Learning Abilities?

In a daze, Ian opened his eyes and looked around.

An intense feeling of nausea overcame him, making him feel as if he was about to vomit, but it quickly faded away.

"Are you okay?" While staring at Ian's condition questioned Osiris.

Ian could not respond- As he looked around in bewilderment.

'Why does it feel so unfamiliar?' To Ian, it was as if reality itself had changed.

'No… It's not reality that changed but my way of perceiving reality!'

This speculation baffled him.

He felt as if the smog that had covered up his vision until now had cleared, allowing him to see more clearly.

Even though he felt everything was clearer, his physical vision has not improved at all!

Ian realized what was going on.

'Is this... the Heart Astute state?'

The first state of Mind Cultivation...

Every three grades in Mind Cultivation is treated as a single state. The Innate State is not included in this classification.

The first three grades of Red, Orange, and Yellow all come under 'Heart Astute State'

The next three grades would be considered another state.

"Hmm... get used to that feeling; you need to learn abilities from tomorrow." Osiris stated.

"What do you mean? Isn't it better to reach purple grade first by using resources?"

Osiris' suggestion puzzled Ian.

For Ian, Time is the most essential thing. If he learns every ability at each grade to the fullest, he won't be able to survive the Descend of Realms 6 years later!

Of course, he doesn't have to worry about survival because he can return to the past, but he can't just stay in the past forever, right? That would be far too miserable.

Osiris sighed as he looked at Ian like he was some fool.

"I almost forgot to mention this, but... you should learn every skill you can before advancing to the next grade."

Ian was puzzled and couldn't stop himself from questioning Osiris.

"Why? Isn't getting stronger the most crucial thing!? Then I need to raise my grade as quickly as possible..."

When Osiris heard that, he scorned.

"Are you braindead? Can't you understand why I said that? If you didn't learn a particular ability in your current state and advance to the next state, then you can forget about learning them anymore... "

Ian wasn't sure if he should feel relieved or sad. In the previous run, he directly skipped 4 grades and entered The Blue grade.

He knew that there were about 5 abilities in the first 3 grades... which means he almost lost the chance to learn 5 abilities for an instant increase in strength.

'What is the use of Mindpower if I don't have any abilities?'

Ian then recalled about runes that can be used with the help of Mindpower and somehow felt relieved.

If he didn't have the ability to regress and somehow survived in the previous run, then his fate would be to learn those inefficient runes... That can be considered an even more waste of time than learning abilities.

' Luckily I can start over again...' Ian thought.

Ian decided that this time he would take everything slow and stable. No need to rush things and mess up somewhere in the process- just be steady.

Osiris then glanced at the clock on the wall.

"Well... It's time for me to go back to work. You will be alright by tomorrow morning. Go to your lectures and come to the principal office straight from lectures afterward... I will teach you the most efficient methods to learn abilities ..."

Osiris said and in the next moment faded from his location as if he was never there to being with.

It stunned Ian, but a moment later, he sighed.

'A spatial treasure? as expected...' Ian thought while nodding his head.

He was suspicious that Osiris had a Spatial treasure from the auditorium, and his suspicions were further fueled when he gave him One-time Use Spatial teleporter.

But he was now certain that Osiris possessed a spatial treasure.

'But...is it safe to learn from Osiris?'

Ian was sure he saw a malicious grin on Osiris's face before he teleported.

'Whatever happens will happen. I can't die, anyway...'

Maybe he can learn a special version of abilities if he directly learned from Osiris... after all, he is one of the top mind practitioners.

At most, he might suffer some pain, but can it compare to the torment that he gets after each regression?

'I'll just sleep' Ian didn't want to think anymore.

In his present condition, overthinking and over-analyzing everything is too exhausting for him.

In the lecture hall of the Privileged sector.

An old woman was explaining something that was in the textbook.

Ian wasn't in the mood to learn any of these and was staring at his watch, waiting for the class to end.

"Okay class, by tomorrow you need to memorize the properties and natural habitats of the herbs from page 12 to page 300 in your Herbology textbook. Tomorrow I will teach you all the different combinations that can be done using the 500 herbs noted on these pages- stay tuned"

Most students gave a perfunctory reply and started walking out of the lecture hall.

Memorizing 500 herbs might seem too much, but for Mind practitioners who will have their memory improved for every increase in grade...500 herbs aren't much.

The number of herbs available in the central realm is unknown even to the best herbalist, and herbalists are Mind practitioners who use herbs that were available in the natural environment to concoct potions, pills, and medicines.

Every student from the University of Novaetas would be proficient in this field of study due to it being a necessary lecture for all students to attend.

And there are a total of Five mandatory courses- Runic Language, Herbology, Theories of Mind, History, and Science.

For a normal human excelling in even a single thing might be hard since all the subjects require a lot of memorization but for a Mind practitioner whose memory is ever-growing and too vast... remembering these would be a piece of cake.

Of course, some might ask-Then why would they even need a Lecture? Can't they simply memorize from books?

Even though Mind Cultivation can increase Memory, calculation and thinking speed, Problem-solving, etc. It can't change the Innate Comprehension, Way of thinking, and Creative thinking of a person.

This means people who are called stupid due to their memory incapability or slow thinking speed and problem-solving can become geniuses over time with Mind Cultivation.

But... People who have a High IQ but Zero EQ like Aeric and those who are narrow-minded, too fixated that they are always correct, narcissists, and other mentally retarded people are incurable... Unless they changed by themselves or were somehow enlightened.

After a period of walking, Ian stood outside the principal door and contemplated whether he should go or not.

"Come in"

'Ugh... what's the worst that can happen?' Ian opened the door and stepped inside, concerned about the type of training Osiris would give.
