Ancient Portal

As I approached the guards spotted me and became cautious. Although they were only C or D ranks, I could say that they had had a lot of experiences on the battlefield.

"What is your business here?" one of them asked verily.

By the way, all aliens knew human language since we were the current dominating race. This has been a ritual since long ago.

"I'm just here to get some supplies," I said.

They looked at each other. As I walked closer they had quite the appearance. They had beautiful skin which was sky blue.

They had the look of humans but they were much larger. Even an average Verix was seven feet tall. These two were around eight.

Both of them had long black hair. Their eyes were white, even the pupils. There was nothing but white in their eyes.

"Then come with us," said the other one.

I followed them as they guided me through the village. Everyone stared at me. Well, at this point I was used to this kind of treatment. The village was rather small with only about a population of a hundred.

It was very underdeveloped with huts made of wood and leaves. Humans even had the technology to make oxygen and easily transport it in space.

But these people seemed to have trouble even lighting a fire. So there was still this kind of place in the universe?

I went along with the two guards to the largest hut in the village. I assumed this is where the chief was. As I was walking through the village, I saw a vast field where many different fruits were grown. I had never seen them before.

They were of various colors and shapes. But I noticed that this field had taken substantial damage.

Judging by the weather which was extremely sunny, there was no way a storm could have done this. Just what happened here?

I was asked to step into the large hut by one of the guards. I did so. I looked around. the inside was not very developed but it was fairly cozy with the blankets and couches of large sizes.

"Young traveler, what is your purpose here?" asked an old voice that was rather deep, even in comparison to Captain Neil's sonorous voice.

I bowed and then I looked at the person who talked to me. He was about 9 and a half feet with wrinkles all over his blue skin. He had a long grey beard. He was rather muscular.

"I'm searching for the portal of this star and I request you to kindly give me some accommodation and resources for two days before I leave again."

The old man Verix was startled when he heard about the portal. Of course, why wouldn't he be?

"I'm sorry but we can't give you what you want"
