74 The Last Round

Devin and Arvid were still glaring at each other as they held Angeal's arm. The human girl looked at them back and forth then her eyebrows furrowed, noticing that she is in an awkward position and found it uncomfortable.

'Goodness... what is this now?'

Frey rolled her eyes at the scene and sat back down on the couch beside old man Gladios then pouted like a kid.

"I'm out of the game. There goes my $25,000..."

Hearing the complaint of the child, Edwin laughed.

"Well, you do have $5,000 from earlier's game! You still wanted more," he said and asked, making Frey nod.

"Yeah! I plan to buy a lot of things with it for me and my mother," she said then their eyes shifted on the three again.

Gwen smirked as she crossed her arms in front of her chest.

"Now what a situation those three are in! My, ain't this exciting," she commented, making Martha behind her giggle.

"So our Angeal is the first girl who came in our master's mind. Now isn't that a compliment, Gladios," Martha chimed in and the old man scratched the back of his head.

"Now that I realize, my Angeal is indeed 19 years old... what will I do now?"

Hearing the concern of the old man, Ava looked at Angeal for a while then spoke.

"Well, your granddaughter indeed is a natural simple beauty. I would understand why people would be attracted to her in the near future."

"Oh, my," exclaimed the old man after he heard what Ava said. "I hope I live long enough to see those men who would want my Angeal," he mumbled, making the others around him laugh.

'Well, Arvid and Devin may be already fighting for her in the near future,' Gwen thought to herself, not wanting to say it aloud for it may distract the old man.

Ivar grinned as he walked down the stairs and approached the three.

"Now let's go to the final round! This time, the girl get's to choose!"

Hearing this, Angeal's eyes widened along with her mouth. Seeing her reaction, Ivar knew that she wanted to back out but the Dominion waved his index finger at her saying no.

"Ah-ah! You have to see this through~!"

Angeal got her phone from her pocket then typed something then clicked read.

"But I want the cash prize!"

Everyone who lost the game laughed when they heard her concern. They thought she was complaining because she would have to choose between the two, but she was complaining because she wanted the $25,000 prize to herself!

Angeal pouted as the boys let her arm go. She crossed both of her arms in front of her chest then squinted her eyes at Ivar, as if wanting to change the rules.

Ivar chuckled as he waved the cash envelope he was holding.

"Well, Angeal... you already won $5,000. The person you will choose would get the prize money," he explained and Angeal rolled her eyes then nodded for them to finish the game.

"Alrighty, then! Now, here it is! The last round."

With what was said by the game master, everyone went silent as they expectantly listened to the condition of the last round.

"The boat is sinking, the boat is sinking..." Ivar smiled at Angeal then said the condition. "The human girl should pair herself with the guy he finds the most handsome!"

"Oooh~!"

The girls reacted in a teasingly manner when they heard the Dominion say the condition. Angeal stood frozen on the ground for a while as she looked at both of the guys in front of her.

Devin on the left... black haired guy, purple eyes, with an aloof personality. Arvid on the right... brunette blessed with blue eyes and with an active spunky attitude.

She thought for a while then after a few seconds, started walking slowly as her eyes looked at the two boys back and forth.

The boys knew it was a game but still, her choosing between them made them nervous! It was a battle between looks and her choosing the guy would mean that in her eyes, she found that person attractive!

But between Arvid and Devin, the most nervous one was the young immortal.

He had been attracted to Angeal since they were young so her opinion of him mattered! If ever the girl he likes chose the other... then that would mean that he is not attractive to her at all!

With that thought in mind, Arvid bit his lip as he watched Angeal walk towards them.

'Come on... choose me,' the young immortal said in his thoughts as his eyes glistened in expectation.

The moment Angeal was closer to them, she stopped midway then looked at Arvid for a long time, making Devin furrow his brows, and also making Arvid's heart beat faster than usual.

'He's choosing him?'

Devin felt bad when he saw Angeal smile at the young immortal. Unknowingly, his fists tightened at the side but what the girl did later on surprised the both of them—and even everyone.

"Sorry," she mouthed then she ran to Devin then held his arm, choosing him as the winner for the last game.

Everyone was silent for a while and Arvid felt like a bucket of ice was thrown to him from above.

'She finds me unattractive?'

Devin smirked as he looked at the girl who chose him.

'Of course, she would choose me!'

The others who were watching were surprised as well because they thought she would choose Arvid since she's scared of their master. Her actions showed that she was going to choose Arvid, but why change at the last minute?

"Ahem," Ivar coughed getting everyone's attention. "So the one who won the $25,000 is Devin! Congratulations!"

Shaken away from their thoughts, everyone began to clap as Ivar gave the envelope to their master. The Dominion then turned to Angeal then asked her a question.

"Now let me ask you, Angeal... what made you choose our master?"

Angeal smiled sweetly as she typed her answer for half a minute in her phone. Once she was assured of what she typed, she clicked read for everyone to hear.

"Because our master hadn't won anything since the past few games. Arvid already won cash in the first game."

"Pfft!"

Hearing this, everyone, except for Devin, laughed out loud the moment they heard Angeal's answer.

They realized that she chose Devin because Angeal had a condition in mind: their master not getting anything from their past two games!

Arvid was seen holding his stomach as he calmed himself down from laughing.

"Oh, I thought I was going to get offended there for a minute," the young immortal commented as he wiped a tear from the corner of his eye.

Devin squinted his eyes at Angeal who looked at him innocently with a smile. The girl didn't know that she had hurt his ego, but she only thought that she did a right thing of choosing him because he had not won anything!

'This girl... did she really not see me as a handsome man?'

"Whatever," Devin mumbled as he scoffed then he spoke, getting everyone's attention. "Who else here hadn't won anything from the game," he asked and Martha, Edwin, and Gladios raised their hands.

Devin opened the envelope then brought out the cash then he looked at those three who hadn't won anything from the game.

"The three of you. Come here and share the prize with me. You get $5,000."

"Wow!" The three of them exclaimed at the same time as they approached their master excitedly. "Thank you!"

Devin then looked at his servant then rolled his eyes at him as he kept in his pocket his share, then gave the envelope to Ivar.

"You get the other remaining $5,000 for handling tonight's events."

"Wooh!"

Ivar spun around as he raised the envelope, feeling grateful and satisfied for tonight.

Turning his back, Devin smiled as he walked up the stairs, leaving everyone to rejoice in the lobby.

'What a night indeed.'
