The Race Part I

The black bag was ripped from my head, my eyes tired and my body heaving from the amount of dust I sucked in. Darkness, I quickly blinked to adjust my eyes.

I was in an old athletic wears shed, horrible wood walls and copious amounts of dodgeballs and tennis rackets. I looked around, the last glimpse of light taken away as the door was locked. I got caught, damnit.

Fuck, what was going to happen to us, this was going south real fast, at least this situation couldn't get worse.

Cough* Cough*

My eyes widened as I saw Autumn cover her mouth in pain. I completely forgot I was not the only one put in this dusty situation...

No time for puns!!!

I rolled my eyes, sometimes I hated my own brain. Besides my idiotic self, I rushed over to Autumn, her smooth skin already covered in dust as we sat on the concrete.

"Are you okay?!" I gently put my hand on her shoulder, her entire body jolting as I did. She pushed me away slowly, "I'm fine."

I pulled away and sat against a stack of blue wrestling matts. I looked around, little light filtered in, and the few beams that did were already turning red. Did I leave the house that late?

I sighed and looked at Autumn, "We need to get out of here, l'll look for a way out, calm down for a sec. Okay?"

Autumn just nodded, her face red as she took her gaze elsewhere.

I pushed myself to my feet, moving toward the door. I leaned against it.

Sealed shut, no way was this going to be easy. Wait, was this even happening?

Why would Nikko go so far, just because I'm running for Student Council President? Was it that big of a deal? The chances of me winning were slim, and I was sure this would seal the deal. Just like Jane said, "They only know you as an First Year who has skipped most of his first week of school." Or something similar to that.

We needed to get out of here. My phone. I quickly took it out of my pocket, Marcus was still waiting patiently on the other end. I put it close to my ear.

"Senpai no that hurts! Uhh-"

I narrowed my eyes, "Marcus?"

The audio cut off for a second, "Oh shit, your back, took you long enough, whats up?"

I blinked a few times deciding to ignore what previously happened and sighed, "Look, me and Autumn just got nabbed by the current school president, he is holding us against our own will."

Marcus took a huge bite out of something, "Isn't that illegal?"

"NO SHIT ITS ILLEGAL DUMBASS, NOW HELP ME FIND A WAY TO GET OUT OF HERE!"

I huffed after speaking my mind.

Marcus sipped a soda, "Okay, were are you?"

I looked around, the small shed not bearing to resemblance to anything familiar. There was athletic equipment, but this was too low quality for Grand Dobi, no way could this be on the campus.

"I think I'm in-"

It cut out.

My screen crackled before dying out. DID MY BATTERIES SERIOUSLY JUST DIE?!

I looked at Autumn who had a hand on her chest, breathing slowly as she took in the scenery.

"Do you have your phone on you Autumn?"

Autumn took it out, she pressed the power button. Nothing, just the black screen.

"That can't be right, I charged it to full, how is-"

Autumn fell over, her eyes slowly closing and her body thudding on a mattress. I gasped and flung myself to stop her head from hitting too hard. I caught her head, her hair filled with sweat. She wasn't boding to well, I surveyed the area again.

She was unconscious, most likely from all the stress that she had, it happens I guess.

I propped myself against the stack of dusty mats, my mind filled with so many questions.

What now?

What about school?

What about food?

Gruuuuuuuuu*

I looked down toward my stomach, the idea of starving coming into my mind. I was already hungry. I slammed my hand against the concrete.

Damnit!

I decided to hop to my feet once again.

I made my way over to the double doors. I readied myself. The door creaked as my shoulder collided with the cold metal, the old metal churning. Then, nothing.

I tried again.

And again.

And again.

And one more time for good measure. I knew it was Sunday, and around seven o-clock meaning it would be dark soon.

I gazed up at the small broken window.

Man, what bullshit did I need to get out of this one?
