Distraught

Victor Heinzwit was the vampire hunter that was able to injure the General Xerion Hellsworn on the night they met.

'Who did this to you Victor?'

Ruviena didn't like the man when he was alive but she wasn't sure if he deserved his outcome now

The vile creature murmuring words that where beyond their understanding, Ruviena took a step back, gesturing Lui to run. Regular humans don't usually survive situations like these if it where to become violent

"But My lady..." Lui whimpered, she didn't want to leave her Lady! She finally had someone she could trust after a long while and now the corpse was trying to cut their bond short.

"Yoran should be headed this way soon, hurry!" Lui hesitated for a few seconds, but then she had come to realize that she would be in her mistress' way. So she ran for the fortress while she yelled help.

Noir already flew away to collide with Yoran and other servants who had heard Lui's alarming scream, He would act as a guide to lead them to her Mistress to aid her.

The two where left alone, Ruviena was on guard as she anticipated the creatures moves.

"T.... heeeeerrr....s" The deformed corpse curdled murmurs where being deciphered in Ruviena's mind. Was Victor trying to tell her something?

"Victor?" Ruviena called out, but she was still on guard, but there was no response from the corpse except eerie breathing

-snap-

The sound of his neck cracked when he's own body gave him a contortion before it started to sprint towards Ruviena while it screeched so loud it was almost deafening!

"Dammit Victor!" Ruviena adjusted her posture, the corpse went for a tackle and it was exactly what Ruviena wanted. She dragged him down with her into a backward roll. Her heeled feet was what the corpse's torso landed on and she used momentum to toss him over her. The corpse stumbled on the grass before both regained their attack and defense stance, although Ruviena had pulled out her silver dagger she had attached on her thighs inside her skirt. Corpses don't go down so easily for the majority, it requires head decapitation to end their suffering and Ruviena planned to do just that.

Another loud screech was released from the corpse, its charges where as if it was going to maul her to death. But each attempt missed by an inch as Ruviena's dodges kept up with its pace. Once the creature misses a strike, Ruviena returns a counter strike, cutting his neck flesh inch by inch.

'This is why I always hated thick dresses!'

Her dress has actually been slowing down her returns, hence she couldn't finish the fuss as quick as she could.

"I-It.... ws...! HERRRRR!!!!" Victor's devastating cry had made his words clear for Ruviena.

'It was her?! Who?!'

Ruviena gritted her teeth. Victor was beyond saving and those words now came out as a miracle for an undead. She wouldn't be able to extract what he wanted to say to her anyway. It was too late

Ruviena then had to drag her heavy dress in a swift turn as she planted a solid round house kick on the corpse, causing it to slam towards a tree. Howbeit before it could regain it's stance to attack once more, A slim silver item was gyrating towards its direction.

She threw her dagger right on the deformed creature's supposed neck area. The little cuts that Ruviena gave him all connected the wounds to each other, causing the head to fall off from it's shoulder as the rest of him slid down against the tree.

"Lady Ruviena!" Yoran came rushing and was unexpectedly slower than she had thought, so where the other servants that immediately checked the perimeter. Ruviena thought that Yoran was slow probably because he is a halfling. Half vampires are indeed half of what the noble and pureblooded ones are, and Yoran lacked the overwhelming speed. But him being late didn't matter to Ruviena. She had already calculated her steps for certain victory like she always do.

"Yoran, This man... was once my subordinate. He was also the one that had shot a special bullet on the general from that certain night." Ruviena tucked her silver strands behind her ear as she studied her former colleague's remains.

"Now he is an undead that was sent to kill me, But from what I know, Necromancers raise the dead. Has the general angered one before?"

Ruviena picked up Victor's head as she pulled it by his dead strands. Not even flinching that she was holding a rotting corpse

Yoran approached his Lady mistress and took the head from her. He turned the head as he examined it like if he was looking for something. There it was...

"My lady, vampires can somewhat bring the dead back to life via turning. This one... was turned after being tortured to death." Yoran turned the head towards the Lady where she could see one punctured wound at the edge of the severed area, the other puncture was on his other half sitting against the tree

"To turn into regular vampires, the victim must be willing to become one, in his case. He was adamant. Now he has become a corpse minion, It's creator managed to make a minion out of him almost identical to how Necromancers control their pets, the difference is, vampires needed fresh corpses while the other doesn't." Ruviena's eyebrows drew close together, this was the first time she had encountered such a method, and on someone she knew. She placed her hand over Victor's dead eyes and closed them.

A moment later his remains drifted into sand that where blown away by the cold air.

'It was her!!!'

Victor's words echoed in her mind as she absorbed the image of dispersing dust.

"One of our enemy, is a pureblood." Ruviena said quietly to herself

"My lady, we should head back inside and see if you have received even the slightest of injury."

'And a bath...' Ruviena thought

All in all, Yoran was glad that his Lord had chosen such a capable bride, the two undoubtedly match each other. The only problem now is if his master will deduct his pay or portion of blood supply for not being able to be by the lady's side when she was in great danger. Yoran cried in his thoughts

Ruviena tilted her head to the side in question when she saw a glimpse of Yoran's grim expression before he turned around to head for the fortress as she followed behind. Noir was hovering above them in the grey skies while Lui had visibly released a relieved sigh as she was now watching her mistress through the large glass window.

