side he breathes deeply.
"I'm close to level 3, I still have plenty of mana left but i think my stamina is low," Stella says assigning her stat points.

"Lets retreat further back, and go over out abilities. It might help in the long run if we understand each other better." Ignis shrugs beast cores in his hands, he hands some to Stella. "These should help recharge our mana."
The two walk back, the crystals in their pockets as they come to a small alcove in the side of the tunnel. The two stop and look around inside, "This should be better for us."
