Chapter - 12 (Third Member!)

The next day, at nine o'clock, Eric headed towards 'Shelter' for his first day on the job. Walking inside, Eric greeted Caroline, who was sipping tea, and took a seat beside her. Leo soon appeared, carrying boxes.
Eh, You are early! Leo said and walked towards the door.
Yes, I am here... Eric nodded, Seems like he was preparing something, Eric thought as he observed Leo transferring boxes to a closed room.
Tea? Caroline said while pouring in one cup, seeing Eric nodding she poured in another cup.
Drinking tea, sugarless tea! Eric thought, maybe she has sugar disease!
Leo came from inside, sat at the table, and Caroline poured a cup of tea for him. "Your room is ready; the files on the table contain all the documents you need to check," Leo said, sipping the tea.
Eric nodded, mentioning that he could take care of it. "How much can there be, one box or two boxes?" he thought, drawing on his experience from his past life.
"Should I check the room?" Eric pondered, and upon asking, Caroline and Leo nodded. Eric got up with the cup and small plate in hand. While sipping, he went inside. Upon reaching the room filled with boxes, he was shocked to see a sea of documents. He involuntarily spat out his tea in surprise. "What the hell? How many boxes?" Then, he noticed a wooden chair and table, the stacks of documents covering the entire surface.
Eric went outside and saw Caroline and Leo laughing. He then sat on the chair and asked, "Are there any more?"
Caroline burst into laughter. "No... No... Everything is already inside the room," said Caroline.
"Don't worry, the boxes are already checked. They will be going to Headquarters in a few days," Leo reassured.
"Then, that's good," Eric thought.
"Eh, I forgot to ask about my salary," Eric suddenly mentioned
Caroline turned towards Eric and said, "Well, you are the accountant. You'll be managing the money, handling it, and recording transactions. You decide your worth." Leo also nodded in agreement.
"Really," Eric thought, "should I take twenty gold coins?"
"What's the annual budget?" Eric asked, considering the main branch in the capital had likely given a budget to their branch.
"A thousand gold coins," Caroline thought and then said, "Hmmm... Thousand and two hundred gold coins."
"Thousand!" Eric's face widened, "If it's a thousand and two hundred a year, then we will get a hundred gold coins monthly."
My monthly salary is Twenty Gold Coins. And Captain's Fourth Gold Coins. Caroline said.
Mine is also Twenty Gold Coins, Leo said.

"Really?" Caroline smiled, you look more beautiful in this red gown, getting up to greet her. Embracing the woman, Caroline said, "Meet our new member."
"New member?" The lady turned towards the direction Caroline was pointing, looking confused. She thought that he was just someone who had arrived to assign commissions.
"Huh! Eric?" The woman was stunned to see Eric sitting on the chair.
"This voice? Linda!" Eric was astonished to see Linda there. "So, she is also a Materializer. That explains everything—why she tries to break our friendship, why she wants me to be far from them. This is because a Materializer can corrupt a normal person if they stay near them often," he concluded.
"Eric! What are you doing here?" Linda said angrily.
