CHAPTER FIVE: The Discovery

Ever since the police chief returned from the commissioner of police office, the attitude towards the serial murder case changed.

James and his team members were not only surprised at the police chief attitude which spanned update on any information they retrieve even up to establishing a fresh squad to apprehend the criminal. Investigation has continued and they were optimistic about the results in order to achieve their goal of apprehending the criminal.

" Sir,we got some information regarding the Ivin poison we were trying to figure out," Ken started immediately they commenced the meeting which include the new members of the crowd who were sent by the police commissioner to assist them in handling the case.

" Really, that's good news. Now share it with us what you were able to gather."

"Were you able to obtain germane information about the poison?" He asked.

" Not really, but we got some facts about the poison. There's a businessman who for now is the only one selling it. The second victim was not poisoned or was she?" Ken asked.

" The forensic unit didn't include that in the report. That remains the only difference in the killing of the two victims," James answered.

" The businessman is a dealer in various commodities whether illegal or legal in Raws. We asked around and it was said that nobody really knows the man or can recognize him," Ken said sadly.

" How then is he able to sell his commodities?" Mark asked. He is one of the Men that were sent to aid the operation by the policy commissioner.

" They said you order for it online while it's delivered to your house door three days after. Making it important to even knowing the man in charge," Alex answered.

" What then is the name of this shady businessman?" Angelina asked.

" They said that the name is Max," he said.

" Guys,we all know that there's a lot of things at stake if we fail to nab this criminal who we are not even sure if there is accomplice or a group. We need to devise a plan in this meeting today and report back to the police chief today," James declared.

Silence dominated the meeting room with everybody deep in his or her thought trying to produce a plan. How will they be able to deduce a plan when the nature of the crimes were close to being regarded as perfect.

This is really a headache for the police and even the whole Raws. If a person can have the temerity to commit such and it is giving the police force problem, who can actually do that? The answer quite rhetorical in nature.

" Sir,if I'm being honest with you I will actually say that this person might is actually a professional for commiting such killings with a touch of professionalism."

" I feel like we are tackling this case from a wrong angle," Precilia said.

" Can you give a clear explanation to that?" James asked.

" I mean we should look for something that is similar to the two crimes and start the investigation from there. We can continue looking for the Ivin poison seller but that should not be the basis for the investigation,"Precilia addressed.

" How about we look at it from the history of the past serial killers and study their various methods which I believe might actually be of help,"She suggested.

" That's a good suggestion and we will implement it right away. There's actually a record of some past serial killers that were apprehended. Let's all endeavor to go through them and then prepare for the next step when we converge together for the next meeting."

" We really need to tighten our rope,we don't know when the next murder with occur and the next victim. We need to have a lead to prevent the next murder.

" Alright Sir, we will work on that as soon as possible," They said in a uniform order.

" Good, I will be expecting positive feedback this week. Ken and Mark should get ready. We're going somewhere together right now!" James said.

When they were having the meeting, his mind went to the criminal scene where Mr.Collins the second victim was brutally murdered. It was an unusual feeling which he knows the only way to be at ease with himself is to actually return back to the scene and check for himself.

Who knows there might actually be a lead somewhere there. He has always believed that there is no perfect crime and he's trying as much as possible to prove that the crime will not debunk his belief.

They got to Kost and without wasting much of their time, they started the search trying to hunt for any incriminating evidence.

While the two men that came with him searched the environment,he entered the store where the person was actually killed.

The victim was killed in a store,he probably went to purchase some things which means the killer followed him up to that place and squeezed life out of him there.

James was with the belief that if at all there's something incriminating that could help them with the case,it will probably still be there coupled with the fact that the plan was closed and the people were banned from moving close to the scene.

The only obstacle would be if the killer came back there to check the place if truly there's something implicating there.

He scanned the store critically for anything while praying for a miracle. They need just anything useful which can help them solve the case.

He was still in the store scanning the area for anything when he heard his name. He quickly left the store and joined them outside wishing that they found something.

" What is the problem?" He asked furrowing his brow when he could not decipher any reason for calling him and saw that Ken's hand was empty.

" Sir,we found this hidden beside the tree opposite to the store. It possibly belongs to the victim," Alex said, handing over the discovery to James..
