CHAPTER 3 : A TALK WITH LAYLA

Sitting on a seat in the canteen, Chandler was eating some cupcakes, a cheese burger and had three apples buy his side with bottle of orange fruit juice. He was located at the top of the canteen since here you could buy much more of the food that you like and it wasnt crowded.

It was an area where those coming from a noble family will always eat since the food in was dear. It was spaced out with fans up the ceiling plus airconditioners to bring a nice breeze and fresh air. There was a total of fifteen tables having six chairs each.

Sitting on his own as always, he enjoyed his meal while the people around just eyed him as always. He has always being very cold and would never talk to anyone if the person dont come to him. He has never tried befriending anyone and never cared about that.

But the girls found this nature of his very cool and were more and more attracted to him but he didnt care about any of them. A girl walking with her friends climbed up the stairs to the upper canteen. She sat with her friend on tables as they had to command their meal.

As soon as they did, they were served and were now eating. One of the girls viewed Chandler and said "Babes there is Chandler" pointing towards his direction as they all looked.

"Why is he always sitting alone? He is always so cold to everyone except to Layla" a girl with pink hairs said "Chloe its not only to me. Itz just that you guyz dont know him that well. He's cool ok" Layla said with a smile and red tint on her jaw which all the others didnt fail to see.

So Layla stood from her seat and took her meal with her "Am going to talk with him ok. Meet you guyz later" she said " Ok go see your prince charming Layla" Chloe said while rolling her eyes meanwhile the other girls look at her with a smile.

She walked away while the group was looking at her with a smile on their faces "Sometimes i feel jealous of her" Chloe said "Me too" a purpled haired girl said "Me too" the other three girls said looking at her going toward him.

Reaching his table, she looked at him and greeted "Hi, Chandler. Can i join you?" she said with a smile.

He looked up at her and swallowed the food in his mouth before answering "Yes you can. Just take a seat" saying so, she placed her meal on the table and sat opposite to him. They then continued eating silently. She will always send him glances which he will never see as he was just so much concentrated in his meal.

Deciding to break the silence between then she said something "How was the class?"

"Pfff, justboring as always" he said coldly. She already expected him saying that with how smart he was. After he finished the meal, he picked up and apple and bite in it. Chewing and then swallowing.

Closing his eyes and exhaling, he opened them back and looked at Layla "Layla there is a matter that has being disturbing for some time now" he said seriously.

She just looked at him since she was surprised that he decided to tell her about what was the matter with him "Ok and what is the matter about?" she immediately said before he changed his mind not telling her anything.

"I have always been making a dream for some time now where i see a man and a woman but cant see their faces. Am in a cot and i can her the sound of water flowing with bird churping all around" He said to Layla "I think its something i saw when I was still very small" "The woman will say: he is so cute and i love him so much while the man will say: as cute as you darling i love him more than you do. Then that is when the dream will end. I have tried to figure out what it means but always failed" Layla hearing all this tried processing and think about all what she heard.

She looked at him and tried thinking again "Maybe those are his real parents and he was just adopted but the Zolritch family" She thought to herself and started debating if she should tell him what she thinks about all that.

Him looking at her as she hadn't spoken since he finished, he said "Are you all ok Layla? And what do you think about the dream. She just looked at him while still debating whether to tell him what she thinks or not. She lifted her head up and looked at him directly in the eyes and said "I don't really know what to tell you about that but i could say that the images you see are just some flashback of when you were was still a baby. That's all i can say"

He looked at her with confusion in his mind and just said "Ohh...ok then and thanks" "Don't worry Chandler,if i have something new about it i will definitely tell you" She explained with concern trying to bring her help. He just looked at her with a smile on his face as he said "Don't worry about that anymore Layla, it's just a stupid dream with no meaning, so i will try and put it at the back of my head"

He said those words while smilling not wanting to tell her directly that he didn't want her helping him. She immediatly saw that in his eyes and decided to not let him down even if he was forcing her. So they just continued eating their meal happily.

As always, she was sending him glances which he was failing to notice. Her friends the other way were just looking at them while being both happy for her and feeling jealous too.

She broke again the silence and said "Chanlder?" " Yes Layla what's wrong"

"Isn't it going to be your birthday in two weeks time?" she asked with shining eyes and a cute smile. "Oh yeah it's gonna be my 16th anniversary" He said without any expression on his face. Seeing that she just said " Chandler,what's wrong, aren't you happy for your additional one year so soon?" "Am glad Layla didn't you see me smiling" as he said so he forced a smile on his face which she noticed.

"Oookaaay...I...I see that. But what are you planning for that day Chandler, wont you invite some people to a nightclub for the birthday party?" she said smiling and excited "Oh....that hasn't crossed my mind Layla. I didn't plan to make a party or any other thing. As you know me that well Layla i hate when there's alot of commotion and as such i have never gone to a party" he said while looking up the ceiling. "This guy definitely surprises me alot. He doesn't know what it is to go party with friends. I will definitely learn him how to befriend people and i will organise a party for his birthday. I will also give him the best gift of his life" she thought to herself "Chandler but i hope you won't reject any gift right?" "Hmm....yeah!! If i recieve a gift i will definitely accept especially from you" as he said so she had a red blush on her face and looked down. She immediately calmed down and said "Ok but what would you like as a gift" "Hmmmm..... Anything Layla. You know me that well and i know you that you already have ideas about my likes and dislikes. So just give me all you think i may like as a gift" "Ok i will try my best and give you the best gift you ever recieved in your life" "Ok then i will be waiting Layla"

As they finished with their talk,the finished eating the bell was rung signalling the beginning of classes. So they left together to their class meanwhile Layla's friends were just behind them smiling at her. They reached the class and entered. Then some minutes later a new professor entered the class.
