Interrogation #1

I hear Julian's muffled screams as someone binds him next to me.

There is a black bag on my face, not allowing me to inspect my surroundings. I try to remember what happened after Julian's unexpected break-in and Wist's death.

But in vain.

Suddenly, the black bag is removed from my face.

And just as I expected, Emilia stands in front of me. Her face showing the unmistakable expression of fear and excitement. She gestures me," Watch."

She removes the bag of Julian's face. His screams finally become clear.

"Leave me!" He screams.

I turn my head left to look at Julian. He seems angry but fearful. He looks at me, and in a second his eyes gape open as if he sees a ghost.

Emilia speaks, in a voice that can make even the Hawk double-think about his life choices," Where are the documents."

"Shut up." Julian responds, in a rather calm tone.

Emilia responds by going to his right to another table that is fixed to the wall. From there, she retrieves my weapon's bag and takes out the daggers.

She rushes towards Julian, and points the knife at his neck. She continues," I said, where are the documents!"

"Go to hell!" He shouts.

Silence. No direct response. Emilia reaches for her bag and takes out her tablet.

"You have a daughter, right?"

Julian responds," No, you don't! NO, YOU DON'T!"

He tries to escape his bindings, trying to lunge at Emilia who nears him and pushes him back on his seat.

Next, Emilia decides to finally free me.

I walk next to her and she continues her conversation with Julian.

"What if we...?" She shows two videos to Julian.

One shows her daughter playing in a room full of toys, a nanny standing in the background like a sentry. The other shows two police men standing outside a house gate.

Emilia continues," So what's it gonna b--?"

Julian abrupts her," Ok, I will tell you! Everything."

Emilia smiles, feeling accomplished. She whistles in 2 quick successions.

The next thing I knew, a teary-eyed Sic stands on the doorway.

Emilia gestures him to Julian, "Take him out of here."

Sic creeps towards Julian and instead of untying him, lifts up his chair into his arms.

No chances taken.

Emilia, I and Sic almost exit the room when suddenly I remember something, something I need to ask.

From Julian.

I mutter," Stop. I want to have a chat with him." I point at Julian.

"Do you know what happened last time when you did that?" Emilia retorts. I respond," Actually, that part is still a bit hazy to my mind."

Emilia in response just shrugs. She mentions Sic to let Julian down.

2 minutes Later

After Julian is settled, Emilia and Sic decide to leave the room, some important work they say.

I turn towards Julian.

"The interrogation is not over yet." I speak

Julian looks at me, his eyes glinting at fear locked deep inside.

I continue....

"Part 2 begins now."
