The Man

She didn't notice the man was already standing in front of her.

"If we're not going to take orders and serve, what will we do?" she asked, her eyebrows narrowing.

"You will wash the dishes," he replied in a teasing tone. His lips curled into a captivating smile as she saw his teeth; straight and white. He was like a model in a T.V. advertisement for toothpaste. He has thin and lustful lips. She keeps on blinking her eyes, trying to erase the thought running on her mind. Most especially the thought of wanting her lips pressed against his.

"Hey, did I scare you? Don't worry I'm just kidding. You're just going to stay at the counter as a cashier and I will deal with the customers." She felt like his voice was a melody to her ears. She continued nodding. "Okay," she uttered in a low voice, hiding her embarrassment from earlier.

"So, you're fine now?" Oddette's voice dragged her back to reality.

"Yes. I'm sorry, I thought we were going to do those tough works," she answered, sheepishly laughing to herself. "I mean imagine carrying those drinks and meals. I'm scared that it may be too heavy to a point that I might slip and break stuff," she exclaimed.

"Don't worry, my Señorita. I won't let you do hard work, trust me." He winked and left. She feels her cheeks redden from his compliment. He even called her Señorita; a nickname which no one has ever used to call her before. She knew that her cheeks were like ripe tomatoes from shyness. She immediately bowed her head to hide her face from her best friend, though in the end she knew she wouldn't be able to hide the fact that she was captivated by that man's appearance.

She's still grateful the man left after he winked at her. She's now wondering if she will work with this man. Will she survive? Will she be able to handle the situation if she's next to him? She may be developing a crush on him and she's not sure if she can do her job well.

Upon finishing their meal, the named Zoren came back to their table, together with another guy. She recognized him when she first came inside the shop.

"Ladies, this is Ben," he introduced the man. "He's also newly hired here," he said. He pulled one of the chairs and sat beside her while he motioned his hand towards the other stool for Ben to sit.

"We're going to have two groups, Oddette, Ben and Charlie - whom you will meet tomorrow. You three will be the first group," he exclaimed looking at the two people in front of them. She can see that Oddette and Ben were attentive. "And you my dear Señorita will be on my team along with Max," he said with a captivating smile.

Emmie gulped to herself. Damn. Don't give me that sort of smile, I might fall.

After a few seconds of lagging, she nodded her head in response. "Y-Yes," she said, stammering.

"The women will stay at the cashier while the men are obliged to do the hard work." They all nodded to his words. "Though ladies, we need your help in closing and opening time to help for light work," Zoren explained.

"What time are we going to start?" Oddette asked.

"Regarding that..." Zoren paused for a second, his gaze shifting towards her. "First group will start their work around

seven o' clock in the morning until three o' clock in the afternoon, which is your team Oddette," he answered.

Upon realizing that the two of them were separated, Emmie looked at her boss with a worried look on her face. She noticed him staring right back at her before opening his mouth again. "Yes, our team will be from three o' clock in the afternoon until eleven o' clock in the evening," he added to which she flinched.

"Ho... how can I go home?" she asked, twisting her tongue. "There are no more tricycles at that time. The terminal closes at ten o' clock in the evening," she explained.

"You don't have to worry, I'm going to drive you home," he reassured her. "Just tell me your address, the same way Max does. I will not let my subordinates go home late at night without any service," he added. "If I care about Max, how much more of it's you? You're too fragile to walk at night time alone." His words made her feel flattered. A smile crept into her face.

"Thank you."

"You're most welcome," he answered back, but before she could see his captivating smile she averted her gaze towards Oddette. She caught her best friend staring at Ben who's looking at Zoren.

She secretly kicked her under the table to call up her attention. Luckily, she hit her right on the spot to which her friend immediately looked at her with a glare on her face.

"Now give me your documents. Don't forget to put your ID pictures, passport size, and I'll go get the contract." Zoren's voice interrupted them. He immediately got up and went to the counter.
