Kick IT!

"Oh shoot! I got it wrong again. Sorry." Pete is twinkling his eyes while giving off his sweetest shy smile, hoping it would tame their strict dance leader, Jay. With an exasperated expression, Jay, for the nth time now, just let it slide because he needs people for the team and slightly because Pete is really cute.

"Semis are approaching fast, and we need to win this contest so that we won't take the fucking exams on PE. Please, just do your best." Jay is frustrated now. He is top of his class in senior year, and he doesn't need this. He can take the exam just fine and pass with flying colors. Why did he do it? I think you can guess by how he shouts at other team members but Pete.

When you look at him, Pete seems like an ordinary boy, dressed neatly for school, and is the obedient type of student- that is, if you don't really know him. As for someone who knows him well, Jay would describe him as the bubbly one and is one crazy guy willing to sell his kidneys for a Kpop concert. He's so crazy that he forced Jay to form a dance group and cover his favorite Kpop dances.

Jay is in great trouble if he can't make this team work. "Again, again. Let's try it from the top. Pete, please focus. All phone's off, please." You see, Pete is a social media darling. He's this cute little baby that girls and especially guys love. He may not be the best dancer, no, he's really not, and he may lack common sense in most situations, but people love him for that.

As for Pete, he enjoys this kind of attention. Getting along with people is never hard for him. One smile from him, and you'd feel like you found a best friend in Pete. Jay, however, is not so fond of this. Over their college years, he's become increasingly protective of Pete, as most guys would mistake his friendliness for something else, and Pete would end up being stalked and harassed by these filthy guys.

No one blames Pete, though. He sees everyone with kindness. The only thing his friends can do is to protect him and be with him all the time.

"Okay, on to our last run for today!" Jay, exhausted, shouted as they were all wiping down sweat from the windy rooftop of their college building. And, did I ever mention that these guys here are Psychology majors? Now, you can fully understand their struggle when it comes to dancing.

(Let me introduce you to some new dance, new dance, new dance....) Pete would try his best to kick this dance off, but as you may guess, sometimes the things we love won't love us back.

Pete is positioned at the front left side near the door. And every time the chorus plays, he would literally kick the door, without much thought, as he gives his all in dancing. This, however, has never been a problem to the team more than Pete's lack of dancing skills.

BANG! One man down. A man was sprawled to the ground as Pete mightily kicked at the front door. "Yah! Why are you standing there? Are you hurt? Come, let me take a look". Pete is in panic. It never occurred to him that someone would pass by the door. More so, he never thought that his dance moves could kick the shit out of someone.

As the caring and thoughtful Pete, he rushed to the man, cupped his face, and looked for injuries on the man's body. Luckily, there is none, just a little bruising on his chin where Pete's lucky foot landed. Well, Pete is really kicking on this part.

The man, who has small eyes and a tall nose, is unusually not shocked at all. It seems like taking a kick or two has been his thing, and he expected to receive it any minute of the day. Or maybe he's just not hurt or is too shy to admit so.

"I'm okay," the man replied. He swiftly stood away from Pete, which made him surprised, and walked to the back of the rooftop as if nothing had happened.

Pete was in complete disbelief. He's been running around the campus for years while Jay and his friends look for him during breaks. How come he has never seen this face. This remarkable face stunned Pete and made him feel something. Like a switch inside of him was turned on. The curiosity switch he often ticks to someone was now what he felt for this man.

"Don't you know that it's rude to stare?" the man shouted, then walked away.
