Chapter 6 - Mega Horde

Entering the headquarters in pitch darkness was a problem, so we were all using flashlights.

The zombie horde was coming, so we needed to hurry.

THUD

While searching for the server room to hack the police robots and the power room to turn the server room back on, we heard a door close.

'Zombies can't close doors, so that must be a person.'

Although we were split up at first, we decided to enter through the main door together before splitting up again.

To our front, the hallway split into two. The door closing noise came from further inside and was definitely not one of us.

'Dammit, if only we had a map of this place.'

Just before splitting up, I decided to tell them to search every room for any people as quickly as possible. There was no need for bloodshed, since we needed to deal with the zombies.

Without making any loud noises, I quickly typed into my phone and showed it to my men. Then, we split up.

For some reason, the zombies were getting more and more sensitive with their hearing and smell. Thus, we were extra careful with our movements, not daring to make as much noise as possible.

We quickly walked through the hallway and searched every room.

In one of the rooms, we found a dozen or so office workers.

These guys were definitely the technicians, analysts, and other desk-related job workers.

They were terrified and armed, but they were not trigger-happy.

Before any of them could open their mouths, I stuck my index finger to my mouth. My men also did the same.

The office workers sensed that something wasn't right and decided to keep quiet as well.

I quickly wrote on my phone that zombies were coming and that we needed to keep quiet.

They were still vigilant, but they decided to comply.

Though they needed to turn their phones on first due to the EMP, we decided to talk through our phone screens.

I then asked them if there was a way to return the power back on and get the robots to help us.

One of them showed on their screens that it would take at least 40 minutes to get it done by himself, but would be quicker if others helped.

I asked if there were still other workers in the building, and he answered yes.

I then wrote that we should quickly gather them all and return the power back on, since I had other men in the building as well and they might shoot each other to death due to misunderstandings.

Plus, the zombies were marching at a faster speed. We could even hear faint noises of the horde.

We moved out of the room and quickly searched our comrades.

One by one, we caught up to them without any major accidents happening. Then, we entered the power room and the technicians started working on getting back electricity.

'I shouldn't mention being the one to cause this issue in the first place, since they might turn against us.'

And then, 10 minutes later, the power was back on.

However, the zombie horde which was getting closer was alerted by the lights turning on, so their paces quickened.

By now, I could hear them almost reaching the gates of the building which was only around 50 meters away from the building.

"Shit! The zombies are coming! We need to quickly go outside and fend them off! Do not let them climb the walls or the gates. We need to keep them outside!"

I urgently ordered.

Even the office workers agreed and quickly went to turn on the police robots.

I grabbed one of them by the shoulders and asked them.

"The robots aren't gonna attack us as well, right?"

"Don't worry, unless you're wanted, they won't try to apprehend you."

"Oh shit, that's a problem."

"W-what? You're wanted?"

"No, most of us here are."

"Were you trying to rob us????!"

They alarmedly asked.

"Yep, but I thought the place was empty, that's why we set up an EMP."

"...."

"Anyway, don't worry about us. We're all in this together. Please make the robots not arrest us."

"Fine, but it'll take longer."

"How much longer?"

"Probably about a couple minutes longer."

"That's not a problem, we can hold off those zombies for even half an hour if we want."

"Alright."

As the technician was about to leave, I grabbed his shoulder again.

"Wait, could you tell us where the big guns are?"

****

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAHH!!!"

I screamed and laughed as I continuously shot a handheld electromagnetic minigun.

For each second, 100 bullets were being unloaded.

The zombies were getting obliterated.

The situation all around the walls was almost the same as mine.

Everyone was too busy enjoying their newfound weapons.

"BOSS!!! THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!!!"

Jack yelled.

"I KNOW RIGHT???? HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!"

I responded maniacally.

The office workers shooting right beside us thought that it might've been a huge mistake for us to have these guns.

A total of 132 people were attacking a mega zombie horde of around a million.

Thankfully, we had robot dogs with guns attached to their backs and humanoid robots equipped with railguns to help us. They outnumbered us humans 10 to 1.

The 1,000+ robots covered places that we couldn't and also provided us with supporting fire.

"DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!!"

Connor shouted right beside me, shooting towards something we've never encountered before.

"KRAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!!!!"

A giant mutated zombie covered in parasitic lumps was being bombarded by bullets.

It stood 4 stories high and had bulging red muscles and had pointy bones sticking out.

Nevertheless, we managed to prevent it from getting close by absolutely spraying it with bullets, grenades, and homing anti-tank missiles.

BOOOOOOOOM

BOOOOOOOOM

Two anti-tank missiles hit its head, exposing its brain matter.

"GWUUAAAAAAAARGGHHHH!!!"

It started being enraged.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

An anti-tank missile hit its exposed brain, dealing the killing blow.

The giant boss zombie fell down and squished its fellow smaller zombies.

BOOOOOOM

RATATATATATATATT

BOOOOM

BOOOOOOM

BRRRRRRRRTTTT

Just to be safe, we still shot at the corpse.
