Unum's Request

(Third POV)

''Dad, say you're kidding! You're kidding, right?!''

''Of course he is kidding! He's kidding, right?''

''Ayaa, papa is happy to see you showing so many different emotions and expressions, Temp-chan! But no, I'm not kidding, haha!''

Temporis look at Unum as if he's gone crazy, she started biting her nails in anxiety, afraid that finally her dear father had gone mad, ''I see, it seems that finally your advanced age is affecting your reasoning. I think it was to be expected after living for billions of years, it is natural that you have become senile, yes, must be this.....''

Hearing his daughter call him a senile old man, Unum's smile grew rigid, ''Erm, Temp-chan? Papa is not senile....''

Yuki also looked at Unum as if he had gone crazy , then she started looking around the office with a smug face, as if she's finally figured out what's going on, ''This is a joke, right? Haha, very funny! Now where are the hidden cameras? Come out, this prank is very stupid and poorly done! Unum-sama, you suck at pranks!''

''Y-Yuki-chan?! You are being very rude, you know?!''

Temporis stopped biting her nails, and now she's come to another more plausible conclusion to her father's strange behavior.

She looked at her father with tears in her eyes, then, she made up her mind, '' Temporis Oblivion.''

At Temporis's call, blue and gold particles quickly flew into her hands, and suddenly, in her hands, a great blue sword took shape.

Unum, seeing that his daughter's sword was pointed at him, began to back away and sweat a little, ''T-Temp-chan? Why did you call your weapon? And why are you pointing your sword at me?!''

''Now I understand.....you are not senile, you are corrupted. When trying to close the rift, something must have corrupted you, and now you are being devoured by madness.'' Temporis slowly approached her father, holding her big blue sword in her hands, and with a little of tears on her face.

''Eh?! How did you reach that conclusion?! Daddy is fine! So stop it and listen to me, ok?!''

''Don't worry dad, it will be quick, and even if I can't kill you, I can still seal you while I look for a cure for you, don't worry.'' Temporis's tearful face has changed, her eyes are now filled with determination.

Seeing that his daughter was not listening or stopping, Unum appealed to Yuki, '' Yuki-chan, help-me here!''

''Sniff*....''

''Eh??''

''Now I understand...'' Yuki was on the ground again, her hand covered her mouth as she held back the urge to cry, '' Unum-sama...was corrupted while trying to close the crack to keep us safe....and me here, selfishly demanding to go home....I'm ashamed! Sniff*''

''Hey! Don't believe the bullshit she's saying! Let me explain!''

Temporis, getting close enough to her father, raised her sword above her head, and she was ready to attack.

''Time! I said give me time! Stop! I have a reasonable explanation, okay?! Let me explain! Put down the sword Temp-chan! I'm just a clone, stop this nonsense!''

Temporis stopped the attack, but did not lower her sword, '' You have a minute to explain.''

''It's simple! Yuki-chan is special! She's not human anymore, but she's not like the anomalies either! She doesn't have the aura like those creatures, and the best part, she's 'empty'!''

''...In other words?''

''In other words, she's perfect as an assistant! See, as her existence has been devoured, she is no longer trapped in the shackles of creation! She can accompany you between universes easily, and during the anomalye extermination, she can gain strength to help you! The proof is that she can survive here with us easily without the time bubble protecting her!''

Temporis glanced at Yuki, who was still crying dramatically, and realized that indeed the temporal bubble that had been protecting her mortal's soul from being destroyed was gone.

''When did you take her protective bubble?''

''The moment I started to explain the situation! It was a gamble on whether or not she would survive in our presence and within your realm, and I was right!'' Unum said smugly.

''....I see.'' Temporis lowered her sword and the sword disappeared in a small burst of light,''You know, sometimes you can be an asshole, what if her mortal soul was destroyed because of it?''

Unum just shrugged, ''As I said, it was a gamble! And luckily, I was right.''

*Sigh*

''....Alright. I don't trust her, but if you say she's useful then I'll allow her to accompany me, but keep in mind that if she tries anything, I'll destroy her immediately.''

''Well, that's manageable!''

Temporis turned away from her father and floated towards the large double doors of her office.

Yuki, who until now was busy crying for Unum, noticed Temporis leaving and became confused, ''Where is she going?''

