The School Heathrob's Fantasy Girl

Kilin, an adventurous and fearless high school senior, has always lived life on her terms. She had an insatiable appetite for excitement and a reputation for pushing boundaries. One fateful night, Kilin receives a direct message that changes everything. It's Wyatt, the heartthrob of the school, asking her to be his girlfriend. Overwhelmed with excitement and disbelief, Kilin's heart leaps at the chance to be with the guy she's secretly admired from afar. Despite never having spoken to him, she decides to take the leap and agrees to his proposal. Monday morning arrives, and Kilin can barely contain her excitement as she walks over to Wyatt's desk, carrying a well-intentioned surprise breakfast. However, what Kilin expects to be a romantic encounter quickly turns into a heart-wrenching realisation. Instead of a warm embrace or sweet words, Wyatt crushes her dreams in an instant. As Wyatt stands up, Kilin's heart races with anticipation, but her hopes are shattered when he cups her face not for a passionate kiss, but to deliver a devastating blow. "Don't be silly," he coldly utters, "You will never be my type." In that moment, Kilin finds herself unceremoniously dumped, her heart aching from the cruel rejection.

Would you be my girlfriend?

"Kilin... can I play games with you?" said a milky voice that could warm anyone's heart.

Kilin was playing Heros of Terra while preparing to live stream in the next thirty minutes when he invited himself into her bedroom.

She pulled down her pink headset with pointed cat ears before saying, "No, this is for adults. Go watch some cartoons or something," she said almost pushing him out of her bedroom.

"Mum said you should play with me. I want to play candy king," said Raylan her younger brother who was ten years younger than her.

"Not today. We can play tomorrow. I am still busy," she replied but his cheeks puffed up like a pufferfish.

Kilin was about to coax him into leaving so they could play later when her cell phone buzzed. She wanted to ignore it at first but she thought it was a message from her cousin about the side quest they were planning on playing together so she picked it up.

Instead of Luna, there was a message notification from an account she was obviously familiar with.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she stared at the notification on her phone screen. Her fingers trembled as she swiped up her phone to unlock the screen.

The message was from Wyatt who was the school's heartthrob, the guy who made every girl's heart flutter. She couldn't believe it. They had never spoken before, and she was just one of the many girls who secretly admired him from afar.

Her fingers quivered with a mixture of shock and anticipation. She hesitated to open the message, fearing that it might be a mistake or a prank. But curiosity got the better of her, and she finally tapped on the notification, opening the message.

The message read, "Hey, Kilin. I hope you're doing well. I've noticed you around school, and I wanted to ask if you would like to be my girlfriend. Let me know if you're interested. - Wyatt."

Kilin, "..."

Her heart skipped a beat and she almost dropped her phone unable to contain herself. She blinked in disbelief, reading the message over and over again. It was real.

Wyatt had actually asked her to be his girlfriend. Her mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions, excitement and nervousness intermingling within her.

While she was caught up in her emotions she felt a fluffy head of hair brushing against her cheek. "Who is Wyatt?" asked Raylan innocently, his curiosity piqued.

Kilin's heart sank when she realised he was still there. She quickly collected herself, her face turning red with embarrassment and panic. She had no idea if he read the entire message. If he did then he was most definitely going to snitch on her.

Without thinking, she lunged forward and scooped Raylan up, slinging him over her shoulder. He let out a surprised yelp, but Kilin didn't stop. She carried him out of her room, her steps hurried and her heart still racing. She still needed to process what just happened and didn't want any interruptions.

Once outside her room, Kilin gently set Raylan down and closed the door behind her, shutting him out. She leaned against the door, taking a deep breath to calm her racing thoughts. Her phone felt like a hot coal in her hand as she nervously contemplated her response.

Her mind was flooded with questions. Did Wyatt genuinely want to be her boyfriend, or was this some kind of joke? What if he had sent the message to the wrong person? Kilin's insecurities threatened to overwhelm her, but she refused to let them. This was a chance, an unexpected opportunity that she couldn't let slip away.

With renewed determination, Kilin unlocked her phone and began to type her response to Wyatt, her fingers trembling with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She wanted to make sure her response didn't seem too desperate and eager.

She bit her lower lip and calmly typed a response. Out of nervousness, she pressed send without re-reading the message.

Kiki: Um, really? Okay, I will be your girlfriend.

Her breath stagnated as she fell forward on the bed. She grabbed her pillow and screamed into it while rolling on the bed. After half a minute a loud ding caught her attention and she finally stopped suffocating herself and unlocked her phone. Wyatt had responded and unlike his first message, it was just one exclamation word.

Wyatt: En

She excitedly kicked the air in her bed her mind filled with floating pink hearts. She kicked so hard that she felt a cramp in her thigh.

Kilin sat up immediately and exhaled deeply with her eyes closed before whispering, "Kilin... sweety calm down. You really look desperate right now... aaaahhhh, I don't care, I don't care," she mumbled to herself. She didn't care how desperate she looked now.

The door suddenly opened a creak and her mother's head peeped in. The two of them looked at each other for a second or two before Mary Lee her mother asked,

"What's all this fuss about? I can hear you from the other side of the hall and your hair is a mess."

Kilin cleared her throat as she pushed her messy hair back. "Sorry. It's nothing," she said and Mary Lee opened her mouth about to ask who Wyatt was.

Yes, little Raylan had already mentioned something about Kilin talking to a boy named Wyatt. She wanted to ask but she decided against it in the end. She didn't want to get into a fight with her before her night shift.

"Okay, just keep it down." Mary Lee closed the door and left with a depressive air around her. It seemed she was really stressed about something.

Kilin quickly unlocked her phone when a negative thought crossed her mind. She was worried that maybe this wasn't really Wyatt's account and someone else was pretending to be him. She clicked on his profile and found a link to his IG.

Lying flat on her back her finger hovering over the phone screen, she kept scrolling through her now boyfriend's posts for what felt like hours completely engrossed in the glimpses of his life that he shared with the world.

Her heart fluttered in her chest as she admired his handsome face in the profile picture. His captivating smile, and the sparkle in his eyes, it was a sight that never failed to make her weak in the knees. Kilin couldn't help but wonder why he picked her. In some of the pictures, he was even standing with Myan, one the most vied-over girls in school yet he actually picked her.

Kilin bit her lower lip absentmindedly when her phone fell on her face striking her lips.

"Ow," she cursed while rubbing her lips. It was like a brick had fallen in her face.
