The chilling wind howled outside Ravenswood Manor, setting the stage for a night that none of its occupants would ever forget. Inside the dimly lit drawing room, Jane Montgomery, Ellie Thompson, Detective Marcus Hayes, Sarah Williams, and Thomas Carter gathered around a large oak table, the atmosphere thick with tension and anticipation.
Thomas Carter, the paranormal investigator, had set up an array of candles, crystals, and other mystical objects on the table. "This ritual," he began, "will require the utmost focus and dedication. We must all contribute a personal item to create a bond between us and the spirits."
One by one, each person placed a personal item on the table. Jane placed a locket containing a picture of her parents, Ellie contributed a handwritten letter from her grandmother, Detective Hayes added a small badge from his father, and Sarah offered an old book of town records. Lastly, Thomas placed a silver cross necklace.
"As we join hands," Thomas continued, "we must open our minds and hearts to the spirits and be willing to make a sacrifice to break the curse."
Reluctantly, the group joined hands, forming a circle around the table. The candles flickered as Thomas began chanting in a language none of them understood, the words echoing eerily throughout the room. The room fell silent, the weight of Detective Hayes' words hanging heavily in the air. William Ravenswood nodded solemnly, accepting the detective's offer.
Thomas Carter quickly began the ritual to transfer the curse onto the silver cross necklace.