''She is going to the Great Hall of The River of Time.'' Said Unum as he approached Yuki.

''Sorry, but...''

''I know.'' Unum offered his hand to Yuki, and she gratefully took it and got up from the ground, ''Don't worry, you'll understand when you get there, in the meantime, how about we talk?''

''Sure, but...why am I coming along?''

Unum didn't respond, he just smiled and signaled for her to follow him.

Yuki followed Unum out of Temporis' office, and they headed for the same golden circular device that had brought Yuki.

Yuki and Unum stood on top of the device, and suddenly it started to move in the opposite direction from Temporis' office.

''I thought Temporis-san would be here?''

''Oh don't worry, she's already gone ahead. She doesn't like to waste time.''

''I see, so, what did you want to talk to me about, Unum-sama?''

''Okay, remember I said I wanted to ask you a favor after the explanation?''

Yuki seemed to know what Unum wanted to ask, but she just kept listening, ''Yes, I do remmember.''

''My request is that you accompany Temp-chan on the mission to exterminate the anomalies.''

Yuki had already expected this, after all he just told Temporis to take her along not much time ago.

''But, Unum-sama, this...''

Unum put his finger over Yuki's lips, preventing her from speaking, ''Before you refuse, listen to what I have to say, okay?''

Yuki hesitated a bit, but in the end she nodded her head, ''Hmm.''

''I won't lie, it's a very dangerous job, and it can take time. And believe me, I feel bad about asking you this, but neither I nor my other daughters can help Temp-chan right now. We're all busy, and other than my job, hers is the hardest.''

''When we go to the mortal world, we cannot go with our original bodies, otherwise the entire universe would explode from the excess energy we exhale. That's why when we go to the mortal world, we create mortal avatars to avoid that. While inside the mortal avatar, we seal almost all of our powers, leaving only a little for protection.''

''Normally, I wouldn't worry about that sort of thing.....'' Unum's expression became more and more afflicted while talking to Yuki.

''But this situation never happened before, and as I said, the anomalies feed on my energy, and Temp-chan was born from me. I'm afraid that if Temp-chan faces one of these creatures and loses, she will be completely consumed and die....''

Yuki was sad to see Unum so afflicted, she can see that even though he is the creator of everything, he is still a loving father, and it reminds her of her parents at home.

''So, as a personal request, I want to ask you to help my daughter with her task. Of course, my fear of her dying isn't the only reason. Like I said before, I can help you get home, but as long as the anomalies and the crack exist, I can't move freely. And with your help, Temp-chan can finish this much faster.'' Unum removed his finger from Yuki's lips and waited for her answer.

''I understand but...how could I help? I'm just a normal human, who recently had a fatal disease....I barely remember what it's feels like to run....'' Yuki looked at her now functioning legs and smiled a little.

''I know, but you're not human anymore, Yuki. Or rather, you are 'nothing', meaning you can become whatever you want.''

''I can become whatever I want? What do you mean?''

''See, every soul is tied to its respective universe and its rules. In your universe, all humans were normal, but they had great minds and they ended up evolving to be great inventors. But not all universes follow the same rules. Unlike the universe you came from, other universes may have completely different characteristics and laws.''

''To explain further, as your existence has been consumed, you are no longer restricted by your universe, you can follow Temp-chan between the different universes, and become familiar with the laws and special features that each world has.''

''So....if there is magic in any universe I go to, I can learn magic and other stuff?''

''Exactly.''

Yuki's heart started beating violently. This was her dream! Have an adventure full of magic and excitement! But....

''But...what about my universe?''

''Don't worry, your universe is safe, I will make sure of that.''

Yuki sighed with relief, ''If I can get home faster doing this....then I accept your request.''

Unum smiled as he saw the determination and youth in Yuki's eyes, hungry for adventure, ''Thank you for accepting my selfish request, Yuki-chan.''

Suddenly, the device stopped in front of an odd square golden giant door. This square door looked more like a vault door.

*Rumble*

The door opened, and behind it, there was another door, which also opened. After several doors open, Yuki can see Temporis waiting for them inside the room. But the room was completely different from what Yuki imagined it would be when he heard Unum say 'Great Hall of The River of Time'.

Temporis turned to see the Yuki and Unum approaching with the golden device carrying them, ''You finally arrived, I was tired of waiting...''
