Her body was weakened yet she was conscious. She
closed her eyes still panting from the thing they did but managed
to act like she was asleep.
The cock then crowed loudly, signifying that it was
already morning. When she was just about to open her eyes, she
felt James remove his arms around her waist and gently got off
from the bed.
She thought he was just going to move a little so that he
could stare at her sleeping face but judging by how she couldn't
feel his presence, she thought of the latter.
Tears started welling up her eyes, the moment she heard
the door closed. She knew he only grabbed his clothes, dressed
up and left.
She was afraid and broken. Was she right in the end?
The weekend was over and today was the first day of the
week. She woke up early in the morning upon her consciousness
still filled with guilt and mixed feelings.
What if she meets him up in class? How will they react
towards each other? Will she be able to handle it?
A lot of questions were filling her head up. She was
growing anxious and scared because of how he acted; leaving
her without any words at all.
When she arrived at school, the bell immediately rang.
Everyone in her classroom was already gathered, seated, waiting
for their subject teacher.
Oddette sat beside her with a book in her hand. She bit
her lip. How will she act later?
Time passed and there was no sign of him elsewhere.
Emmie was with her group of friends in the cafeteria when she
roamed her eyes everywhere, looking for a familiar stature.
"Seriously? He's leaving?" Mr. Delgado asked.
"But for what reason?" another teacher asked.
She overheard a group of faculty members, gossiping
among themselves.
"I don't know. He just sent a resignation letter," Mrs.
Cruz replied.
"It hasn't been long since he was assigned here and now
he's resigning?" Mr. Delgado said.
Her eyes widened in shock. What did he mean by those
words? Are they talking about the person she's thinking of?
"Who will handle his class now?" the other teacher
asked.
Emmie suddenly stood up from her seat, excusing
herself. She can't believe she just heard all of those words from
the faculty. She immediately walked towards the washroom, her
knees trembling and her stomach aching.
At any moment, it feels like she will collapse on the
floor with a weakened state of mind. Tears rolled down her eyes.
She couldn't control herself anymore. She's been trying to bottle
up everything already to a point that it bursted open.
She wiped the continuous flow of her tears as she tried
to calm down. She heard footsteps coming from the other side of
the door to which she was alarmed. She made her way inside the
cubicle and sat on the water closet. Upon the people leaving the
restroom, she finally managed to come out again.
She washed up the tears from her eyes and looked at her
gaping appearance. The reflection stares right back at her with
red stinging sclera.
As the water brushed past her face, a handkerchief
suddenly emerged out of nowhere. When she turned to look at
the person holding it, she noticed Oddette from behind her.
"I thought you were already in our classroom," she
uttered, looking confused. "Well anyway, I have something to
tell you so wait for me," she added to which her friend dragged
her back inside the washroom.
Upon her taking a quick restroom break and washing her
hands onto the sink, Oddette opened her mouth.
"Did you know that sir James resigned?"
She was already aware of those words earlier but still
hearing it made it worse. She shrugged her shoulders, acting
unresponsive.
Her feelings were numbed, her thoughts continuously
escaping. She's not even sure how she was able to prepare for
school every day and how she was doing in her studies.
Upon one evening, she threw herself across the couch. It
was a weekend. As she was busy deluding herself from the same
thoughts, she felt a light pat on her shoulder.
"Are you alright?" Miranda asked. Her voice was full of
concern. She probably noticed something happened, especially
with how she was acting.
As she was about to open her mouth to speak, her
stomach suddenly rumbled. She rushed towards the washroom
with an unbearable pain radiating from her abdomen. She
vomited to which Miranda immediately helped.
Exactly two months have passed, she leaned her chin
onto her hand. Until now, she's still waiting for James to come
back despite it being impossible.
The same school gate engulfed her view as she
renowned herself towards the world. Everything she had
experienced so far was bitter.
James was replaced by Mrs. Crawford, a new teacher
who knew how to cherish her students. She was now her adviser,
a mother figure in her eyes while Mr. Delgado replaced James as
a subject teacher.
Emmie stroke her abdomen with mixed resentment and
bitterness. It's been two months since it occurred and something
in her was growing; a new life.
Honestly, she has no idea as to how she will survive this,
knowing that everything was her fault.
A thin smile crossed her lips as the wind gushed its way
to stroke her locks of hair.
She doesn't know how she'll keep moving forward but
with the help of her best friend Oddette, Miranda and Alfred...
she thinks she can handle it.