-

Slick wet silver hair kissed Ruviena's damp skin as she ascended from the large pool in the General's bathroom. The water lapped around her thighs while she was walking towards the edge when the heavy double door swung open in alarm. Ruviena didn't even get a chance to turn around and see what was all the noise about when the body of water made a big splash and big hands in fingerless gloves held her firmly, keeping her posture faced away from the entrance

"what are you doi—! HEY!!!"

Xerion's hands where thoroughly checking every inch of her supple skin looking for even the slightest scratch.

"You pervert! let me go!" Ruviena attempted to back elbow in her struggle him but instead he had caught her elbow and vigorously turned her around to face him. He began checking her from her wrist, his glaring red eyes trailing on her forearm towards her shoulder. Then Xerion found himself studying her generously sized mounds covered meekly with the other slim arm.

Despite the tempting appearance of his silver wife he had been wanting to go home to, he was more concerned if she had even been bruised from the attack.

Ruviena stared at him in bewilderment, He was so... Serious.

"Pffffft..!" She couldn't hold in her laughter at his expression.

"Woman, this is not a laughing matter!" Xerion's threatening volume barely made it through Ruviena's blurted laughter

"I am sorry! it's not like you to look so seriously anxious. It's quite adorable~"

Xerion clicked his tongue and grabbed Ruviena by her jaws, lightly squishing her cheeks. He was so anxious because he never even felt this anxious before and it was the first time he had experienced it to this extent. He was genuinely worried what had happened to his wife but she took it as if his worries where all but a mere jest.

Ruviena squeeked like a tiny mouse and blinked a few times when Xerion held her head to face him properly. Halting her laugh

Thick furrowed eyebrows, by all means the scar on one of them made him sexier especially with that serious face. Supple lips, well sculpted nose and the strong jaw line. His jet black hair slightly drenched with some strands dangling infront of his eyes that resulted from when he jumped into the pool, and he was still in his uniform!

'This is my husband? Right...?'

His existence suddenly made Ruviena shamelessly shy away as she shrank her petite figure with her eyes diverting to the other direction. She couldn't back away as she was still being held by the elbow. Her blush was from the warm bath but now something else made her cheeks flush red.

'say something! it's getting awkward for crying out loud! and you're naked!' Ruviena cried deep deeeeep down in her mind

"Ehem...Welcome home...?"

"..." No response, No response!

Xerion made her turn her face slightly from side to side,

"General I am unharmed, it was a small incident"

"It is not a small incident when my fortress that keeps whatever I have in it safe has been infiltrated. MY land, But that aside..." Xerion let go of his hold on her jaw and elbow then crossed his strapping arms over his chest

"What exactly happened" He questioned with a firm tone

"Could we atleast talk about it after I am dressed?"

"Right now is fine."

'....!!! Damned perverted blood sucker! Fine'

Ruviena let out an annoyed sigh and glared up at his blood orbs while she furrowed eyebrows. Splaying for him her facial representation of being completely pissed off. And he found it cute despite not budging his own stern look. Not even twitching a lip.

"As you've probably heard from Yoran, I told him that the undead was the suspect for the one that shot you one blood-moon evening ago. When I was lecturing one of your unleashed bitches, I spotted him by one of the trees in the fortress' forest lands. So I..."

"You carelessly went to check anyway" 'and what unleashed bitch is she talking about?' Xerion brushed that topic off realising it was probably Olivia.

"Did you think I could sleep knowing something uninvited would probably try to murder me in my sleep?"

"You couldn't wait for me?" Xerion raised his scarred eyebrow

When is he gonna learn that this woman is not used to being a damsel that would always want a big strapping man to help her out?!

"I can manage with out your help, remember?" Ruviena raised her free arm and caressed the scar on Xerion's eyebrow with her soft finger tips as she flashed him a vixen smile.

Ruviena merely earned thick eyebrows pressed together from him instead.

'What a stubborn man'

Well... Despite her capability, she didn't expect the creature would actually attack her during the day when it was within the general's territory. That was her mistake, but she wasn't gonna admit it anyway. Screw it.

"The undead also kept saying 'It was her'... By any chance do you know a powerful pure blood that despises humans so much that could dare go against your emperor? Specifically a woman"

"Not that I know of, no" Xerion planted a rough palm on top of Ruviena's small hands that where resting on his cheek.

His gaze lingered on her lightly calloused hands, basically gained from years of wielding dangerous weapons. Drawing her palm closer to his face, he planted a light kiss on it which Ruviena's figure gave a minimal flinch of surprise

"What are you doing?" She asked with a hint of nervousness, anticipating her husband's sudden peculiar motion

"Tomorrow night there will be a private banquet exclusive for the pure bloods all over the nation. Come with me" He said in a sonorous voice resonating an odd tone of warmth against her palm with his eyes shut.

"That's not what I asked..." The silver headed woman was trying to yank her hand back, tried, and failed.

Xerion's dark lashes slowly lifted, only slightly. Glowing cerise leered back at her demented state.
