Mess

"Are you done eating?" I asked the boy, smiling at him as I wiped the little speck on the side of his lip, licking my finger.

"Done." He said, stretching as I laid my head down on his lap, the snow falling down on us. "Why did you do this suddenly?"

"Maybe I wanted to show off." I shrugged, sticking my tongue out at him. "Do you feel cold?"

"A little bit." He shivered as I got up and started to help him dress up in his uniform. "Thanks."

"Why do you always have to take off your clothes when you are eating?" I asked chuckling while buttoning the shirt. "Scared to get your pretty clothes dirty?"

"Of course." He huffed, pouting slightly. "These are expensive clothes. You know that."

Cute.

"Of course I do. I was the one that bought them all." I pointed out, flicking him lightly in the nose. "Every one of them."

"Yeah. Yeah. Thanks." He sat with the elegance of a lady though I don't really like him with clothes on.

The restricted feeling came every time I see him in clothes makes me annoyed but if he likes dressing like this, who am I to say no to that?

The moment he puts on the dresses, Rumant becomes Yale Cassese again. My girlfriend.

"We should get back," I said, waving my hands as the clouds disappeared from the sky immediately. "It is almost time for the next class."

"Classes are annoying." She said, taking my hands as I pulled her up to her feet. "I want to just skip it entirely. Does it even matter anymore?"

"You know it does," I said, pushing the glasses up my nose before picking up the lunch box laying on the ground. "Come on, the princess of the school can't slack off."

"And why not?" She pouted. "Zion, will you get me anything I ask for? Anything at all?"

"You know I would."

"Then, get me out of this place." She complained. "I don't want to be in school anymore. It's suffocating and it's annoying. Everyone here is shallow."

Chuckling, I pushed her to the wall, taking off my glasses as my sunset orange eyes began to glow. "Aren't you the exact same?"

"Don't tease me." She huffed, pushing me away as she made her way to the door. "Don't be late tonight."

"Have I ever been late?" I asked, watching her go.

Sighing, I rested my head back on the wall, trying to gather my thoughts.

Looking at my hands, the faint marks were hardly visible unless you deliberately look for them. These marks are just like the ones on Rumant, except his ones look more like tattoos and mine look like healed burnt marks.

Riiinng.

Time for classes. I thought, looking at the mess in front of me. I had wrapped Rumant's lunch in leaves while leaving them in to cook in the sun.

So he could have a warm, healthy meal. Well, healthy for him anyway.

The only problem I have with this is that he is a messy eater. So I have to clean up behind him.

That usually makes me late for classes. Not that it mattered anymore.

She was right about classes. Even I find it completely pointless at this point. Not that I will ever admit it to her face.

I might to Rumant. But he is never there long enough for me to have a proper conversation with him.

Sad. Maybe one day I will be able to have the conversation I want with him. Until then. I can only hope.

Riiinng!

Finally, the day is done. FINALLY.

"Zion!" An auburn-haired boy suddenly wrapped his arms around me, suffocating me in his grip. "Where did you go off to with the princess of our school? Did you have fun?"

"Maybe," I said, he is best ignored and left alone. What was his name again?

Philip? Philo? Phil? Oh well. I'll just address him as whatever.

"Phil. Let go of me." I said, struggling to get out of his grip.

"My name is Bil!" He shouted, squeezing me even more. "Did you forget or something?"

"That can't be your real name."

"You said that last time too." The boy finally released me. "Do you have amnesia or something, Zion? Do you remember who your girlfriend is??"

"Of course I do," I said, rubbing the sore spot in my neck from where he squeezed me. "It's Yale."

Instantly I felt eyes glaring at me, a sigh escaping my lips as I turned to the group of students murmuring to themselves. "What's wrong? Can't I say my girlfriend's name?"

That did it. They glared at me, annoyance written all over their faces. But there was nothing they could do. Yale was mine and they had to accept it.

"Don't get so cocky, Zion." One of the larger students said, glaring at me. "You will not always be able to keep her with you. And you are making enemies talking like that."

"You guys were the ones that decided to shut me out the moment you knew I was dating her," I said, raising an eyebrow at them. "You were the ones that made an enemy of me. Not the other way round."

"You-"

"Honey!" Yale poked her head into the room, bringing light into it with her.

As she passed some students tried to talk to her but she did not even act like she could see them. Walking by the large student, I watched as he attempted to make a move on her.

"Yale. Hello. I am a friend of Zion's-"

And she walked past him like he was the air, forgotten and invisible, though he was still there.

Yale wrapped her arms around mine. "Are you ready to go? There is this cute café I saw on the way here, they are holding a one-day event. I want to go with you."

"Sorry, Yale. I need to work today." I said, pushing my slipping glasses up my nose. "Maybe you can go with someone else?"

"But I wanted to go with you." She said, pouting. "Are you telling me to go alone?"

"Sometimes time with yourself is the most important time of all," I said, holding my hand in the air as I felt the ground looks of disgust on me.

No one would dare treat the princess like this. No one would dare reject her request to hang out. I have heard that someone missed their parent's funeral to work in a café Yale said she was going to.

She didn't because I told her I was going to stay at home the whole day and we just stayed in my room, cooking.

I think the boy changed schools but I can't remember. What was his name again?

"Or," I said, trying another approach as I indicated to the people around me. "Maybe you can take anyone from here out with you. What do you think?"

Yale thought for a second, tapping her chin.

"Na. I will wait for you."

"But, it's a one-day event, right? You'll miss it."

"It's pointless if I don't go with you."

That's that for you. I thought, turning to everyone in the room. She doesn't even bother trying to look at anyone around them, like they were not worth her time.

"Then, shall we go," I said as we two began walking out of the classroom, everyone still glaring daggers at us.

Annoying. Just ignore me, will you?

Sitting on my window, I stared up at the moon.

It looks much, much bigger than it did before. Maybe it is just my imagination? No … the tidal waves are also going crazy.

Should I monitor that? Will it be important? Maybe I can try.

Suddenly hands wrapped around my waist, a head leaning on my back as the hands squeezed tight.

"Sorry. Did I wake you?" I asked, feeling the warmth from Rumant's steady breathing against my shirt. "I wasn't thinking that loud though."

He shook his head before mumbling, "No, it was time to get up anyway. It's two."

"Already?" I asked as he moved away from me and I entered the room. "I have to start getting ready for my job. I didn't realise this much time had passed."

"You are a little slow after all." Rumant chuckled, watching me scamper around in the room. "Your uniform is in the door handle. No, that's not where your socks are- here, let me."

He walked to the door and closet in the one-bedroom apartment, pulling out a clean set of, what looks like a postman's uniform, with the hat, and laying them on the bed.

"Here you go." He said, putting the shoes beside the bed. "Geez. What will you do without me?"

"I wonder that sometimes." I chuckled, patting him on the head. "Thanks."

"If you are thankful, get me a new dress." He said, turning from me.

I know he meant it in a joking way but I will take this to heart and get him that dress he's been eying for a while. Though the details can be thought of later.

For now, there is my job and, judging by the instructions on my phone, it is going to be a messy one.

Good thing I like messy.
