"Next is... all of the books I'll need."
"That shouldn't be much of a trouble." Rune's father spoke and looked around with a hum to leave his lips. His gaze finally settled on a group of kids exiting a building named Flourish and Blotts with books in their arms. "There!" He led the way once more with a smile, tugging his family forward.
A few people looked over in both confusion and amusement at the wonder his father distributed. It didn't bother Rune all too much-- it isn't too often his father shows such childish excitement, but when he does, it usually turns out fun.
There was a bell that rung when Rune opened the door to this shop as well. The smell of book leather, ink, and parchment hung in the air. The walls were lined with shelves filled to the brim with books. There were even stray stacks of books that rested on the floor next to tables and the stairs leading to the second floor. The shop had many families within, though it wasn't entirely too packed with people/ If anything, it was only difficult to walk around in this shop because of all of the books lying around.
The lady at the large semi-circle counter smiled at the sight of the new customers. "Welcome to Flourish and Blotts!" Her gaze drifted over the four of them, landing on Rune for a moment before pulling out her wand.
With a simple wave, books began removing themselves from their shelves and towards the counter. One by one they hovered over to the counter. With her other hand, she wrote down the prices of the books as she made note of which ones made it to her.
"Amazing.." Rune's father muttered, moving to the side as a book slowly hovered past him and to the counter. In total, eight books had been stacked onto the table after she had dotted down the numbers labeled on the back.
The look of his father's fascination caused the older woman to laugh to herself in amusement, which cause him to snap from his slight daze, "Oh! Uh-"
"73 pounds, sir." Her tone continued to hold amusement as Rune's father fished out the money before passing it to her.
"Will that be all?" A patient smile adorned her features as she placed the money in a separate compartment-- just like Madam Malkin had done when they were in her shop earlier.
"No. Thank you, miss. Lets go, you too." Rune's father picked up the bags of books. The weight pulled down his arms for a moment, but he quickly adjusted. He worked out in the fields for a living, after all.
He's carried much heavier weights than a few books. They all stopped outside the shop, his father glancing inside the bags for a moment. "That was the quickest book trip I've ever been through," He looked up at Rune with a smile, "You certainly will be learning rather interesting things."
Rune could swear that his father was far more excited about him going to Hogwarts and learning magic than he was.
