"So Josh let you in through the back door" Dr Ali ascertained
"What did you see inside that house Eve?" she asked knowing
this was where they always met the psychological block. But
Eve continued "he motioned for me to be quiet as we sneaked
inside the darkened corridor. He was a skinny boy, tall for his
age but smart" Eve knew she was stalling but she
had made up her mind to get it out that day. "We walked past
his bedroom and rounded up to another bedroom, separate
from the main building. He stopped abruptly in front of the
room and placed his ears on the door. After a while, he leaned
back, took an old key out of his pocket and unlocked the door.
He nodded at me "Save her" he whispered running back to his
room and leaving me behind"
Eve gulped air and asked nervously "Can I have a
glass of water, please?" She looked around as Dr Ali walked
up to the water dispenser in a corner of the room. She took her
time filling the plastic cup and then walked back to her "Here" Dr
Ali said patting her back and then taking a seat beside her. "Thank
you," Eve said. After taking a little sip of the water, Eve
continued "I was left in front of the room and I took a push at
the door opening it a little, trying to remain hidden. What I
saw inside knocked the breath out of me". She shut her eyes
trying to get the words out but could not. She started crying
softly "I can't....i can't" she whimpered.
"Eve," Dr Ali said softly "It's not your fault whatever
happened" she encouraged her. "But not talking will make this more complicated as there is a murder case on ground and
your life is on the line for it" The lawyer had made a huge
plea to have this session, to help them with the case. "It is
imperative you remember what you saw in the room, Eve" she
implored "or you will be sentenced to life imprisonment for
killing Mr Aransi," Dr Ali said. But Eve sat unmoving in her
seat, staring blankly at the floor." Think Eve!" Dr Ali snapped
"help her!" she said. Suddenly, Eve looked up, eyes bright
"my phone," she said jumping to her feet, checking her pocket
"where's my phone?" She asked as the police came to take her
away.
