Chapter 1: Back Home

In the streets of Houston.

Lily walked around the warehouse, carrying loads of goods and throwing them into the container quickly.

As she worked, she looked at her watch. She was conscious of time; otherwise, she wouldn't get paid.

Soon, it was evening. She smiled as she succeeded, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Here is your check. We shall see tomorrow." "

Thanks ma'am! Goodnight," she said as she took the cash and left.

On getting home, she sat on a small stool in her corridor as she calculated all she tried to make that day.

Worry then appeared on her face. This money still wasn't enough.

"How am I gonna cope if I keep making this amount of sh*t every day? Momma has to be safe and sound," she said to herself before she stood up and walked into the room.

The house was a one-bedroom apartment, and she lived there with her mom, Mother Costa, and her younger sister, Cathy, alone.

Mother Costa was lying on their simple bed, very low to the floor, when her daughter walked in.

"Mom! How are you?"

"Lily, I'm fine. Have you eaten? Why do you look so skinny?"

"Mom, what are you saying? I'm looking my best; you don't have to worry about anything, okay? I'm very fine, and I'm sure Cathy is too." she said, taking her mom's attention away from her.

"She's right, mom. We are big girls now!" Cathy's cheerful voice sounded as she walked in. "Cathy, let's talk." Lily said, dragging Cathy out.

"Sis, I made this today. Please add it to what you have." crying, "Sister, I know it's hard, but I promise to do my best. Mom will be fine." Lily became speechless.

Stretching her hands, she gave Lily a warm hug.

"I'm thinking of going to Olympia Restaurant tomorrow. There could be an opportunity there; who knows?"

"Good luck, sister!"

"Thanks, Cathy!" she said as she hugged her.

In the CEO's office, Morgan Empire

"Master, the private jet will be ready soon." Assistant Ray informed.

"Okay!" Nodding his head, he stood up.

Soon, Chris was already in the jet with his assistant as they took off.

The next morning, Lily walked to Olympia restaurant.

"Hi, sir!" She greeted me as she walked into the manager's office.

"Hey beautiful! What do you need?" the manager asked.

"I'm in need of a job, sir," she answered.

Looking her up and down, the manager found her attractive as he salivated.

Lily didn't understand what was going on at all as she looked at him innocently.

"Come closer," he ordered.

Lily went closer as she watched him.

The manager in charge then stretched his hand to her boobs.

In shock, she freaked out and jumped back.

"What's wrong, sir?" I only need a job," she asked as she looked at him, pissed.

"I don't think you need a job. If you can't do what your friends are doing, you might as well leave my office," he commanded.

Shocked at the recent development, she walked out.

Lily got to the outside of the restaurant as she sat down on a carved seat and bent her head to cry.

She didn't know what to do anymore. The hard labor she does at the warehouse couldn't fetch her enough money. She needed something better to manage.

Madam Cross drove into the car park when she spotted Lily crying on the carved block.

Heading towards her, she pitied Lily when she saw her face.

"What's wrong, dear?" she asked, sitting down close to her.

"I need a job, please. I just need to be able to cater for my mom; she's battling cancer. I need to provide for her." Lily cried as she held Madam Cross like her life depended on it.

"There's a vacancy in this restaurant. Why don't you go to the manager and apply?" she asked.

"I was there a few minutes ago. But I couldn't get it. I didn't do what I had to." "What's that, girl?"

"I had to trade my body. I can't. My mother would be very upset."

Madam Cross froze.

Is that what the manager does now? She thought. Looking at Lily, "follow me."

Lily looked up as she wondered what was going to happen next.

Standing up immediately, she followed behind.

Madam Cross badges into the manager's office with anger.

"So that's what you do now. Sleep with Houston girls before giving them a job," she said to the manager as she walked in.

Sitting up, the manager froze. He never expected Madam Cross to come in at that time. "Good day, Madam!" be greeted.

"Bad day to you! You are fired," she said as she went into her office room, leaving him there.

"Madam, please, I'm sorry," he begged as he rushed to her.

"Get lost! We don't need your type in our community." She shouted as she demonstrated that he had left.

When he left, she went close to Lily and placed her on the seat.

"This is yours, girl. Please manage it. I know you need daily cash as well. That's why I will also make you the head of the waitresses here." Madam Cross said.

Lily was already at the point of tears again as she held Madam Cross and hugged her tight.

"Thank you, ma'am!" she said gratefully.

"You are welcome." Madam Cross replied as she patted Lily and walked out of the office, leaving her alone.

Not long after, Master Chris, in his private jet, landed in Houston with his assistant. Putting on his phone, messages were already all over.

"Master, the investors are already in the said spot and waiting for us to arrive," he informed.

"Get the car!" Master Chris replied.

Soon, they arrived at Olympia restaurant to have their meeting, as they had ordered wines.

At that moment in Olympia restaurant, Lily had already resumed duties as she urged her fellow staff to hurry up so as to satisfy the customers.

She then spotted a large but empty table with men surrounding it.

Nodding her head out of frustration, she decided to serve them herself since every other staff member was so occupied.

Turning to go and serve them, she stopped in her first step.

Why did they look so mysterious?
