Grieving

Athena furrowed her brows upon hearing that, her plan was not to come back here but the letter from her dad made her come back here, and it seemed to her that Evans was aware of the fact that she would come back here which made her feel apprehensive, glancing at Evans and the little smirk he had on his face, she felt like punching him but she curbed that feeling for the sake of her parents.

"What payment do you want?" Athena asked.

"Don't worry about that for now, as long as you know that you need to pay to seek refuge"

Both Evans and Athena had forgotten that there was somebody in their midst or rather they chose not to acknowledge the somebody, that was until the somebody decided to make their presence known because it felt left out.

Lilliana walked up to both Athena and Evans trying to make her presence known, after seeing Evans and Athena speak like they knew each other she felt annoyed, the thing is Lilliana was aware that the church was not really a church and Evans was not really a priest(she overheard it from her father's study), and because she had a massive obsession with him she felt like he belonged to her.

Walking up to them she asked, "do you both know each other?". She tried to stay close to Evans to make it seem like both Evans and her were really close, but Evans shifted away from her.

Athena not knowing the dynamics of a catholic church said, "Are you two married?" Evans with a horrified expression was quick to deny while Lilliana had a blushing look on her face while saying "no" coquettishly. Athena nodded and turned to Evans, with a look on her face that said "show me where I stay" seeing this Evans led Athena away.

Lilliana, noticing her question had not been answered and that both Evans and Athena had left, stamped her foot and left the church in anger.

Athena glanced at the room she was supposed to stay in, it consisted of a single bed and a bathroom, there was a table and a chair at the corner, she turned around to face Evans, nodded her head and slammed the door shut in his face.

Evans: "...."

He had a light smirk as he left to go about his business, suddenly remembering something, he glanced back at Athena's door before hesitating and then left. Meanwhile, Athena laying on the bed thinking about what will occur after the red moon, while closing her eyes she felt wetness on her cheeks, touching it she noticed they were tears.

Athena hardly ever cried and she didn't know what emotions felt like, so she didn't know what she felt was sadness, she was stunned for a while before letting the tears flow freely while hugging her backpack, she remembered a memory of when was two she woke up at night due to a nightmare crying, her mom held her while rocking back and forth also whispering soft words in her ears, so she envisioned the backpack as her mom while trying to remember what her mom whispered in her ears that night. Memories poured forth through her mind, all about her mom and dad, some were not clear, there was a lot of memories of them having sad looks on their faces, some of them were of her mom crying alone in her room when she thought no one was watching, thinking back to these memories and how she stood on the sidelines just watching, she didn't know what came over her but a sob broke through her mouth, and like a dam being broken the emotions she had never felt before broke through, sadness, anger, denial, loss, acceptance, determination. She laid there for a long time while crying.

Evans standing Infront of a window, had a look of sadness on his face.

"She's finally grieving, that's good I guess" he sighed while thinking about the promise he made to Athena's father. Raven sat behind him with a worried expression, he looked constipated...

ONE HOUR BEFORE THE RED MOON

Athena had fallen asleep while crying, she slept unknowingly till it was almost time for the red moon to appear, Evans had dismissed everybody from the church and had shut the doors and the windows, before he went to Athena room to call her, when he was about to knock on her door the door swung open, he noticed that she had just woken up and she looked adorably cute but he maintained a stoic face while going on an inner rampage on how adorable she looked.

"Let's go" he said while walking away.

Athena glanced at him before going back to her room to get her backpack, then she followed him, they walked in silence for a while before Evans stopped before a wall and pushing a spot on the wall, Athena committed that to her memory, a loud sound was heard before the wall Infront of both of them shifted then opened slightly big enough for both of them to pass through, once through she noticed that she looked like she was in an underground chamber, that looked like a dungeon and there was light passing through a window bar, it was wide enough for her to see the sky and then she noticed that the moon was out.

"Evans is she one you were talking about?" a voice asked, that was when Athena took notice that apart from her and Evans, in the dark there were two men with them underneath the church, she cocked her head in confusion before glancing at Evans.

Evans seeing her look of confusion, introduced them "the one with dark hair is raven and the other with purple eyes is Damien". Athena nodded she knew Evans and Raven but not Damien, so she referenced him to the letter as the troubled young man, satisfied with the answer she nodded her head again.

"ehh she's so adorable, where did you pick her up from?" Damien asked, and immediately after asking the surrounding got gloomy.

Evans glanced at Athena contemplating whether or not he should tell her what he knew about her parents.
