Dariya woke up early the next day and got dressed up for college. Wearing a maroon cold shoulders top with frills and white jeans, she put on her converse and hair tied up into a ponytail. She took her bag and walked downstairs for breakfast. Nara was already there sipping her tea. She looked a bit sick. "You Okay?" Dariya asked her. Nara nodded and continued reading the newspaper. Dariya had the french toast and a glass of banana milk and walked outside, she didn't says word as she left. The driver dropped her off in front of the B gate of the campus. She walked in as usual through the side of the volleyball court watching them play. She went to her class and there was no one there. She was relief to spend some time alone before the daily drama begins. She took her kit outside and started sketching in her canvas. Her classmates began to come in one by one. She wished them and put the smile instantly as she saw people.
"Did you know we are going on a field trip for our class?" The boy with a long hair tied up aksed her.
"Where to Steve?" she asked him back, smiling and still sketching.
"Probably to the nearby park or a beach and see what we all paint seeing the same thing differently," Tina said bored, sharing her opinion.
Dariya smiled. "Yeah, I think so too." She replied.
"Why don't they take us to a club and ask us to draw that." Sally, the expert in shading said her opinion aloud. And they all laughed. Sally always crack jokes that kept everyone lively.
It was lunch break. Dariya went to the cafeteria and took her food tray in her left hand, slightly balancing them with the right walking slowly. 'Thank god I'm left handed at least I can draw.' She thought.
"What are you doing?" that same boy who helped appeared out of thin air asking her. He took her tray in his hand looked at her hand, the cut wounds still fresh. He kept the tray in a table and dragged her out of the cafeteria. "Leave me. What are you doing? Excuse me. Am hungry," Dariya kept saying. She took her hands and stopped walking. But he said nothing and dragged her by her hands again and went down straight to the college infirmary. He made her sit in the waiting area and went to get the doctor.
"What's her name?" The doctor was asking. "I don't know." He replied and came to the waiting area. Dariya got up as she saw the doctor.
"It's you. How are you, ma'am? What happened?" the doctor asked her as soon as he saw her. The boy stood there surprised for a moment.
"you don't know her?" the doctor asked him. He shook his head. The university infirmary was sponsored by her father. The food products that we eat daily here from the cafeteria comes from their company. She is the only daughter and she has an elder brother. He comes here often to check himself directly that nothing is wrong in the food supplied. They are a very prominent family." The doctor said everything to him. Dariya sat there looking down as the doctor applied medicine and dressed her wounds, embarrassed, trying to avoid his face while he stood there smiling.
