This morning Flo sat on the bus seat that would take her to her workplace.
Her eyes then focused on the open bus door, then a middle-aged woman entered. The woman seemed to be looking for an empty seat, even though that morning all the bus seats were full.
The woman with short curly hair whose hair had turned white, wore glasses with brown eye cat frames. One hand held a stick that helped her walk.
Flo looked around the bus, no one wanted to give up their seat to the old woman even though they were men.
She had to take a deep breath seeing that everyone's sense of concern had disappeared, even to the woman who looked very weak.
"Grandma, just sit here"
Flo got up from her seat, and she gave her seat to the woman.
The woman looked at Flo for a long time, but she didn't hesitate to accept the help that Flo gave.
"Are you a nurse?" she asked Flo who was standing next to her seat.
"Yes," Flo answered briefly with a thin smile.
"I can see it from your work uniform," the woman explained.
Hearing that, Flo just smiled and focused on the road ahead because she didn't want to have to stop too far from her workplace.
"You paid for this bus, right?" she asked Flo again.
"Yes"
"Then why did you give up your seat? Your rights as a consumer of this vehicle are lost. Are you helping me because you feel sorry for this old woman who has to stand?"
Hearing that, Flo was actually surprised, but this morning she didn't want to argue, especially with a woman who was older than her.
"My mother taught me that we should help people, especially parents"
"But I didn't ask for help, because I don't want to be pitied and usually if someone helps me, they always have a reason"
Flo's forehead wrinkled hearing her words, which actually sounded arrogant but she still found it funny.
Again, she had to take a deep breath to be patient with the old woman she had helped. "I have no other reason, grandma. I'm just helping, don't worry I won't ask grandma to return the ticket money "
"Don't you know who I am? "
Flo just answered with a big smile and shook her head without saying anything.
"Later when we meet again, we'll get to know each other. Now I have to get off because I've arrived "Flo said goodbye.
The bus stopped right in front of the bus stop where Flo worked, she then stepped out of the bus and separated from the strange grandma she had just met.
"Oh my God, what's wrong with my life lately?" asked Flo in her heart.
She felt that this week was strange and like someone had arranged it, from her having to meet a drunk doctor, a man who claimed to be her fan at a nightclub, and today meeting an old woman who thought her help was because she wanted something in return.
"Hopefully this is a sign that I will be matched with a rich person!" she suddenly said.
"Even though marrying a rich man will make me look like a fool who needs money, but for now I'm okay with being called stupid"
"I just want mom to get better treatment and get better"
She continued walking down the corridor to the room where she worked, on the way she saw many people gathering in a field.
All workers who had not entered their respective rooms had to perform a ceremony first as a routine hospital activity.
She was curious about someone Luke had once called her father who she herself had never seen.
Flo stood behind a wall pillar to hide and watch from a distance the person she wanted to know.
"I'm sure Luke's father must be handsome, he's handsome"
Her eyes were still looking for the special place Luke had said yesterday.
"It's still empty," said Flo softly.
She was like a stalker looking for someone this time, her eyes were still waiting for the person she wanted to know the most to tell Luke later.
"Is Luke's father absent today?"
She was a little disappointed if now her efforts did not produce good results for her to tell Luke.
"Why are you hiding here?"
There was a male voice from behind Flo this time. She froze and her heart started working twice as fast.
The voice seemed very familiar to Flo's ears, which made her not move an inch.
"Why are you hiding here instead of joining the ceremony?"
Being asked like that made Flo weak, her plan this morning which was just to peek did not go well.
"What's your name?"
Flo was forced to turn around and show her face.
"Sorry, I'm new here," said Flo softly.
Her eyes rounded seeing the figure of the man who had reprimanded her now.
Both of Flo's eyeballs seemed to rebel to get out of their place seeing the man who reprimanded her this time.
Luckily her glasses really helped her to hide her surprise seeing the figure of Doctor Maxell this time.
"Don't recognize me, I beg you!" she shouted from the heart.
"Sorry, I'm a new employee. I have to meet the administration officer first "
The man seemed to squint his eyes, it seemed like he was also remembering if he had met Flo.
"Excuse me, doctor"
Flo tried to escape this time, she turned around with the intention of immediately leaving the man and entering the elevator closest to him.
Unfortunately, her body had to hit the wall pillar that she had used as a hiding place to peek.
"Are you okay?" asked the man.
"No, thank you"
Flo rushed to leave, instead of covering up her great pain she actually felt very embarrassed at this time.
"Why did I have to hit the wall, God!"
In the elevator where there was only her, Flo felt frustrated and her self-esteem suddenly shattered into pieces because of the embarrassing incident earlier.
"I want a rich man, but he's not God either"
Flo's mind continued to be flooded with her complaints which made her even more convinced that she was indeed not destined to be matched with a rich man who could help her with her difficulties.
"It would be terrible if he found out who I was!" she blurted out again.
In the elevator, Flo was like a crazy person who had been talking to herself since she entered.
