The Hunter's Reign of Terror
Morning, January 8, 1997, Zafira Medical Centre.
Maimoona and Fatima were shaken after witnessing the brutal attack on their friend Amna. They couldn't believe what they had seen and were terrified by the thought that some evil person is roaming around their neighborhood.
"What happened darling," Maimoona and Fatima asked Amna, seeing her lying on the bed scared.
"I was attacked by someone last night. First I thought it was that guy in the park but the one who attacked me doesn't look like a human." She fearfully told them both the whole scene of last night.
"We have to do something about this," Maimoona said, looking around nervously. "I can't believe that thing is still out there.".
Fatima nodded in agreement. "We can't just sit around and wait for it to strike again. We need to find out what it is and stop it before it hurts anyone else.".
Meanwhile, the police arrived at Amna's house to record her statement about the attack. She recounted the details of the incident to the officers, explaining how she had been ambushed by a shadowy figure with an ice pick.
"It wasn't human," Amna insisted, shaking slightly. "It was some kind of monster. I could feel it watching me before it attacked.".
The police officers exchanged a skeptical look. "Are you sure it wasn't just a person wearing dark clothes?" one of them asked.
Amna shook her head firmly. "No, I'm sure of it. It was something else. You have to believe me.".
There was a piece of news around the town after the incident.
"Breaking news from Zafira News Network. A woman was attacked outside her home last night. Amna Shahzad was walking home when she was ambushed by an unknown assailant. According to witnesses, the attacker was a shadowy figure who fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Mrs. Shahzad has been rushed to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Police have launched an investigation and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops."
Waleed sat nervously on his couch, watching the news report on the recent attack on Amna. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door. He cautiously approached the door and opened it, finding two stern-looking police officers on the other side.
"Waleed Ahmed?" the officer asked.
"Yes, that's me," Waleed replied, his heart racing.
"We need you to come with us to the station. We have some questions regarding the attack on Amna Shahzad," the officer said.
Waleed's eyes widened in shock. "What? Why? I had nothing to do with it," he protested.
At the police station, Maimoona and Fatima were already there, giving their statements to the officers. When Waleed was brought in, they pointed at him, accusing him of being involved in the attack.
"He was always jealous of Amna's happily married life. He must have done it himself or hired someone to hurt her," Maimoona said.
Fatima nodded in agreement. "He's been acting strange lately, always talking about how he wants to teach her a lesson," she added.
"I didn't do anything. I was not even in town at the time of the attack. You can see the CCTV footage in the news. It wasn't me." Waleed said in disagreement.
The police listened to their statements but found no evidence against Waleed. They had to release him, but the accusations lingered in the air, leaving Waleed shaken and bewildered.
Everything was going well for a while. The people of Zafira had forgotten Amna's words as a self-created story of her madness. All the affairs were going well, but suddenly news came out that on January 14, 1997, a girl named Maryam Malik was attacked. This attack was exactly the same attack that had been done with Amina.
After this attack, some people are starting to believe Amina's words. They believe that it is done by a supernatural entity but Maimoona and Fatima still thought this was done by Waleed.
Maimoona and Fatima thought that now they both have to go and talk to Waleed face to face. They have to reveal the truth. For them, Waleed is doing this just to show his power to Amna.
"Tell us the truth now or we will kill you right now." Fatima grabbed Waleed by the collar as she saw him walking by the park.
"What truth? I did nothing." Waleed got confused.
"Why are you torturing the innocent girls?" Maimoona asked.
"I didn't do anything. Believe me…" Waleed took a deep breath. "… Listen…". He told them about the shadow hunter, that he is in the town, and that he won't stop until all the Virgo girls got attacked.
Fatima keeps an eye on Waleed for a very long time.
Now again on January 22, 1997, Ambreen Habib got attacked in the same way. Now Fatima is a bit too scared because seeing this scenario because she is a Virgo too.
