Miss Flo
"Flo Zenara "
His name was called after he was ready with all the attributes he wore at his workplace that he had just acquired today.
"Remember on the sheet of agreement that you have signed"
A middle-aged woman with such a neat appearance looked at her with a sharp gaze even though she was wearing glasses.
"Don't try weird things during your three-month probationary period!! "
"There are still many people who want to work here, so don't waste your golden opportunity"
Again the middle-aged woman looked from head to toe, like a device to detect something strange from Flo's body.
"I call you Flo or Zenara?"
"Zee... "
One second after answering, Flo immediately remembered and changed it.
"It's not just Flo"
The woman looked at Flo with a strange look at Flo's reply.
"Why can you be so hesitant?"
"Flo is the name of the country if Zee is the name of the cat in my house"
Flo was confused explaining what he had said earlier.
"Give your child a name like a pet cat's name! "
"You just call me Mrs. Berg"
"Mom is... "
Flo had trouble proposing the woman's name, the language was strange and she felt like she had just heard someone's name which was short but difficult to pronounce.
"I understand very well that my name is difficult to pronounce, because only Dutch descendants can pronounce it"
With a calm yet confident tone as his name implies, he responds to Flo who has trouble spelling his name.
"From today you will be on duty in the children's ward for the next three months"
"This is your colleague, Riyu, he will teach you what you should do in this room"
Flo just nodded for the woman to hurry up and let her work for today.
"Hi I'm Riyu"
When Berg's mother leaves, Riyu pulls Flo's hand to come with her to the nurse station where they work.
"Flo"
Riyu smiled, "Unique name, Flo only?"
Flo smiled and nodded, "yes"
The woman named Riyu was the same age as Flo, twenty-three years old. She is petite with shiny black hair tied neatly, her skin is white and her eyes are narrow she looks like the Japanese women in the movies that Flo often watches.
"You're Japanese? or Korean? " asked Flo.
"My father is Japanese, if I was born in this country"
Flo nodded, and felt that his guess was correct even though it was wrong.
"What is my duty here?"
Flo turned all his gaze towards the four doors in front of him that still looked silent and tightly closed.
"We only take care of and provide medicine for children," Riyu replied.
He walked slowly down the corridor with four doors still closed, after a few steps he stopped at the first and second doors that were on the left and right sides.
"So this room was made by a special hospital for children who have cancer, their families are too busy so they are entrusted here."
Flo saw behind the glass of the door two children lying in each bed, the medical equipment Flo knew very well that it was very modern and of course very expensive.
"They're cured?"
Riyu's breath was clearly heard by Flo, "some went home because they were healed, some went home because they died."
"More of an exiled statement... " Flo said in his heart.
"Alright"
Riyu's tone of voice this time sounded very happy, she held both of Flo's hands and showed her sparkling face.
"I am very happy because today you came and became my partner," he said.
"We can share the task, you are the one who guards rooms one and two, I rooms three and four?"
"We only stay awake from morning to evening, because there is a special nurse for them"
Flo agrees, because for now he does need a job that is his dream after college as his permanent job and for the other work he does at night Flo has plans to quit after his contract is completed.
"The children here are kind and friendly, they never act strange," explained Riyu.
"Room one is called Sheinan, he is eight years old, leukemia. In the second room, he is the son of an official in this hospital, but unfortunately the result of a secret marriage with another woman, I am not clear about the name of the disease, he is not allowed to go out of the room, his body is not allowed to sweat or later his whole body is itchy and blistered"
Riyu asks Flo to get closer to him, she wants to whisper something to Flo.
"Like the cursed disease of the first wife, right?" whispered Riyu.
"Where is there such a disease" Flo smiled faintly.
From behind the glass door he looked towards room number two, where an eight-year-old boy was lying on the bed. There are many medical devices and also humidifiers so that he never sweats to reduce his pain.
"Poor child... " Flo whispered in his heart.
He compared the child to himself, whom he also always called unlucky, but after seeing the children in the room he knew what it meant to be grateful. Flo who has grown up can still be given a life that is difficult and hard but does not make it difficult for her family.
"Good morning, Miss Sheinan"
Flo greeted the little girl in the first room with a smile and brought her breakfast, the little girl was seen sitting on her bed looking at the mirror in her hand.
"The new nurse's sister?" she asked.
"Yes, that's right"
Flo approached Sheinan who didn't seem to mind the presence of a new person in her room.
"Do you want to eat first or do you want to clean your body? "
"Whatever," he replied briefly.
Flo smiled faintly, looking at sheinan she remembered her same mother who was struggling with leukeumia that she was suffering from. He prepared warm water and a small towel to clean the little girl's body.
He was moved when he cleaned his small body with a few needle puncture marks, but his face still showed as if he could still accept everything as long as he could heal and gather with his family.
"I'm not beautiful because I don't have hair anymore," Sheinan said when Flo changed her headgear.
"Who said?" asked Flo.
"This mirror" Sheinan showed the mirror he was holding.
Flo quickly put on a new headgear for the sheinan and looked into the little girl's eyes.
"Miss Sheinan wants to look beautiful?"
The little girl nodded quickly.
"But you have to make a promise first"
Again gave an answer by nodding his head.
"Take the medicine without drama, there will be a gift to be beautiful"
"Ready" as quickly as lightning the little girl agreed to it.
"What's the nurse's sister's name?"
"Flo"
"Miss Flo promises to make me beautiful? "
Flo smiled faintly but she was sad when sheinan asked her to keep the promise she had said earlier.
"Miss Sheinan's Promise"
But finally he decided to make what the little girl wanted
