Chapter Two: Get Back.

It was the first day of Rosewood High, this place was so much better than my old school. Bigger. Cleaner. It was perfect. As Hanna and I walked to our first-period, English AP with Mr. Fitz, I hope he was a good teacher. I just hope that he isn't a creep like my old teachers were.

Here goes nothing, I thought. I took a deep breath and walked in, I glanced around the room and see Hanna and her group of friends. Aria Montgomery, Spencer Hastings, and Emily Fields.

They looked different but the same. I blinked before walking over toward the five girls and smiled at them. "Hi, guys!" I greeted them.

"Oh my gosh," said Spencer, "Alisa? Is that you?" She closed the gap and hugged me tightly then the rest of the girls hugged me. It was a little bit overwhelming but I didn't mind it at all.

"You look so different, Alisa," said Spencer. "I remember you were so little and had a baby face. Now, you are all grown up."

"Yeah, people change all the time," I muttered. "So…is Mr. Fitz any good?" I glanced around at the four of them.

"Yeah, he's amazing," said Aria quickly. "You'll love him."

The bell rang, and Hanna, Emily, Aria, Spencer, and I took our seats in the back. Mr. Fitz came walking with a cup of coffee in his hand, setting it down on his desk, and standing in front of the class. "Hello, everyone. My name is Mr. Fitz, your AP English teacher. We have a new student today and her name is Alisa Marin. Welcome to Rosewood, Alisa." He said with a smile and nodded once toward me.

He was cute if you were into that type. I smiled in return and sighed to myself. This is definitely going to be a long day for me. But I have to put on a brave smile. Not just for me but for my Aunt and cousin. I have to make them believe that I am slowly getting better and if I don't then I'll break down.

"So today, we will be reading To Kill a Mocking Bird. I want you to read the first three chapters in class and write a summary about it and hand it in by the end of the class." Mr. Fitz explained while handing out books to each row.

When I got my copy of the book, I looked over the cover of it. I turned to the first page and started reading it. Usually, I never get into books that were 60's or 70's but this book is really good.

Once I got down to read the first three chapters, I got out my notebook and when I turned to the first piece of clean paper, there was a note. And it said:

Peek-a-boo, I see you. You can't escape the truth, Miss. Alisa Marin. The truth comes out eventually. I know what really happened on the night of your parent's death. —A

My heart started to beat fast and hard, I tore out the note and crumpled it up in my hands. I stuffed it into my pocket and glanced around in the room but no one was looking at her.

I want to know who the hell this A person even was. And how did A know about what really happened? It makes no sense. None of this makes any sense. I wish I get get back to the old life I had. I missed it and I want this A person to go away.

I took a deep breath and went back to writing a summary of what I read. By the time I finished, the bell rang. I stood up and gathered up my things and handed my paper to Mr. Fitz.

I walked into the hallway and pulled Hanna aside. "Han, I need to ask you something," I said to her urgently, eyes wide with fear.

"Yeah, sure. What's up? Is everything okay?" she asked.

"No, it's everything's not okay." I took in a breath. "I started getting these notes. Someone named A. Do you know who this A person is?" I asked in a whisper.

Hanna didn't say anything for a moment, her eyes were wide. "Alisa…we need to talk about this another time. But I don't know who A is. I've been getting notes, texts, and e-mails from this person. I'll explain it once we get home. I promise." She walked away with Aria, Spencer, and Emily to their next class.

I just stood there shell-shocked by what Hanna had told her. She has been getting texts from A? her mind was spinning and she couldn't understand why A was targeting her and her cousin. What the hell did she do to this person?

This was getting frustrating for me. Why can't I have a normal life?

I stormed down the hall to my next class. All she could think about was A. Hanna getting messages from A. Her parents. Her ex. Everything.

By the time school ended, I haven't gotten any texts from A. I climbed into Hanna's car and she drove us back home. We sat in the car in silence. Just replaying everything in my head.

Hanna parked the car in the driveway when I noticed three other cars in front of the house. When we walked into the room, Aria, Emily, and Spencer were in the kitchen.

I glanced over at Hanna. "Did you tell them about A?" I hissed at her. "I didn't want anyone else to know about this."

"They have also been getting messages from A as well," Hanna replied.

After we all sat down at the table, Hanna and the others told me about A and they have been figuring out who A was. They all had secrets. Every single one of them. But only Alison knew about their secrets.

I stared at them in shock after hearing all this information. She didn't know how to take it in. I shook my head in disbelief. "This…this can't be true…" I whispered.

All of their phones buzzed or rang. They all looked at each other and each of them picked up their phone. One new text message, it said.

Alisa opened the message, it said:

Each of you has secrets. One by one, I will expose each of them. Wonder who's secret is going to be first? We shall see soon. —A
