Chapter Thirty-Five: The Future Seems Exciting

"You two will be getting married in a two days!" The queen clapped with glee.

"WHAT!"

•••

The king and queen were horrified to learn that both Loki and Poppy have faced three near death experiences over the course of the five months that they have been together.

So they decided. "They need to get married now before something else happens."

"Princess Poppy! You look like you've lost weight!" A maid, Dalia, sobbed. "When we heard you almost died three times the whole palace went up in a rage." Lily brushed Poppy's hair. "I knew sending you off with the Duke would be a horrible idea!" Dalia continued.

Poppy shook her head, "despite everything I actually really like living with Loki." Their eyes widened. 'she just called the Duke by his first name?' "Princess. By any chance. Are you in love with the Duke?" Poppy blushed. "Ahh!" They cheered. "Oh Princess! I'm so happy for you!" Lily clapped.

The Duke was silently watching this conversation from the doorway. "I love you too Poppy." He announced. Poppy turned to the door and smiled. The maids looked at each other and quickly exited the room. They winked at Poppy before leaving. Dalia even threw in a thumbs up. Loki eyed the maids. "They seem nice," he stated. Poppy nodded. She walked over to Loki and hugged him.

'I really like his hugs.' She affirmed.

"I'm not surprised your parents told me to stay in your room. They seem like the type of people to want a thousand grandkids." Poppy shrugged, "they like the idea of a big happy family but are to busy to fulfill it."

"Do you want kids?" Loki asked. Poppy shrugged. "I don't think I can have kids." Loki's body stiffened. "What do you mean?"

Poppy hugged him tighter. "Remember when you told me to go to Wilbur to check to see if the potions I drank had any affect on me?" Loki nodded. "Turns out it had many affects on me."

"It stunted my growth. Meaning I am at the same height I've been since I was thirteen. When I hit puberty all the potions screwed with my hormones. I mean everything else developed fine, obviously." Loki held back the urge to look at his fiancé's body, but now his brain was thinking the most immoral thoughts.

"All of this to say. I haven't had my period since I was fourteen. I don't think I can have kids."

"I see."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I lost the chance to say it in whenever everything started going down hill. And then I just... forgot." Poppy explained. Loki shook his head, "it's okay. You're telling me now and that's all that matters."

"Do you still want kids?" Loki asked. Poppy nodded. "I like the idea of raising a family with you. It's sounds exciting."

Loki chuckled at her unique way with words. "Then we could always adopt." Poppy thought about it. Helping kids who may be feeling lonely and abandoned. Being the person she always wanted someone to be for her. "Yeah. Let's do that!" Loki kissed the top of her head.

The next day

Poppy stepped on her flying lab and grinned. It was basically a flying little home. The only way in was through the front door. And the only people with the key were her, Loki, and Steven.

As a wedding gift her parents actually asked what she wanted. And she asked for a store that she could use to sell and buy potions. Selling the things she makes and also getting herbs and potions from other people for her use. It all sounded like the the perfect dream. Her parents agreed.

While the Queen organized Poppy's wedding (Poppy got extremely bored just thinking about organizing the wedding) Poppy was setting up her new lab. Her parents gave her the permit to have a flying lab so she was able to travel around on it for business.

Loki was working with the guards as they continued to help with the after math of the battle. Many homes were destroyed by the monsters dead bodies or their attack magic. It was a devastating day for many civilians, and Loki was working his hardest to help in anyway he could.

Two days went by in a flash. And suddenly it was the wedding day.
