Three Levels of Hell (3)

There was no time to react. Li Nuxie had not even blink her eyes when steel bars appeared from both sides of the wall. The steel sparkled as it was illuminated by the laser beams.

Li Chao was a tennis player. Therefore, his reflexes were fast. He was able to drop on the floor pulling Huang Wensheng with him. Huang Wensheng was caught off guard that his face slammed directly to the moist pavement. He groaned. He can feel the sticky surface against his face. The protective gear gave in.

"Sorry about that," Li Chao apologized. "But I think it's better for your face to suffer the fall than to lose your life here."

Huang Wensheng could not speak. He was not complaining. Just now, he thought he was going to meet the King of Hell. Good thing, elder brother thought about him. Those steel bars scratched the protective suit he was wearing.

"Are you okay?" Li Nuxie's voice reached them.

Li Chao raised his eyes. "What are you doing? Finish it before someone comes!" he ordered his sister. " We're fine here. Just some scratches," he further assured Li Nuxie.

Li Nuxie exhaled the breath she was not aware she was holding. A second after, her lips were pressed into a thin line. Her eyes flashed with determination.

She needed to obtain that hard drive. Come hell or high water. Her limbs which were aching a while ago suddenly obtain another vigor. It moved fluidly against those laser beams as if she was dancing with the ancient music.

Hurdling another set of laser beams, she was able to get to the end of the first level.

She exhaled before looking for the mechanism that controlled the laser beams. Her palms ran through the walls. She got down on her knees, hoping to see it on the floor but to no avail.

Her time was running out. Li Chao, who sensed the worry from Li Nuxie spoke to her.

"Just go. Leave us here," he said.

Li Nuxie raised her head. "Are you crazy? I'm not leaving you here!" She went around on her knees, patting the cold floor that infiltrate the gloves she wore. She can feel the sweat trickling on her face.

"Xiexie, just go ahead. We'll figure out how we can get out from here. If you don't leave, most probably the three of us cannot leave here anymore!"

"But -"

"No buts," Li Chao cut her off. "You should at least believe in your brother. I know I run from problems. But I don't shy away if my life is at stake," he said.

Li Nuxie stopped moving. Her eyes became misty behind the protective gear. Her brother was right. She should at least believe in him. There was still Li Chanying outside. She couldn't lose this game before it ends.

She nodded. "Then I'll wait for you at the third level," she smiled tightly before turning around.

"Bring home the bacon, elder sister!" Huang Wensheng cheered on her, not minding that he was being sandwiched by two steel bars at the moment.

Li Nuxie started to run forward. She must get that hard drive no matter what.

While Li Chao and Huang Wensheng were formulating techniques on how to free themselves from being trapped within those steel bars, there was one person who currently taking cover among those grasses: Li Chanying.

She lost contact with Li Nuxie and the team for a while now. She was in charge of hacking through those CCTVs. It would be a big help if she can locate her cousin however it seemed that they lost the communication tool.

So what can be done except to hack into the enemy's database? The internal server of Country M was indeed top of the notch. Her armpits were already crying after she hacked the enemy's server. It took her two hours and sixteen minutes.

So now, she knew that Li Nuxie was able to hurdle the first level. The thing was she still cannot locate her cousin. To avoid the other side from tracking down Li Nuxie, Li Chanying must manipulate the controlling mechanisms of the secret chamber.

Li Chanying shook her head. What secret chamber? For all she knew, it might just be a normal tunnel underground. Tsk. Li Chanying, that's not really reassuring, she thought.

At the monitoring room, a cup of coffee flew across the wall. Its contents splashed among the unfortunate workers.

"No update yet? Why am I even paying you if you cannot do your job well?!" The man's veins around his neck were already visible. The people around were afraid it might rupture any moment.

There was no movement on the second level. Yet. The second level was much harder than the first. The man cannot say that the intruder will not survive the second level. After all, it was also the first time someone broke into the first level.

Meanwhile, the other party was also looking forward to the success of this team. However, they don't expect that much. They know that the second level was much harder and if that team was able to survive the first, the second level was not a guarantee.

Xu Wei was sitting on the sofa, legs were extended. His one arm covered his eyes. Ah, he was looking forward to Li Nuxie's homecoming.

Li Nuxie kept running, not minding that the tunnel was pitch black. Then, because of momentum, her body slammed against a steel barrier.

"Ouch!" She exclaimed, massaging the part that collided. Another one? She asked inwardly.
