chap 16 the hunting party

"No promises." I say with red face as shawn walks in " Ok zach have a good hunt." he say as he opens the door " Thanks Shawn i owe you." I say as I rip the throttle open and pops a wheelie as silena and I tear out the door while she is screaming her head off with trey close behind " I said nothing stupid!" silena yells as the front wheel connects with the dirt as we speed up to the trail. To find a ranger car set up blocking to so we slow down to a stop " Kids what are you doing?" a man asks as he walks up to me " We were sent to fix the creature problem." I say bluntly he just shakes his head " We have a hunting party out there now." I feel silena squeeze my waist " But sir they are in trouble." She says sweetly and a urge to run and help tries to over take me" Sir can you move so we can help." He nods and moves his can a side as we riding past.

" Nice work silena." trey yells as he pulls behind me as we go up the trail. We drive in silence for a few minutes before silena pipe up" We should stop here as to not to disturb them." we slow down and put the kick stands down and cut the bikes off I bring my spear and shield as we sneak through the woods we find 15 empty nests " Spread out find anything of value before they come back." I say as we quickly go though the nests as we only find car hoods and jewelry no weapons " Dam no weapons." I groan as we hear the squaks of the griffins " Hide!" I holler as we scrabble to the woodline as the griffins land dropping their newest addition." Shall I use lighting?" I whisper as trey nods I raise my spear and summon a bolt of lightning that strikes 9 of the griffins turning them to dust sending the rest in a panic as I charge in to the opening as silena yells random commands at the griffins as trey opens fire taking 3 down before we head yelling coming towards us " Bullshit trey fall back protect the mortals!" I yell while taking a jab a griffin that tried to dive at silena forcing it to miss. "I'm not leaving you guys!He yells as he fires again taking another down but the griffins sreeches loudly causing the yelling to get closer. " Now!!" I yell as I throw my spear at one griffin hitting its neck turning it to dust but the other one swipes one of its paws at me.

Raising my shield i block the attack but sent flying in to a tree. " There the beast is!!!" I hear from behind me and the sound of a group of guns rack making my blood go cold " MORTALS INCOMING!" I yell hoping for the group behind to hear before charging back in a plucking my spear from the ground as silena slashes her sword at the beast killing it." Where are the creatures?!" a man rushes into the clearing holding a AR-15 " I will not stop till they are dead!" He yells as I use my spear ti support my weight." Calm down Bobby!" another smacks Bobby's head " Zach you ok?" silena asks as she walks up to me putting her sword back in its sheathe I just nod and sling my shield on my back" Who are you kids." the new man asks as he lowers his gun " I'm zak Johnson member of the Vatican's field operations squad 13 and this is tim and angel." I lie quickly causing silena and trey to look at me " Nice try there is no such thing." Bobby yells as I double over and couch some blood " Oh that is not good." I groan before looking at Bobby " For the record we do exist we fight in the shadows we keep the supernatural world and the human world from mixing we were sent here on urgent orders to kill a group of demons that took physical bodies that killed 10 kids." I say as silena helps me sit down and hands me a canteen taking a sip to let them process the information.

" Squad leader we need to get you back to the room." Silena winks as she plays along but trey keeps his bow out " Tim stand down." I say I feel my wounds healing he nods " So Bobby was it, I take it you were after revenge for one of the 10?" I ask as silena helps me up " Yes my son was one of them." he says as he lowers his rifle, "Thank you kids for this you set my son free please take what you want from the nests its the least we can do." he says as the rest of his group nods before walking away " Ok you two find what you want." I stand and walk over to one nest and find a sliver ring with three diamonds on it and I quickly hid it in my ring before looking around some more before finding a black sword with two names carved in the hilt ' Lux Arcadia, Corban Wolford, huh those names sound familiar oh well.' I think to myself as I store it away and keep looking before finding a long red sword with a engine on it with names ' Nero, and james hunter. I know Nero from dmc but the other sounds familiar as well.' I think before storing it to. " Ok I found what I want!" I holler as I climb out the nest as the time as silena " So much jewelry the other girls will be sssoooo jealous!" trey rolls his eyes and we walk towards the group with me leaning on silena to keep the illusion " Gentlemen the rest take back to the rightful owners." I say as we walk passed them to the dirt bikes and we ride down the trail and back to the rental.
