Chapter 37

At one end of the room was a small desk.  He had a laptop and a few books on him.  There were two bookshelves right behind it.  The floor-to-ceiling windows filled the night light.  It had a large wardrobe and a two-seater armchair to sit next to it.  The bedroom was larger than the living room. 

I should have slept while the pain in my back was starting to go away a little bit.  I reached for the night lamp and turned it off.  I tucked my arms under the pillow for a more comfortable position. 

I didn't want to think about what had happened, but every time I closed my eyes, each of the cheers echoed in my ears, and Kuzgun's demonic face would not leave me alone. 

I was afraid as the face of the man who was waiting with a hot iron on my head flashed in my mind.  I didn't want to cry, but the pain in my throat was holding me back.
