Chapter 47: One Room

Carter yawned as he got out of the rental car and stretched out his back. He opened the trunk and walked around to pull out their luggage from it. He sighed and slipped their carry-ons over the handles of their hardcase luggage. Ariana watched his fingers clutch around the handles as she locked the car and followed him to the front doors of the hotel.

Carter walked up to the front desk with a warm smile. "I have a room booked for Carter Anderson."

He gave the woman his I.D and card. She placed the keycards in a leather-bound book on the counter and he took them with his I.D and card. "Thank you."

"You're welcome, Mr. Anderson. Welcome and enjoy your stay with us." She smiled at him, and he nodded as he walked away with Ariana beside him.

"Adalee didn't get me a separate hotel suite?" Ariana whispered up at him and he smirked, as he pressed the button to call the elevator.
